In the music video world, much like film itself, there are labours of love. We&rsquo;ve all heard the stories; locked in a dark room, toiling away with no food or sleep until the final touches are done. Yes, there are labours of love, and then there&rsquo;s something else; DIY 3D scanning performances and spending 8 months creating beautiful artificial CG worlds on a laptop while simultaneously touring under the moniker Woodkid. That&rsquo;s precisely what Yoann Lemoine has done for his Black Atlass video &lsquo;Jewels&rsquo;.It&rsquo;s a stunning example of what can be achieved not with money, but strong vision and unrelenting persistence. The video features 3D scanned images of Montreal-based singer Alex Fleming (Black Atlass) paired with the stoic Polish model Anja Rubik, in worlds both unfamiliar and fantastic. Their surreal poses and surroundings are unsettling, yet absolutely captivating.The lights and shapes and textures are not only extraordinary, but unexpected as well. And that&rsquo;s largely the point. As Yoann explains:&nbsp;I was born with computers but I&rsquo;ve always thought it was strange to use them to fake or replace reality. The whole quest for 3D, 4D, pixel resolution, frame rate, and progress in the CGI world only seems to be driven by a fascination for reality emulation, and not that much by artistry and fantasy. The reality pictured in this video only exists in the computer I used to create the piece. It&#39;s fascinating and alienating too.Despite creating coldly artificial environments, the images in &lsquo;Jewels&rsquo; have an immediacy and warmth to them, in large part because Yoann has created scenes with such detail and precision, we become completely engrossed. The way certain shots so unnaturally fuse faces together with inorganic objects creates a bizarre empathy; we understand, without understanding at all.

Yoann Lemoine AKA Woodkid has described his final visual release for his album The Golden Age as &quot;somehow about my love/hate relationships with men.&quot; And certainly&nbsp;the epic 11 minute&nbsp;promo &ndash; also featuring music by modern German composer Max Richter &ndash;&nbsp;is open to interpretation.&nbsp;Seemingly going full circle, Yoann implies previous promos were the imagination of the child within;&nbsp;a&nbsp;boy who lives in the swampy outback. Yoann goes further as the body cast in the intro is of long-term protegé Thomas Azier who has toured with Woodkid.&nbsp;Having introduced the imaginator behind the videos for&nbsp;Run Boy Run&nbsp;and Iron,&nbsp;we get to see the everyday ups and downs&nbsp;of growing up in a small remote community. Of course,&nbsp;everything is portrayed&nbsp;beautifully: the photography is by Kasper Tuxen.

It took 11 days to shoot - walking 8 miles a day with steadicam gear. But in fact this endurance test is what it took to make history.&nbsp;The direction is key and essentially what ties the project together creating a real sense of cohesion.&nbsp;Not new to inspiring the world We Are From LA often create international campaigns for brands, their most famous to date the technically brilliant <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pfxB5ut-KTs">Baby &amp; Me</a>&nbsp;for Evian. Fresh from&nbsp;releasing footage from his live tour, Yoann his hand in this massive project. Following Iron and Run Boy Run, here's Woodkid's I Love You, and the third instalment of the Yoann Lemoine's epic, visionary, utterly distinctive visualisation of his musical project. 
And I Love You has the same epic quality, beautiful attention to detail, and distinctive monochrome look that marks out the all Woodkid videos. Just don't expect this to be a continuation of the magical adventure of Run Boy Run - that's dispelled in the opening shot. Instead, another character who first appears in Iron takes centre stage. And here the grandeur is initially less effects-driven and naturalistic, before normal service is resumed. 
Matvey Lykov plays a churchman and organist, playing to his congregation. But then intercut with the church footage, he is also lost in the spectacular coastal scenary of Iceland, before sinking beneath the waves, to be surrounded by a school of whales....
