A hypnotic beat draws out a crowd for an old-school block party&nbsp;in Malia James' video for Bryce Vine.&nbsp;A bouncy bassline introduces the visual, with various passers-by tapping their feet and moving their hips, as the music semiconsciously takes over their bodies. Every step, bounce and jiggle hits the beat, and the whole town is feeling the music.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Corey C Waters experiments with camera movement, mixing whip-pans and handheld shots to create the frenetic vibe the track calls for. The repetition of certain shots helps build&nbsp;to a climax at the end of the video, with editor&nbsp;Nick Rondeau masterfully pulling off a crescendo of dancing, partying and a raving good time.&nbsp;

FKA Twigs is back with a hypnotic music video for Holy Terrain, directed by herself and frequent collaborator Nick Walker.Opening in the middle of a barren desert, Twigs smokes a blunt under a dim red light, her facial features warping as she rocks side to side, riding the high as she stares down into the lens. Moments later, she is in front of a vast&nbsp;blue sky, performing in close-up. The focus is on her heterochromatic contact lenses, blue in one eye, red in the other, as she commands our attention and leaves us hanging on every word.&nbsp;Dropping right into some striking choreography with five backup dancers, Twigs is as mesmerising as ever, constantly exceeding the expectations she has set in previous projects. The consistent low angle throughout the video allows the desert location&nbsp;to fill most of the frame, and the abundance of sky and barren land represents the world Twigs is building for herself- she is on another level, the sole focus in her avant-garde universe.&nbsp;Natasha Braier's cinematography toes the line between fashion and surrealism, at times bright and beautiful, contrasted against the frenetic closeups under red light in the group scenes. A scattering of VFX courtesy of The Mill ties together the concept with&nbsp;a haunting rippled&nbsp;sky and stirring transitions.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Michel Gondry is back with the Chemical Brothers, this time teaming up with his brother Olivier to create this&nbsp;wonderfully entertaining, very funky video that takes inspiration from classic Seventies music show Soul Train, and gives it an unexpected twist.A group of happy and carefree dancers get their groove on in a black studio, creating a striking contrast with the colourful outfits.&nbsp;With the help of some subtle CGI, the dancers&rsquo; moves start to become more and more exaggerated. Bouncing hair and swooping legs soon turn into something much more abstract. The end result is unexpected and unnerving, as we discover not everything is as it seems.

There&#39;s&nbsp;a girl, a payout at an Indian reservation casino, an assignation&nbsp;at a gas station.But mainly Helman keeps the narrative tantalisingly out of reach, so we focus on Max&nbsp;and his existential loneliness.

The 1975's Matty Healy turns up the megawattage of his artfully ramshackle star quality in this major musical production number directed by Warren Fu for Sincerity Is Scary.It's the first of two music videos directed by Fu for the band's forthcoming album, and its a beautifully-constructed piece made on the lines of a Hollywood musical, from the backlot staging on a typical city street, to the supporting cast of chorus girls, dancers and marching bands. And it's certainly performed with sincerity - well, up to a point.Created in a number of long takes with mostly whip-pan to create an endless flow, Healy holds it all together with sleepy panache, and there's a nod to his obsession with Chaplinesque heroes - a little girl becomes the avatar of his silent movie character in old '75 vids. Very entertaining, not at all scary.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;“It’s been a real treat having brainstorming sessions with Matty Healy on ideas the past few months," says Warren Fu. "When it comes to music videos, it never ceases to amaze me when sketches on a whim materialise in person a few days later on set. There’s no better feeling.”

An original tragic-love-story for Elvis Costello&#39;s ballad Suspect My Tears &ndash;&nbsp;drenched in rain, ink and romance - by the animator Mustashrik.A homage to film noir, it&#39;s a dark tale that traverses the emotions of jealousy and envy and devotion, and has the appropriate drama to match Costello&#39;s new ballad - which harks back&nbsp;to his early Noughties collaborations with Burt Bacharach.It&#39;s was also created with a mix of 2D traditional animation, motion graphics and a unique code based animation tool, to combine a styule somewhere between animation and powerful illustration.
