Kofi Stone enters uncharted depths in his nautically-themed&nbsp;video for I Wish.Stone is&nbsp;decidedly stir-crazy as he sits in his home, chained by an anchor to his armchair, and marking off the days. In fact, he could just be crazy. And then the compelling reason for his confinement is revealed.&nbsp;&nbsp;Created by directing duo Evenings - that's director Andy Daly and DoP Scott Jones - this is a very watchable showcase for the rapper, who delivers a winning performance, right up to that&nbsp;satisfying twist in the tale.

Lisette Donkersloot's second video for NAO - following the splendid <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/08/05/nao-messy-love-lisette-donkersloot/72248" target="_blank">Messy Love</a> - the songstress occupies another near-abstract space that reflects the sentiments of the song.For Wait, a song which is an intimate look at how mistakes grow in a relationship, we see NAO against a blacked-out background on a small floral island. Then&nbsp;her body and others become islands themselves in this space, creating landscapes as they appear in varying sizes&nbsp;and proportions.[imgtoken data:1]“For this video I wanted to&nbsp;create a landscape out of body parts," confirms Donkersloot. "Over the course of the beautifully-sung ballad the camera travels through a water surface, past several tableau of NAO&nbsp;in different scales/proportions mimicking elements of a landscape, where she will star as the mountains, the rocks, landshore and also a human on land surrounded by water.”&nbsp;After a while, the sky turns into a beautifully gradient colour and NAO emerges as all landscapes at once, creating a gorgeous surrealistic dreamscape. Another wonderful example of the director creating a graphic sensibility that is perfectly attuned to the artist and her performance. &nbsp;

Lisette Donkersloot creates a gorgeously graphic combination of artist and dance performance for the triumphant return of Nao.Inspired by Infrared photography, and working with choreographer Shay Latukolan, the Dutch director builds a radiant spectrum of colour and movement around the East London songstress's compelling performance of Messy Love - an ode to self-love, self-respect and choosing peace over the never-ending struggles of a detrimental relationship.[imgtoken data:1]Donkersloot creates a little bit of magic with the combination of her&nbsp;studio staging - a series of ever-changing backdrops of sunsets in a range of colours - and the astounding dancers in their&nbsp;fantastic 'alien' mode: covered in indigo blue bodypaint and orange-coloured gravity-defying braid hair styles.&nbsp;&nbsp;The dancers perform an abstract choreography throughout the video to augment Nao's central position. They start out on the floor, then work their way up, portraying a metaphor of plants growing as they receive sunlight and water. In the end, they return to their original horizontal positions, holding on to their goddess NAO who is ready for a new circle of life.Ultimately the video reflects the theme of the song and Nao's empowering lyrics in Messy Love, about a&nbsp;relationship that’s on the rocks: "I won’t break, said I won’t change my ways not even this time”. This is just as graceful, uplifting and beautiful as those words.[imgtoken data:2]

Jon E Price&#39;s latest video for Blue Lab Beats - his follow-up to <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/02/07/blue-lab-beats-pineapple-jon-e-price">Pineapple</a> - brings us a sweet mini-fantasy of London life. It&nbsp;centres around three friends who perform an impromptu dance piece in an East End cafe, while the girl waits for the waitress to bring her apple pie and custard.Taking reference from the French expression &#39;Ooh la la&#39;, the dance is inspired by one of French New Wave&#39;s most iconic dance scenes, but visualised with eccentric Britishness. It works delightfully well for the band involved in the new wave of British jazz.
