Emmanuelle Soffé takes us back to disco’s roots, in her video for Scottish DJ duo LF System.&nbsp;The video for Afraid To Feel plays on the song’s disco heritage, dropping us into the middle of a&nbsp;70's-inspired dancefloor, full of nods to the Hispanic, Latinx and Black Queer communities that first brought disco to the fore, with particular influence from ballroom dancing and voguing.The atmospheric cinematography, flamboyant performances and chromatic styling elevate the feel-good concept, ending on a celebratory, proud note.&nbsp;

Emmanuelle Soffé directs Poppy Ajudha's Playgod, a powerful pro-choice statement prompted by the recent Alabama abortion bill and other pressures on women’s freedom across the globeThe song questions the right of men to lay claim to women’s bodies, and Soffé's video&nbsp;grounds Ajudha’s anger in a series of low-lit scenes, with a chorus of women exploding into movement in time with the song’s ferocious chorus, making a physical expression of women’s grief and rage.Elsewhere, scenes depicting Ajudha in Virgin Mary-esque stylings show the grief that even Mary herself feels for Christian ideologies being warped in the name of ‘God’, while a glitter-laden performance from the singer depicts the sanctity of the female body.[imgtoken data:1]"When I first heard this track, with just a few hours to write a script, it struck me that the most powerful way to approach a video concept for a song like this was through simple and raw expression of emotion," says Soffé. "An expression of the emotion that we, as women, feel when we watch things like the Texas Heartbeat Act unfold on our screens. The horror and the grief we feel on behalf of our sisters (and trans/non-binary siblings) on the other side of the planet. The anger, the rage, the frustration, the helplessness. And the way that these powerful emotions unite us, bind us together, make us stronger and ever more determined for change."At its essence, the concept for this video is about Releasing. Releasing our and the collective trauma; a method of communicating not (just) with words, but with the heart."

MØ takes on the formidable Globe of Death on her motorbike, before being catapulted into a new idyllic world in Joanna Nordahl's dazzling video for Live to Survive.Nordahl uses a combination of spectacular action, portraiture and fiery VFX to create a visual metaphor for the sentiment behind the song that marks the&nbsp;return of the artist otherwise known as&nbsp;Karen Marie Ørsted.In the first part of this breathless video we get the all-action MØ, as two bikes revolve around inside the enclosed Globe of Death. Then she is transported to the countryside by a beautiful lake, having come through the other side of her extraordinary challenge.&nbsp;MØ says of Live to Survive: “I hope you’ll dance to it feeling empowered in yourself, with all your vulnerability, strength, beauty, and flaws, and remember that life is a constant dance of ups and downs.”[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2]

Jonatan Egholm Keis directs a beachside epic for&nbsp;James McMorrow &amp;&nbsp;Rudimental collaboration on Be Somebody.&nbsp;Shot across various locations in Denmark, the video represents a crumbling relationship through abstract vignettes and choppy, intense edits.&nbsp;Visualising the upbeat music through frenetic movement, we see a couple ride a motorbike at dusk, freefall down sandy dunes and have fiery, heat-of-the-moment arguments, whilst backdropped by dazzling landscapes.&nbsp;There might not be much of a narrative, but the concept is&nbsp;all the better for it - and DoP&nbsp;Robin Holtz ensures that every frame is a worthy still image in its own right.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;
