Luis Hindman returns with another mesmerising visual for Joesef, this time in the form of a three-part live film, where the Scottish soul singer performs songs from his debut album, Permanent Damage, released in January.Set in the same world as the excellent series of videos directed by Hindman for tracks from&nbsp;the album,&nbsp;the film takes place in the fictional 'Apartment 22' - a place&nbsp;referenced in the album, where Joesef has been stranded by a past lover.&nbsp;Shot on 16mm, the video was shot by Jake Gabbay, and is comprised of subtle Steadicam shots by&nbsp;Justin Theodore as Joesef and his band perform three songs: Joe, Borderline and Just Come Home With Me Tonight.The textural, almost surreal aesthetic perfectly contrasts the intimate live performance, and the concept as a whole is a brilliant extension to the universe Hindman and the artist have so lovingly brought to life.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Lewis Capaldi returns to action with Forget Me, and teams up with Louis Bhose to show he is up for a crazy, even mind-boggling challenge for its video -&nbsp;a shot-for-shot remake of a classic video from the early 1980s.Many viewers won't have seen the original when it first appeared - it is over forty years old, after all - but the iconic visual of WHAM!'s Club Tropicana&nbsp;is immediately recognisable in the opening frames of Bhose's video for Forget Me. Viewed through a contemporary lens, this is&nbsp;completely offbeat in the best way. Throw in Capaldi's cheeky personality and Bhose's love for whimsical ideas, and you're onto a winner.&nbsp;It's also something of a remarkable feat. And despite being a carefully structured&nbsp;remake, the video is still full of its own energy and vigour, largely down to the creative crew involved.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;"It's not exactly what I imagine most people had on their bingo cards for 'Big Lewis Capaldi Comeback Vid'," reflext Louis Bhose.&nbsp;"But hey, sometimes you gotta kill yourself precisely recreating a classic paean to hedonism for a melancholy song about second heartbreaks. It was really fun though - a week in San Antonio getting carsick and annoying our excellent local art department ('yes! that's almost it!!')."Hard to single out members of our incredible crew, but everyone went absolutely above and beyond to make the vid the best it could be. Big shouts to Lewis for being up for anything and choosing such an odd idea... And am happy to report that I got heat stroke on the shoot and live in hope that any BTS will never see the light of day."&nbsp;

Beki Mari directs a dazzling live video&nbsp;for Glass Animals' sleeper hit phenomenon Heat Waves, shot at the Dreamland theme park in Margate for the band's recent guest spot on&nbsp;The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon.Glass Animals' frontman Dave Bayley roams the Americana-style park, which is buzzing with light and colour but deserted save from his performing bandmates - which also shares the name with the album (released in 2020) from which this huge hit came.&nbsp;Mari has made extensive use of FPV drone technology&nbsp;to create a dizzying camera moves around Bayley while he performs. It's a very successful conceptualisation of the nostalgic world evoked by the song, and beautifully executed.There is also a tinge of loneliness to the concept, highlighting the absence of crowds and collective fun due to the Covid-19 lockdowns, during which this was filmed - epitomised by the atmospheric shot of Bayley's walking among&nbsp;the huge letters of the Dreamland sign.

Bring Me The Horizon frontman Oli Sykes once more takes up directing duties on the band's latest release, to impressive effect.For the video for Teardrops&nbsp;– taken from their new EP Post Human: Survival Horror&nbsp;-&nbsp;Sykes draws on his personal relationship with depression channelling it into the visual representation of him drowning.This&nbsp;involved him spending a full day filming in an underwater tank, and this is juxtaposed with Sykes' lonely bedsit world, a combination of the mundane and highly symbolic. It's a horror, where the Sykes's saviours turn out to be his fellow bandmembers.&nbsp;&nbsp;“It is my favourite song off the record," says Sykes.&nbsp;"I’m so excited to get this single out, it feels like a classic Bring Me The Horizon tune but without it feeling like anything we’ve done before. Baxter Dury stars as the degenerate Slumlord&nbsp;in Tom Haines hedonistic new visual.Opening in&nbsp;a sickly yellow-hued studio set, Dury has his back turned towards the camera as he takes a leak in a prop toilet. And this pretty much sets the tone for the whole video.&nbsp;Smoking cigarettes as he wades through a mountain of 1p and 2p coins, the charismatic Baxter&nbsp;is the King of his rundown slum - represented by spartan but clever art direction. He's assisted by a&nbsp;handful of group of artfully shambolic and groggy dancers. Whether they are propped against dirty mattresses or performing a choreographed dance among kitchen chairs, this group lend a grimy edge to the proceedings.&nbsp;Lensed by&nbsp;David Foulkes, the unusual choice of coloured lighting, including hues of yellow and&nbsp;nicotine brown, creates a surprising&nbsp;aesthetic that gets under your skin. It's not always&nbsp;a comfortable watch, and you may feel a bit grubby by the end - but it's well worth it.&nbsp;

F*** this photocopier. Marika rocks her corporate hellhole in this simple, effervescent video by Louis Bhose.Somehow, Marika Hackman has ‘given up her soul’ for an ill-fitting suit and a dead-end office job. And she’s starting to wonder how she got here. In a fantasy sequence, she performs inside an enormous, strobing photocopier. Which she proceeds to smash.Hackman has charisma in buckets, or ‘BDE’, to borrow her phrase. In the visual cycle for her upcoming album Any Human Friend, we’re beginning to realise quite how much comic potential the songwriter has always had. Most recently, she had a star turn in Will Hooper’s dry and relatable <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2019/05/23/marika-hackman-im-not-where-you-are-will-hooper/58874">I’m Not Where You Are</a>. It’s a treat to see rockstar Hackman, and in&nbsp;classic pop video mode; The One could easily be a long lost visual for Heaven 17 or The Human League.The concept is Hackman’s own. According to Agile Films,&nbsp;the story behind it reads a little like this:“Marika Hackman: I want to do a performance vid in a photocopier, where the imagined rockstar in me performs with gusto as the mediocre, let-down version of me watches.Hack Video Director: say no more”.
