Lucy Sandler directs an emotional one-take promo for LA-based indie pop duo Ill Peach.&nbsp;It's strikingly simple in concept - a one-take, upside down shot&nbsp;of vocalist&nbsp;Jess Corazza hanging off of a sofa - but breathtakingly&nbsp;executed.&nbsp;With a million emotions contained in her tearful composure, Corazza's performance is the sole focus&nbsp;of the video, and it's impossible to take your eyes off of her.To contain this performance within such a limited - yet beautiful - idea is a stroke of genius, and Sandler does a top-notch job at creating not just a video, but a piece of art.&nbsp;

In the video for Like I Used To, Kimberly Stuckwisch brings us into the separate worlds of Sharon Van Etten and Angel Olsen, two of the most influential singer songwriters in American music, then draws them together&nbsp;via split screen.The video is nearly entirely&nbsp;composed of portraits of each artist which emphasises their distinctive character. We are brought into their homes - one in the city, the other in the&nbsp;country. Van Etten rarely looks into the camera, Olsen invariably is looking straight down the lens.&nbsp;The song is all about getting back to where you started. But ultimately the pair do stand together in one space, with a sense of shared experience and solidarity.&nbsp;Stuckwisch has done a great job in delivering the message that&nbsp;the individual greatness of these intriguing women is enhanced by their collaboration.&nbsp;

A lonely kid from a broken family in small-town America, discovers a miraculous gift, in&nbsp;Kimberly Stuckwisch and Nelson De Castro's innovative video&nbsp;for Broken Bells, the musical project of Danger Mouse and James Mercer of The Shins, and last year's one-off single, Good Luck.As he escapes from his home, young Ralph (Flynn Zanco), can see that some people are distinguished&nbsp;by a special quality: their bodies become composed of&nbsp;beams of light. These are the&nbsp;people who are ignored and seemingly invisible - just like him. As the boy himself begins to take the same form, the organic nature of the 'light people' becomes even more evident, and confirms that this was not achieved by conventional digital effects.[imgtoken data:1]In fact, Stuckwisch and De Castro have supplemented the rich filmic quality of DoP&nbsp;Andrew Droz Palermo's cinematography, via an extraordinary method. The 'light ray' effect of the figures&nbsp;was created by hand tracing and laser-cutting over 4000 frames onto black card stock to create shape mattes.&nbsp;"Then we physically shined light and haze through each individual frame to produce the stop motion effect, before laying it back over the footage," explain the directors. "It gives it an old school animation feel, all done practically."&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;The painstaking animation technique creates a look and style that is nostalgic yet contemporary, but unlike anything else currently out there. Beautiful work and top-notch craftsmanship from the whole team.

I wonder if Carlos Lopez Estrada ever imagined his career would include a &#39;Sheep Choreography&#39; credit. I&#39;m sure within his eclectic repertoire and his increasingly far-reaching collaborations with Watsky he must be aware now that anything is possible.Set in a cartoonish dreamscape inside a kid&#39;s head, Watsky plays the shepherd of the sheep the young boy must have been counting in order to get to sleep in the first place (because someone&#39;s gotta look after them, right?!) It starts out harmoniously enough - sheep choreography et al &ndash; but unfortunately for Watsky it all seems to go awry quite quickly.Sheep die left, right and centre before being resurrected in a nightmarish fashion. None of that seems to bother the little kid though...

After the knockabout, boxing match fun of <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2016/08/11/watsky-ft-mal-devisa-midnight-heart-carlos-lopez-estrada" target="_blank">Midnight Heart</a>, San Franciscan rapper and slam poet George&nbsp;Watsky swiftly resumes his collaborating with Carlos Lopez Estrada, and the video for Brave New World is a corker.&nbsp;You know those cutout paper dolls you can dress up? There&#39;s quite a good paper doll book&nbsp;for Taylor Swift, in fact, but luckily&nbsp;these guys have appropriated the idea for a video before Swifty did. Watsky becomes the human doll, with different costumes and&nbsp;mind-boggling clothes combos falling on him then flying off every couple of seconds.The speed of change and variety of costumes is&nbsp;mind-boggling, which makes it a must for repeated viewings. Less obvious is the VFX that makes clothes fly on and fly off Watksy&#39;s body - that must have taken ages and its&nbsp;achieved brilliantly.&nbsp;Great stuff.&nbsp;
