Faux 'Take Back Time' by Will & Carly

The final part of a trilogy of videos directed by Laura Marling for tracks for her new album Semper Femina, is another dance piece featuring the choreography&nbsp;of Alexandra Green.The piece accompanying the hypnotic The Valley is also very much the flipside of the second part in the trilogy. Here the focus is on the woman on the beach, swathed in flowing blue robes - the object of desire&nbsp;for the tormented woman in the sunlit bedroom in the video for Next Time.This time the action leading to their&nbsp;eventual reunion is extended through the choreography, and the editing, for maximum dramatic effect, which makes their final embrace all the more emotionally satisfying.Suffice to say&nbsp;that having completed this beautiful piece of music - in fact the whole of Semper Femina is wonderful - Marling has now directed a compelling, conceptually rigourous trio of videos which shows she has a real talent&nbsp;as a visual as well as a musical artist.&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

This is the second of a trio of self-directed videos for tracks from Laura Marling&#39;s&nbsp;new album Semper Femina, and like the first, the emphasis is on female dance performance.Also like the video for the Soothing, Marling has collaborated with choreographer Ali Green on Next Time, but they set themselves different parameters, and explore a different aspect of female sensuality.&nbsp;The main performer is alone in a gracefully-styled master bedroom, and draws chalk circles around herself - and eventually escapes the self-imposed confines of the room to the beach where she meets another woman...&nbsp;

Two latex-clad female bodies intertwine&nbsp;in Laura Marling&#39;s self-directed video for Soothing, an intimate dance performance choreographed by Alexander Green which turns out to be less private than it first appears.&nbsp;Soothing is the first track released from Marling&#39;s forthcoming&nbsp;album Semper Femina, which continues her move into a more electric sound, started on her last album,&nbsp;Short Movie. She also began directing her own videos for tracks on the previous record, but this is her most assured effort yet, reflecting the lyrics, and the new album&#39;s themes of gender, sexuality and the female gaze.&nbsp;She told The FADER: &ldquo;I started out writing&nbsp;Semper Femina&nbsp;as if a man was writing about a woman. And then I thought it&rsquo;s not a man, it&rsquo;s me &mdash; I don&rsquo;t need to pretend it&rsquo;s a man to justify the intimacy of the way I&rsquo;m looking and feeling about women. It&rsquo;s me looking specifically at women and feeling great empathy towards them and by proxy towards myself.&rdquo;

Libby Burke Wilde directed this energetic performance video for The Fratellis&#39; Baby Don&#39;t You Lie To Me. Matching The&nbsp;Fratellis&rsquo; style with a&nbsp;suitably&nbsp;theatrical&nbsp;location was key according to&nbsp;Wilde, who chose&nbsp;Bush Hall for&nbsp;its crushed red velvet curtains and old chandeliers.Except for the opening shot, the rest of the video is all one shot, which we were informed is&nbsp;a tricky business to pull off, especially when&nbsp;the follow focus breaks&nbsp;at the last minute! Libby and her team clearly overcame the challenges however,&nbsp;delivering a watchable performance video&nbsp;that feels like you were invited to your mates&#39;&nbsp;rehearsal.&nbsp;
