Claire Arnold's latest video for Ashnikko&nbsp;depicts Ash in three paradisiacal settings while they perform to camera.“I wrote this song pre-pandemic when I was on vacation," Ashnikko has said about&nbsp;Panic Attacks In Paradise. "I had been working really hard, just going going going... When I actually stopped to be with myself and be still, I didn’t know what to do. I was having really horrible mental health problems and I ruined my vacation for myself; so I quite literally had a panic attack in paradise.”

After helming the first few videos from the new album Metronomy Forever, frontman Joseph Mount cedes directing duties to old collaborator Dan Brereton. Very good move.This reunion of the minds that brought us the first Metronomy videos over a decade ago, has now produced a lovely video for Wedding Bells - simple in concept, extremely artful and accomplished in its execution.It's a house party, where now five-piece band are gamely playing in the corner. But this get-together of hormonal teenagers is not what we might expect: its daytime, there's little sign of booze, there's lots of nice party food. Indeed, it really does resemble a much younger person's party.In the midst, one lad becomes smitten with a girl... who is with another guy. But within the logic of the piece - an afternoon nap, a dream sequence, and things getting&nbsp;out of hand in a kid's party way - things may work out...From the location to the casting, art direction and photography in 4:3 by Ruben Woodin Dechamps, this is as good a Metronomy video as we've seen in a while. And lovely to see the band back with Dan Brereton - they&nbsp;always come up with good ones.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;

Daniel Brereton takes us to the streets of Shanghai to complete a trilogy of girl gang-themed music videos for Parisian band Las Aves.The first&nbsp;saw Focus Creeps&#39; follow a team of&nbsp;girl skaters in Los Angeles for <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDZLRpAlK94" target="_blank">Leo</a>, while the second (and Brereton&#39;s first for the band)&nbsp;for <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RYlUeifL3LQ" target="_blank">N.E.M.</a>, featured a sassy group&nbsp;of hairdressers in&nbsp;South London. This time, for the title track of Las Aves&#39;s debut album&nbsp;Die In Shanghai, Brereton focusses upon an all-female, all-in-pink troupe of street acrobats in China&#39;s most populous city.&nbsp;And Shanghai provides a dazzling variety of locations, where the charming girls parade their range of exceptional skills, in the video photographed by Dylan Doyle. It&#39;s also the latest in a diverse range of work&nbsp;helmed by Brereton this year, including for&nbsp;Gorgon City, Julio Bashmore, Soulwax and Stella McCartney.&nbsp;

Daniel Brereton serves up a surprise for&nbsp;Gorgon City&#39;s team-up with&nbsp;Blythe Pepino from Vaults.&nbsp;For all his&nbsp;experience, he&#39;s not a&nbsp;director well known for narrative work for mainstream dance acts. And this is a narrative video with a familiar storyline, about&nbsp;two teenagers sneaking out for a night on the town together.But Brereton has given this&nbsp;scenario his own distinctive stamp, particularly with the casting of two young leads who have the individuality and&nbsp;chemistry that makes their adventure worth watching. And if&nbsp;he&#39;s a director best known for his quirky work for alternative acts, the quirkiness here just serves to make it more believable and human.&nbsp;
