Jensen Noen directs an explosive promo for Demi Lovato, to tie-in with the cinema release of new movie&nbsp;Scream VI.&nbsp;The video for Still Alive sees Demi and friends visit a grand ballroom, sitting down to watch an unknown film - projected onto the screen by Linkin Park vocalist, and producer of the track Mike Shinoda.&nbsp;Switching between Demi's performance, the ballroom narrative and scenes from the film, things take a turn&nbsp;when Ghostface himself appears to take on the artist, spurring on some fun fight-scene segments and a final meta twist.&nbsp;It's a throwback to the days of every major film release having it's own tie-in music video, and the concept as a whole really packs a punch - pun very much intended.&nbsp;

A brilliant addition to the group's already formidable videography.&nbsp;

They are clearly having the time of their lives.&nbsp;Bringing together so many different layers and inspirations - including a knowing nod to Steven Klein's&nbsp;promo for Gaga's Alejandro&nbsp;- the video oozes self-love and an excitable confidence, and is the perfect release to complement Gloria, Smith's just-released new album.It just ticks all the boxes it's supposed to tick - and that is really down to the genius of Tanu Muino. How do you possibly following up winning two MTV VMAs and two UKMVAs all in one year?&nbsp;By directing an insane video for two of the biggest artists in the world - that's what Tanu Muino has done.It's also an insanely violent one. Muino's video for the Post Malone and The Weeknd team-up for One Right Now pays homage to 1990s Asian Cinema&nbsp;and the shootout genre as a whole. From first to last, this super-slick offering is an all-guns-blazing, super-bloody, stylised trip through a dangerous criminal underworld - with possibly a&nbsp;record-high bodycount for a video. Even one involving The Weeknd.The gritty narrative has&nbsp;The Weeknd singlehandedly taking on gangster boss Malone's army of henchmen - while Malone works his way through an army of Weeknd lookalikes with the scariest gun ever. The artists both boast a remarkable presence in their respective roles - testimony to Muino's skilful direction to combine the elements of&nbsp;John Woo-style action, with their personalities and performance.&nbsp;Fans of these heavyweight superstars will not be disappointed - maybe even from the ones in favour of gun control.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Directing duo Tusk present a hazy, sleep-deprived promo for Alessia Cara's Sweet Dream.&nbsp;A patchwork of colourful vignettes explores the artist's yearning for sleep, whilst her dreamworld simultaneously bleeds into the reality of her conscious world.&nbsp;Surreal baby mobiles&nbsp;- made of action figures and sleeping pills - taunt the artist, a sheep appears in her room and her mattresses pile up high, slipping her further and further away from the sweet release of slumber.&nbsp;Masterfully executed and hypnotically fun, it's a top-notch effort from the duo.&nbsp;

Tanu Muino directs a bold, innovative promo for Lil Nas X that has courted a whole heap of controversy - and not entirely for the reasons it intended.&nbsp;The video for Montero (Call Me By Your Name) is a&nbsp;tour de force&nbsp;of 3D art, larger than life set pieces and a truly mesmerising performance,&nbsp;and is presented with an important message of freedom from the trailblazing artist.With it's huge CGI build and characterisation of Lil Nas in a number of roles, Muino has created an extraordinary fantasy world to showcase the artist's unapologetic attitude, with Paris-based Mathematic doing the heavy-lifting in terms of&nbsp;VFX work.Nas starts on a journey, where he encounters various version of himself. Ultimately he&nbsp;descends from the heavens&nbsp;straight into Satan's lap, where he gives a&nbsp;sultry lapdance, all the while celebrating and embracing who he is - and blocking out the naysayers and haters.The unintended controversy comes with the sequence of Nas's descent on a pole to Satan's lair, and its similarities to elements of FKA Twigs' Cellophane video by Andrew Thomas Huang. After a series of <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/news/2021/03/30/andrew-thomas-huang-cries-foul-over-lil-nas-xs-montero-video/70167" target="_blank">anguished posts on social media by Huang</a>, Lil Nas X has now acknowledged the close similarity of the sequences in the two videos, in&nbsp;<a href="https://www.instagram.com/p/CNEAOPCFaHb/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link" target="_blank">an Instagram post</a> on March 30th, in which he describes Cellophane as a "masterpiece."&nbsp;i want to show love to&nbsp;@fkatwigs&nbsp;&amp;&nbsp;@andrewthomashuang&nbsp;! the “cellophane” visual is a masterpiece.i want to say thank u to twigs for calling me and informing me about the similarities between the two videos, as i was not aware they were so close. was only excited for the video to come out. i understand how hard you worked to bring this visual to life. you deserve so much more love and praise.
