Sasha Nathwani launches a new phase of his music video directing career with this scintillating showcase for Tamil-Swiss singer-songwriter Priya Ragu, which combines elements of South Asian cinema and Kill Bill in a eye-catching style the director dubs 'Tamiltino'.Having celebrated&nbsp;South Asian fashion and culture in her previous videos, the video for&nbsp;Adalam Va! - which&nbsp;translates loosely as Let’s Dance -&nbsp;raises the bar in terms of visual elegance, choreography and pure physicality,&nbsp;with Priya mastering an eye-catching array of intense martial arts moves and energizing dance routines, created by the choreographer Supple Nam.The eye-popping action and performance elements also dovetail wonderfully within the striking splendour of&nbsp;Strawberry Hill House &amp; Garden, a place&nbsp;that is also clearly influenced by subcontinent architecture.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Adalam Va! is a most vibrant cocktail of electro-pop and soul-stirring South Indian sonics, with Priya’s voice rising like a beacon of positivity. “Adalam Va! is about hope in the darkest of days," she says. We wanted to express that feeling through this song and to get everyone on the dancefloor!”And Nathawani's well constructed visual captures the essence of the track with admirable wit and timeless cinematic glamour.“I’ve wanted to work with Priya for a while now," says the director. "This Adalam Va! video was the perfect opportunity. KLVDR's 11 minute epic for Stormzy's big return with Mel Made Me Do It is remarkable in a number of ways, and not least of course due to the star quality and sheer number of the cameo&nbsp;appearances. And yes, that does include the Special One...More to the point is the ambition of the piece. Fom the chatshow hosted by Jonathan Ross and ZeZe Mills, with Stormz sharing the sofa with Louis Theroux and Dina Asher-Smith - watched by Usain Bolt, at his home in Jamaica -&nbsp;to performance elements in the studio and the meeting with Jose Mourihno, to the momentous final chapter bringing a couple of generations of Black British talent together that includes a tribute to the late Jamal Edwards.At that point, Stormzy hands over duties to provide the spoken-word piece called Greatness - written by Wretch 32 and read by Michaela Cole. It's a&nbsp;quietly powerful climax of an impressive and entertaining production - this was a five day shoot,&nbsp;plus shooting Bolt in Kingston - that amounts to a big statement of intent by&nbsp;Stormzy - and reminds us of his unmistakeable charisma.&nbsp;&nbsp;And of course, the eponymous Mel, stylist Melissa Holdbrook-Akpose, namechecked by Stormzy in the songtitle, is there too, both behind and in front of camera - with her lint roller.

Jim Hosking delviers a deliciously daft, and ultimately joyous expression of female bonding for Warpaint's Hips.This has a quality of offbeat humour all of its own, based around the superb casting of this video and a terrific use of a classic English seaside location. Great stuff.&nbsp;“Hips has a scuttling intensity to it, it sounds like someone desperately trying to find something - or at least that’s what it seemed to me," explains Hosking. "I listened to it&nbsp;repeatedly and kept seeing women searching for each other in a seaside town. Ideas present themselves and it’s not about logic or reason, it’s about emotion. And here the&nbsp;emotion suggested identically dressed women finding each other in the English town of Southend-On-Sea.““The track seemed to have its own secret language and I wanted the women in the video to seem to have their own secret language too.”&nbsp;&nbsp;

Luke Logan-Malik's video for Cian Ducrot explores the distinctively Irish tradition of the wake, in his video for All For You.The singer-songwriter's song is a plaintive tribute to a loved one who has passed away, and Logan-Malik's film unpicks the layers of grief on an important day, with an authenticity that comes from having a non-professional cast who were seelcted for their own personal experiences of having recently lost someone close.[imgtoken data:1]<blockquote>I did a deep-dive into the traditions of how the Irish handle death.&nbsp;</blockquote>"After a run of car commercials, this project came up at just the right time," says Logan-Malik.&nbsp;"I was craving some human-led stories, and I think that urge probably dictated my approach to this film."The brief asked for an idea based around a wake, so I did a deep-dive into the traditions of how the Irish handle death. After spending way too much time reading old diaries and obscure folk tales, it was clear that I wouldn't need to use too much poetic license, given the wealth of iconography at hand.[imgtoken data:2]"So the approach was all or nothing, we cast three leads based on their genuine, recent experience of grief, which made for an emotional and sensitive casting process. More than a few tears were shed."We shot across three days in and around Cork, the most hospitable of shooting locations with the nicest of people. A small crew of three kept things agile, and as we were shooting in the cast's actual homes, it allowed us to be tactful and intimate in our approach. The whole experience was a reminder of why we do this - to tell human stories and find ourselves in unexpected places, with proper people."

This eventually builds&nbsp;to a sensational dance set-piece, and a mind-bending trip through warped cityscapes and slick choreography - which Sheeran enthusiastically dives into himself&nbsp;too, together with co-star Lil Baby.&nbsp;The project&nbsp;opens with a title card with a message from Ed Sheeran explaining that the video was shot in Kyiv before the Russian invasion&nbsp;of Ukraine two months ago, and that profits from the video streaming are going directly to DEC's Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal.&nbsp;
