Adam Smith and&nbsp;Marcus Lyall's latest for The Chemical Brothers is a shot of lightning from the arm - a maverick, Japanese sci-fi B-movie sent from the future.&nbsp;A mousey businesswoman transforms into an intergalactic superhero to fight craterous monsters, furry cyborgs and a robot wizard. And there's Aurora too, dressed like Robot Boy.Lyall and Smith’s video has the renegade spirit of a cult movie. There are shades of&nbsp;Kung Fury, the low-budget Youtube movie that spawned an entire genre. And also of Ed Wood, the eccentric 1950s filmmaker, who directed the camp classic Plan 9 from Outer Space (It’s nice to imagine that if Wood were resurrected today, handed a 4K camera and a box full of lycra, he would have tried to make Eve of Destruction).The real hallmark of a Chemical Brothers video is a frenetic harmony of music, choreograph and editing. This is a shining example. The video is exhausting in the best way: no beat, bar or lyric goes by without a punch, a strobe or a spark. The costume design is also top-tier.&nbsp;The characters are not only original and impressive, they are also charmingly homemade, with fantastic costume design by Katie Tabor.And the sheer directness of the direction is best explained by the relationship that Smith and Lyall&nbsp;have with Tom and Ed of the ChemBros. Individually the pair work on very different things: Lyall creates light installations in grand public spaces; Smith is the legendary director of the band’s own Galvanize, as well as some of the best-loved episodes of Doctor Who and Skins.&nbsp;As a team they&nbsp;have been making the band's distinctive live visuals for years. And the Eve Of Destruction video was originally created as visuals for their live show.Best live visuals ever?

Charlotte Rutherhood invites you to a party in the dollhouse.&nbsp;Little Mix’s latest video&nbsp;is a throwback to doll commercials of the nineties and early noughties&nbsp;- for this interpolation of Soul II Soul's smash hit Back to Life.Rutherford’s plastic, hyperreal aesthetic is in full display, and her attention to period detail is uncanny. Bounce Back&nbsp;has the frenetic energy of a Hype Williams video and the Day-Glo production design of Saturday morning commercial.&nbsp;The so-bad-it’s-good styling - hairclips, faux fur, pastels and lycra - is pure Barbie, by way of Spice Girls. And that is to say nothing of the denim ensemble. This particular look is either a treat or horror for&nbsp;anyone who was around to witness Britney and Justin’s infamous outfits at the 2001 AMAs.

Escher&#39;s Relativity as a dip in a pool.Beginning simply enough with the band performing in&nbsp;a stark, white room, things quickly turn into a head-spinning VFX showcase as barely-clothed revellers swim from the walls and the ceiling. It&#39;s brilliantly cut by Sam Bould to keep the idea evolving throughout the video, but most of all, the thrilling visuals offer compelling evidence of the directors&#39;&nbsp;qualities as master craftsmen in music videos.Long overdue in fact. Ian Pons Jewell has outdone himself in his video for Irish rapper&nbsp;Rejjie Snow&#39;s&nbsp;Blakkst Skn, with a unique and captivating&nbsp;commentary on race set against a story of forbidden love.&nbsp;Like his video for&nbsp;<a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2015/11/19/nao-bad-blood-ian-pons-jewell" target="_blank">NAO</a>&nbsp;released a few weeks ago,&nbsp;Blakkst Skn is&nbsp;uncanny&nbsp;and more than slightly off-kilter&nbsp;scene which&nbsp;melds with the song lyrics and commands the viewer&#39;s&nbsp;interpretation. The video sees the rapper living in a sewer, accompanied by a homeless man and looked down at through a drainage opening&nbsp;by a red-haired woman who is at street level.Then, we&#39;re jolted by a&nbsp;thought-provoking sequence,&nbsp;revealing that&nbsp;the woman is anything but ordinary, as she&nbsp;turns Rejjie into a extraordinary,&nbsp;gold-skinned man.&nbsp;
