The slick video for Khalid by 91 Rules finds the Texan singer-songwriter in an abstract club space, cutting between solitary performance and being joined by a joyful mass of dancers.With excellent production design and a sizzling edit by Charlie Von Rotberg - one of the nominees for Best Editing In A Video&nbsp;at this year's UKMVAs&nbsp;- the video&nbsp;for in plain sight&nbsp;comes on the heels of news that Khalid is well underway in preparing to release his new album, After The Sun Goes Down. In an interview with GQ, he noted that his upcoming music will be largely inspired by his recent journey of coming out as queer.“I wanted to recreate the impact of music that inspired me, but through a queer lens and a queer perspective,” he told Euphoria magazine. “If I’m going to come into this industry again, and in a way start anew, I want to be the pop star that I always envisioned myself to be, that I was so afraid of becoming.”

Andrew Thomas Huang directs a striking promo for Brooklyn-based singer and DJ Yaeji, in collaboration with Microsoft.&nbsp;Filmed in Korea, the promo for Pondeggi&nbsp;is inspired by traditional hand games and beondegi, the Korean street food made from silkworm pupae. The video follows Yaeji as she transforms into a silkworm, engaging in a dreamlike journey to preserve the cycle of metamorphosis, while facing off against a 'techno-witch' played by the legendary Uhm Jung-hwa.Huang makes distinctive use of AI to realise a vision which in some respects shares the sense of the incredible that was a characteristic of his use of VFX when he first broke through as a visual artist. And this was created&nbsp;in partnership with Yaeji and Microsoft as part of the Artifacts: New Experiments in Art &amp; AI initiative - one of three commissioned projects.&nbsp;This groundbreaking project explores cultural memory and transformation through AI-driven innovation, showcasing how AI can expand creative possibilities while preserving human artistry.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Huang and Yaeji integrated AI tools—including Microsoft Copilot and open-source AI technologies—to enhance the storytelling, introducing unexpected and surreal visual elements.&nbsp;“The benefits I found from the technology were all in the form of happy accidents—results that were dreamlike that I didn't even know were possible,” says Yaeji.Andrew Thomas Huang adds: “Microsoft’s tools were great conduits for preserving the integrity of the original performance while translating it into this fantasy world, taking inspiration from nature and silkworms.”The result is a&nbsp;hallucinatory visual making great use of the technology and resources at the creative team's disposal.&nbsp;Huang and Yaeji discuss their collaborative process <a href="http://unlocked.microsoft.com/artifacts" target="_blank">here</a>.

Yung at some point sports an Uncle Sam outfit. The biggest artist on the planet is also no slouch when it comes to directing her own videos, as this very ambitious and stylish video proves - featuring Post Malone, and released within hours of the surprise release of Taylor Swift's new album Tortured Poets Department.&nbsp;The video pays homage to various&nbsp;film aesthetics going back a century, evoking early silent films and Tiim Burton's Gothic style - and it was shot by DoP Rodrigo Prieto,&nbsp;Oscar-nominated this year for his work on Killers Of The Flower Moon.&nbsp;It's all black and white (nearly) but it's also a Taylor Swift video through and through, complete with out of this world visuals and intimate, yet scene-stealing performances.&nbsp;Weaving a beautiful narrative between a woman locked in a surreal, asylum-like building, and the man of her dreams who fights to save her (Malone), with brief cameos from Ethan Hawke and Josh Charles (from Dead Poets Society), the video is a feat, spanning several set builds and a range of standout styling moments.&nbsp;The opening two&nbsp;scenes in particular&nbsp;are an absolute knockout.Taylor does it again...&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

In this respect, Anderson's latest video for The Smile is a wonderful experiment.The band - Thom Yorke, Johnny Greenwood and Tom Skinnner -&nbsp;get on with the job of performing a song which may be the their finest achievement to date. They set up shop in the school hall whilst the kids file in to the benches and then spectate, giving unfiltered reactions that range from apathetic to awestruck (usually when the lightshow begins).&nbsp;It's a wonderful visual, meditating on the relationship between musicians and their audience, and builds to a poignant, engaged finale, which will warm up even the coldest of hearts.
