Directing duo Machine Operated deliver an intimate documentary-style music video for Loyle Carner's Georgetown - shot in the eponymous capital of Guyana.The pair travelled with Loyle to the country of his father, documenting his&nbsp;relationship with identity, community and belonging, with cinematographers&nbsp;Dan Landin - making a rare return to music videos -&nbsp;and Ola Pontakos.It starts with the words of Guyanese playwright/poet&nbsp;John Agard reciting his poem 'Half-Caste', and from that intriguing point, the film interweaves striking portraiture with understated performance vignettes, captured in a breathtakingly cinematic way, with gorgeous composition, colour palettes and textures.&nbsp;It's&nbsp;stunning work.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Olivia Rose directs a powerful exploration of womanhood in her new video for Lola Young.&nbsp;The visual features Young alongside a&nbsp;brave and diverse collection of beautiful women laid bare, as they boldly celebrate&nbsp;the female form. Embracing the parts of themselves that society has traditionally shamed or reduced them to, the concept is a reclamation of the body and everything it means to be female.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Ula Pontikos uses coloured patterns and lights to highlight the women, creating a graphical, playful aesthetic, which contrasts perfectly with the&nbsp;intimate setups and shots. And the full nature of the shoot, and unabashed nudity by artist and other models is celebrated in a wonderfully sensitive job by editor Flaura Atkinson.Truly breathtaking, both Rose and Young have stepped outside of conventional comfort zones to highlight an important conversation around body positivity and femininity, and have done so with confidence and flair.

Lewis Capaldi has released a&nbsp;second, official video for his monster hit Someone You Loved directed by Ozzie Pullin, which sees&nbsp;Lewis star as&nbsp;a heartbroken man in the immediate aftermath of a break-up with his girlfriend – while pals try to stop him from chasing after her.Focused&nbsp;almost purely on performance, Lewis&nbsp;pushes aside the funny, goofy personality we all know and uncovers a broken, vulnerable&nbsp;side of himself.“I wanted to show another side to the song,” Capaldi said in a press statement. “For me the video is about the people we surround ourselves with that have the strength when we don’t and help us continue to make the right decisions in moments of fear or hardship. In the moment we often choose to ignore friends and family, thinking our judgement is better, but of course in hindsight when you’re in that headspace it’s almost impossible to make the right decisions.”Ozzie Pullin's video follows&nbsp;the first one released in February, featuring Lewis's relative Peter Capaldi, which doubled as a promo for the organ donation charity&nbsp;<a href="https://www.livelifegivelife.org.uk/" target="_blank">Life Life Give Life</a>.&nbsp;

CC Wade have created a spectacular Genet-inspired video for Fat White Family: a homoerotic love tragedy set on the battlefield.&nbsp;The directing duo have collaborated once again with Francesca Di Mottola - winner of the award for Best Production Design at last year&#39;s UKMVAs for the directors&#39; video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/09/07/king-krule-biscuit-town-cc-wade/54898">King Krule&#39;s Biscuit Town</a>&nbsp;- to create a complete cinematic world in the studio that would not look out of place in a Powell &amp; Pressburger classic. The long, climactic battle scene, in particular, is a triumph of old-school filmmaking craft.&nbsp;With the label version of the video for Feet released back in January, this version is the Directors Cut - what CC Wade consider the finished video. And it&#39;s a joy to behold.

Fat White Family 'Feet' by CC Wade

As George Ezra paces around his bedroom, water seeps under the door - and soon the room is quickly filling up with water. It&#39;s a startling and gripping scenario for the video for Hold My Girl, directed by Dave Bullivant, aka Bison.It&#39;s certainly not the easy-going and uplifting vibe that we usually get from the usual George Ezra music video, but it fits with the tone of the song, which gives the sense of a man who&#39;s time is quickly running out. And that&#39;s exactly what&#39;s happening before our eyes in the video.By all accounts, this was a very difficult shoot to pull off. So if that look on George&#39;s face, as the room inexorably fills with water, looks like genuine fear... well, it just might be.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Following up the artful symbolism of&nbsp;<a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2015/04/21/will-young-river-wiz">Like A River</a>, WIZ&#39;s&nbsp;video for Will Young&#39;s Brave Man follows a young man as he calmly sets out on a outstanding act of bold defiance. He takes his clothes off in a pub, and walks naked through an English&nbsp;seaside town - his courage magnified by the fact he is a transgender individual.As he walks naked and vulnerable through Brighton&#39;s dark and windy streets, he is targeted by&nbsp;snarky girls&nbsp;and chipshop bullies.&nbsp;The video works by displaying this extraordinary act in a real, almost low-key environment.&nbsp;All the better to draw the viewer in to reflect upon&nbsp;the huge&nbsp;uphill battle of trans people - among the most discriminated minorites in society &ndash;&nbsp;who are demanding acceptance for who they are.The narrative is punctuated occasionally by the mournful presence of Will Young. He has less screen time than in any of his previous videos, but Brave Man may prove to be his most influential, in drawing <a href="http://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2015/oct/20/brave-man-video-trans-transgender-jack-monroe" target="_blank">media&nbsp;attention</a> to an important&nbsp;issue. James Lees takes young French artist Elisa Jo into the depths of wintry England for her first music video, for the song Defeated, and thanks to the help of a few friends was able to achieve a true sense of gritty British cinema due to shooting on 35mm with some of the last film stock being produced by Fuji&hellip;James Lees on making the video for Elisa Jo&rsquo;s Undefeated&ldquo;For her first music promo proper, Elisa Jo and her label wanted a performance video with a distinctive British feel. After listening to the track I felt the video should echo the melancholy and desolation of the lyrics and most of all, the honesty. No tricks, no twists, just Elisa and the emotion of her song.&ldquo;Regarding choosing the locations I&rsquo;ve always felt the flat unending landscapes and classic British suburban estates of near where I grew up in the Midlands are very cinematic and a perfect reflection of real Britain. So we went and shot the whole thing in and around Peterborough. The landscapes and portraits we were looking to capture just lent themselves to film so perfectly it made me really push to shoot on 35mm. Luckily this became a reality with the generosity of Fuji and the incredible support of Chris Youlton at Arri.&ldquo;Working with Ula Pontikos to capture everything in it&rsquo;s raw, untouched simplicity was a total joy. After two years of not shooting on film I&rsquo;m desperate to keep using it again just as it seems to be dying &ndash; Fuji have ceased production of film stock and Technicolour is due to close it&rsquo;s lab next month. Hopefully the continuation of Kodak and the i-dailies lab will mean we still have the opportunity to make this aesthetic choice for some time to come!&rdquo;
