Rich Hall puts indie band Elephant Kind on an intergalactic tube train chockful of aliens - in his superb video for Love As.The production team at Riff Raff&nbsp;says: "Possibly the most extreme recce we’ve done in a while, was to the Moon and back. Rich Hall wanted to set Elephant Kind’s video there, so we popped over to get the vibe. But the train on the way back to Earth was just so packed with characters, it was like a casting director’s hallway. So Rich said f*** it, let’s just shoot it now."The DoP decided zero-gravity worked in favour of a spinning train carriage shot, and the producer agreed to pay travel expenses for being outside the M25, only because they’d save on camera kit by using alien drool to a dolly effect."So the band warmed up, and busted out their single ‘Love As’. A naughty schoolboy&nbsp;goes on a sugar-fuelled rampage, in French director and graphic designer&nbsp;So Me's promo for Riton's infectious Sugar - featuring&nbsp;Soaky Siren.&nbsp;The eccentric promo sees the young rascal (played by&nbsp;Ethan Wesley) tear up the town, stealing various sugary treats in a riotous, explosive adventure - much to the dismay of the poor people trying to go about their day.With&nbsp;frantic, in-your-face cinematography, a great supporting cast,&nbsp;some laugh out loud moments - as well as some lively choreography - it's a brilliant video that takes a fun concept and pulls it right to the edge of absurdity... and the track couldn't have asked for a more catchy visual.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2]

Arlo Parks's first new song since the release of her hugely successful debut album Collapsed In Sunbeams comes with a luminous visual by directing duo Zhang + Knight - their first&nbsp;music video since <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/01/14/london-grammar-lose-your-head-zhang-knight/68950" target="_blank">London Grammar's Lose Your Head</a> a year ago.For Softly -&nbsp;a song about "how fragile you feel in the dying days of a relationship when you’re still desperately in love" according to Parks -&nbsp;the directing team create a version of&nbsp;the real world which slowly unravels, layer by layer.What initially looks like an idealised, picture perfect&nbsp;location is gradually decontructed. The early sense of the singer being in a mid-century studio movie or musical is gradually undercut, as the staging is revealed and comes apart at the seams, leaving the constituent elements floating in surreal space.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]The marvel is that like their previous successful works for Eden and aforementioned London Grammar, everything is created in-camera - in this case at a film studio in Kiev."For us 'Softly' explored the idea of wanting something that was once perfect to end in a gentle way, and we wanted to express this using the world surrounding Arlo," explain Zhang and Knight. "We were instinctively drawn to the warm toned, hazy nostalgia of the 1960's, as we loved the idea of something universally romantic being slowly stripped away throughout the film."We based the colours of the bricks, trims and doors on mid-century painting in order to bake this romanticism into everything. The production itself was a huge challenge, as everything was captured in-camera with each piece of the set built on wheels operated by several production crew. However, we knew it was all worth it when we saw the skyscrapers dancing around Arlo for the first time."

Barns Courtney gets an endoscopy in a surreal doctors practice, in the video for Hollow&nbsp;directed by Mathy &amp; Fran. As the doctor uses a thin camera to search inside Courtney’s body, a 404 warning appears on-screen (a nod to the album title)&nbsp;and no organs can be found.That is until Courtney and his band appear, performing the song and jumping around the pitch black space. The doctor is alarmed, but she has just the medicine for it. From then on, things get weirder and weirder, until Courtney breaks through and rejects the doctor’s orders, turning the practice into his new performing space.The surrealism and colour palettes are reminiscent of Gondry, and Mathy &amp; Fran show that they have complete control over their signature style, perfectly balancing colour and texture to great effect. This one is a trip, and not to be missed.

A SNAFU of FYRE Festival proportions is saved at the last minute by director&nbsp;Max Siedentopf, who steps cheerily into Sigrid's role. Ironically, an apparent&nbsp;logistical cockup has made&nbsp;Mine Right Now&nbsp;a unique, winsome&nbsp;oddity, a&nbsp;tribute to teamwork and can-do optimism.Siedentopf, who is beginning to attract fans of his own,&nbsp;is endlessly memeable. If you have time, the YouTube comments section below his video is a treasure trove of #relatable jokes.&nbsp;The director explains his difficult situation below:"I’m very excited to share the latest music video I directed for the incredible pop artist Sigrid. However, this is not the video I was planning to shoot. We spent over a month preparing for the shoot which was supposed to be in the mountains of Bulgaria. We built all kinds of wonderful sets, however, the night before the shoot we found out that Sigrid wasn’t going to make it to the shoot due to several delayed and cancelled flights. A crew of over 40 people were left ready to shoot but with no artist to film. We could’ve decided to call it a day and just go home, but instead I was forced to take on the role of Sigrid and play her throughout the entire video. A funny irony as I usually come up with ideas but never have to play them myself."As you can imagine, everything is out of sync and my dance moves are so awkward they make you cringe, and my biggest fear is singing in public - you’ll never see me doing Karaoke!&nbsp;However that wasn’t the only thing that went wrong, during the shoot we had big weather storms, our sets collapsed, we got chased from the mountain by park rangers, there was a serial killer on the loose in the area, my dog passed away and much more. The shoot quickly turned into the FYRE festival of music videos but we decided to just keep on going and make a video for Sigrid.&nbsp;Big thanks goes out to my amazing team who all had the nerves, patience and humour to go through with this. I hope you enjoy it."

Henry Scholfield has the answer: you get together with Stormzy, and you make another London classic.Vossi Bop, first single from the new Stormzy album, inspires the first collaboration between director and artist, with the big man in some iconic London locations (starting on a deserted Westminster Bridge),&nbsp;featuring some gobsmacking moves (lounging on the bonnet of a moving car, naturally), and another cameo from&nbsp;Idris Elba, for good measure.Transitioning from epic scene to epic scene with the smoothness that characterised Boasty, and an intensity that never falters, Stormzy dominates the screen, as he shares it with his crew of all ages, with his customary easygoing charisma. And Scholfield, with his trademark combination of flair, musicality and meticulous eye, directs another superbly entertaining work.It's a real statement of intent, from start to finish - achieved, remarkably, in ten working days from sign-off to delivery. We&#39;re breaking from our usual code of&nbsp;music video exclusivity&nbsp;for this outstanding charity&nbsp;ad for FAD, or&nbsp;Foundation Against Drug Addiction, in Spain. It was submitted to us with the promise that it&#39;s &quot;more like a&nbsp;music video than an ad&nbsp;and was made on a music-video budget.&quot;&nbsp;Directed by Marc Corominas and Lorena Medina out of Blur Producciones &ndash;&nbsp;and narrated in English so that it&#39;s important message could be disseminated to a wide&nbsp;audience online - this PSA plays out like an energising appeal to go get a life. It&nbsp;challenges&nbsp;the viewer to find their&nbsp;passion, to&nbsp;embolden themselves by&nbsp;working towards a goal, ultimately,&nbsp;to find a purpose.The core&nbsp;belief of the ad boils down to&nbsp;when someone is busy building something (&#39;construye&#39; is &#39;build&#39; in Spanish)&nbsp;this fortifies&nbsp;them&nbsp;against the hazards of falling into&nbsp;drug abuse. A positive and indisputable message that is delivered entertainingly through a fastmoving&nbsp;series of random vignettes - both live action and animated.&nbsp;
