Raja Virdi explores the thin line between good and bad for the big&nbsp;team-up of Marshmello, Mae Muller and Trippie Redd.&nbsp;The video for American Psycho takes place in a series of stylish custom-built sets, with a red and white colour scheme which represents the dichotomy of a toxic relationship.&nbsp;Muller and Redd thrive in their unique setups, and Virdi's use of dynamic transitions, animated elements and rhythmic editing keeps the video constantly engaging.[imgtoken data:1]"It was such a pleasure to direct this promo," says Virdi. "I'd been wanting to do a concept like this for a while and glad it fit the song so well. I love the themes of duality, and seeing the difference performance states of Mae between the red toxic sets and the white angelic sets."I really wanted to move the camera seamlessly between the spaces, keeping the visual constantly engaging with how we reveal new moments."Collaborating with my regular DOP Pieter Snyman and the insanely talented production designer Sarah Asmail&nbsp;ensured we found the rhythm for the piece and how best to give each space a unique feel for each artist on the song.[imgtoken data:2]"The turnaround was immense for this one with needing to shoot and deliver all within a week. But thanks to an insanely talented crew, we just about got there&nbsp;- albeit with little to no sleep, lol. Raja Virdi directs a signature&nbsp;one-shot video for an unexpected collaboration between Sigrid and Bring Me The Horizon's Oli Sykes&nbsp;on Bad Life.&nbsp;Bringing both a sense of scale and simplicity to what is quite an intimate idea, Virdi uses a stripped-back set as an environment for the two artists to inhabit and make their own.&nbsp;The cinematic visual is packed full of gripping moments and emotional performances, which take viewers on an engrossing journey.[imgtoken data:1]<blockquote>I tried to treat the music video as a gig&nbsp;in a way, moving up and down the stage.</blockquote>Sigrid has commented that&nbsp;her and Sykes wanted the video to be simple enough to&nbsp;emphasise the song's lyrics. "It’s a song that I hope can offer some comfort for anyone who’s having a rough day, knowing that it will pass," she explains. "We collaborated with Raja, and we ended on this dark, slightly surreal world of Oli and I on each side of a worn-down house, not knowing what the other one is going through on the other side."Oli’s such a natural performer, so I knew he’d be great anyways. I tried to treat the music video as a gig, in a way, moving up and down the stage.”Virdi says that the concept of the one-shot film was to lean into those themes, of getting through the 'bad life' to reach the other side.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:2]<blockquote>Life can feel like a rollercoaster sometimes. I wanted to represent that feeling...</blockquote>"Life can certainly feel like a rollercoaster sometimes," he says.&nbsp;"I wanted to represent that feeling with Sigrid and Oli performing on a theatrical, otherworldly sunken set in the middle of a vast body of water, which suddenly transforms into a stormy and thunderous surrealistic visual with the eventuality of reaching resolution."&nbsp;"Working with Sigrid and Oli was a dream," Virdi continues. "They are both extraordinarily talented performers and were absolute troopers through a long shoot day.&nbsp;The crew were fantastic and took what was a very challenging one-shot, head on. Huge props to the crane, SFX and lighting teams for working in synergy so well with all the cues and my backbone 1st AD Chris Malin making it all run smooth. Plus my incredible post team of colourist Connor Coolbear (and the entire ETC team) and the hero Jakob Thorhallsson who smashed the tricky VFX.&nbsp;"Much love to my production family in (producer) Joseph, Noir, my brilliant rep Claire and commissioner Connie for getting this all over the line."

From ballroom dancing to slick contemporary moves, the video celebrates the magic of the dancefloor whilst paying homage to traditional festive promos that have preceded it.&nbsp;It's a great addition to the Christmas Pop&nbsp;videography, and a welcome comeback to one of the UK's most distinctive voices.

It was honestly the most fun and so jokes. I was clinging on as I was being thrown about. Raja Virdi directs his fifth music promo for Passenger, this time a performance-led piece in the Scottish Highlands, for the wistful track Sword From The Stone.&nbsp;&nbsp;The video opens with Michael David Rosenberg - aka Passenger - in a stark, claustrophobic interior, before transitioning&nbsp;to the spectacular landscapes of the Highlands.&nbsp;Exuding a sense of freedom and escapism, the video was shot over two and a half days in September, combining drone footage and handheld work by DoP Pieter Snyman. Virdi's regular colourist Connor Coolbear adds a final layer of polish, with&nbsp;his dramatic yet considered grade.&nbsp;

And after <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2020/11/04/passenger-song-drunk-and-broken-hearted-raja-virdi/67614" target="_blank">A Song For The Drunk And Brokenhearted</a>&nbsp;and <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2020/11/16/passenger-suzanne-raja-virdi/67881" target="_blank">Suzanne</a>, Remember To Forget focusses upon an individual in the club who has had a few drinks too many, but remains surprisingly graceful on his feet.Brett Jones plays the drunk who staggers and sways around the bar with unusual elegance, and then engages with Passenger and his band's performance with endearing gusto, and eventually draws the rest of the club into a joyful dance routine.With choreographed by Jamie Neale, and a noteworthy performance from the nimble Jones - who has made a few good videos in his time, including for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2014/07/15/jungle-time-oliver-hadlee-pearch/27726" target="_blank">Jungle's Time</a>&nbsp;- Raja Virdi aims for that point between&nbsp;gritty realism and fantasy and hits the mark with this poignant song-and-dance video.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Raja Virdi directs his second in a trilogy of films for Passenger, with the emotionally affecting promo for Suzanne.The film is set in the 1950s, and follows&nbsp;a boy-meets-girl love story, with the concept that memories can last a lifetime, but time is limited. The narrative is a familiar one, but remarkable performances from the cast - in both present and past timelines - tie&nbsp;the concept together with a universal sense of regret and yearning.&nbsp;DoP Pieter Snyman captures a bubbly, youthful energy with swathes of golden light and plenty of intimate closeups, which contrasts with the present day environment - a cold, blue and lifeless room, which has lost any sense of fun or contentment, and has no attachment to the vivid memories in her head.&nbsp;The appearance of Passenger as the party band also adds a layer of meaning. They are present in both the past and present timelines - more of a ghost of a memory than a real physical presence, a soundtrack to a time which can no longer be experienced.&nbsp;

Raja Virdi directs his second video for Passenger, for the poignant A Song For The Drunk&nbsp;And Broken Hearted.&nbsp;Taking inspiration from Joker, we see Passenger and his band - all in clown make-up - play&nbsp;to an uninterested social club audience - intercut&nbsp;with&nbsp;multiple vignettes depicting the artist's&nbsp;unhappiness and willing to escape.The lovely cinematography by Pieter Synmanis the embodiment of downbeat mood of the song, with a depressed green colour palette and grimy aesthetic, creating a dichotomy between the seemingly upbeat music and the dark narrative.&nbsp;
