Nick joined UNIT in 2016 after meeting UNIT&rsquo;s Head of Colour Grading Scott Harris and has since been one of the facility&rsquo;s rising creative talents. Working within the already successful Grade team has enabled Nick to build on his career in crafting beautiful images. One of Nick&rsquo;s stand out jobs was a Music Promo for Sampha &ndash; Blood on Me, a beautifully shot, experimental film on 16mm.Most recently finished a series of ads for Toyota as well as being part of the team some high profile jobs such as&nbsp;Hotels.com&nbsp;, Let Go Norway and This Girl Can. He also recently delivered a beautiful grade on Alice Jemima&rsquo;s promo for her new single &ldquo;Take Me Back&rdquo;. Nick has recently been enrolled for a second year into the Bafta Crew and BFI film network.

Jim Wilmot finds an excellent way to tug at the heartstrings for Lewis Capaldi's tearjerker - filmed at Terminal 5 at Heathrow Airport.&nbsp;This sees&nbsp;Capaldi setting up to do an acoustic solo performance of new hit Wish You The Best in the Arrivals section at&nbsp;the Terminal, watched by a surprised group of expectant friends and family who are waiting to be reunited with loved ones.&nbsp;Cue a rollercoaster of emotions that we have all experienced when seeing our families after an extended period of time, captured in a very affecting way.&nbsp;With both docu-style footage of the reunions and a more posed portrait for the camera, it's simple yet impactful&nbsp;concept, executed to perfection.&nbsp;And it is destined to bring a lump to the throat - just as the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZLxVvLyKTo" target="_blank">official video for Wish You The Best</a> does.&nbsp;

Stephen Agnew directs a curiously offbeat promo for Arborist.&nbsp;The video for Matisse sees the artist perform in an industrial location, whilst the making-of the video is referenced and interpolated right back onto screen. It takes a bit of wrapping your head round the concept to understand it, but in some ways, that's the beauty of the video.&nbsp;Confused yet? Let director Stephen Agnew explain...&nbsp;"Interpolating an interpolation before interpolating that interpolation," says Agnew. "My jumping-off point for this video is Lars von Trier's film The 5 Obstructions,&nbsp;itself a film that interpolates Jørgen Leth’s Perfect Human."I thought it would be fun to use this as a device to literally frame and&nbsp;interpolate the works of art and artists Mark mentions in the song, including but not limited to an inordinate amount of screen time dedicated to a urinal."After we set this premise we extrapolated it, inverting and slowing the footage while referencing ourselves making the video, via a Gondry-inspired camera setup before FINALLY revealing the artifice of the whole project. "A sort of snake eating its own tail. But a fun snake made of cheap wood, cardboard modern art, cellophane and a LOT of favours."

Marc Owens &amp; Marc Sullivan parody business speak and corporate jargon in the delightfully cheesy video for Blue Sky Thinking.&nbsp;The lo-fi stock footage aesthetic mirrors this cacophony of terminology perfectly and&nbsp;if you've ever worked in an office, the lyrics to this track will likely be painfully familiar.&nbsp;Marc does a brilliant job of playing the overly upbeat and intense CEO, superimposing himself in Microsoft screensavers and tedious report sheets as he barks directions at his nodding-dog underlings. The visuals get more hallucinatory and uncomfortable as the video progresses, as a dystopia of corporate nonsense unfolds on screen.The project is hilarious but dizzying, conjuring nightmares of middle management and pointless meetings in a Groundhog day-style loop.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ollie Wolf has created a beautifully-crafted short film for British singer-songwriter Tom Walker, exploring themes rippling through British society that have arguably been brought into sharper focus by Brexit.Nathan Wright plays the man who, despite his own tough times, helps a desperate stranger - a East European woman escaping from slavery (played by&nbsp;Daniela Spataru).&nbsp;Their subsequent road trip&nbsp;touches on a darkness&nbsp;in England&#39;s heartland, made palpably real by some excellent performances and direction, and great photography by Nick Morris.Ultimately Wolf delivers a sense of hope in the connection that develops between this unlikely couple, thrown together by fate and conscience. But it&#39;s certainly a grimly recognisable portrait of England now. &nbsp;

After excellent&nbsp;work with the video for Alice Jemima, James Heaphy now directs another Sunday Best artist, and perhaps appropriately, the director says his video for Laucan is an exploration of themes of prayer and ritual.The reality of impending devastation over London - waiting for the impact, as per the songtitle - leads three individuals to find solace in different places to undertake activities from which they derive strength. As Heaphy says, these are &quot;physical acts in which we can resolve inner conflict but also have ability to affect the world around us.&rdquo;As with <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/07/31/alice-jemima-take-me-back-james-heaphy" target="_blank">Alice Jemima&#39;s Take Me Back</a>, Nick Dalby at UNIT in London&nbsp;was the colourist. &quot;With such a soulful and atmospheric track, it needed a dramatic cinematic film to go compliment it,&quot; he says. &quot;I think we&#39;ve achieved that with the dark and surreal look into the lives of three very different people while a meteor is heading to impact earth. For me it tells a great story of our diverse and exciting city we live in.&quot;

An inspiring journey through the memories that give us confidence and carry us through the mundane. James Heaphy&#39;s dreamy clip for Alice Jemima is a wonderful study in mood and memory.Shot in multiple aspect ratios and featuring a hazy mix of good times, beauty, and boredom, Heaphy manages to take us on a stream-of-conscious journey across moods and moments worth savouring. Storing these vignettes away for the times when it feels like there&#39;s nothing exciting happening is what keeps us going &#39;til the next adventure - a feeling Heaphy manages to capture expertly.The video was shot on Alexa with some vintage 70&rsquo;s lenses - 4:3 for the flashbacks, and 16:9 anamorphic for the current day footage. It was graded by Nick Dalby at UNIT post - who&nbsp;says the different timelines posed a challenge to be relished in the grade.&nbsp;&ldquo;It was great working with James on this,&quot; says Dalby.&nbsp;&quot;His style and vision allowed us to create this beautiful promo for Alice Jemima. We wanted to be able to&nbsp;differentiate between the present and the past [so]&nbsp;we chose a stronger, grainier film look for the flashbacks, and a cleaner, crisper colour grade for the present shots. Also adding extra style by changing the aspect ratio between these two sections resulting in this unique look.&quot;

Following on from Thomas James&#39;s <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2016/07/20/honeyblood-ready-magic-thomas-james" target="_blank">MVA-winning video for Ready For The Magic</a>, featuring a gang of feral young girls, his next collaboration with Scottish pop-punk duo Honeyblood features another deceptively deadly female. It&#39;s the Season of the Witch.&nbsp;&nbsp;Emerging from the sea&#39;s murky depths in the guise of a beautiful woman - the Sea Witch of myth and lore claims her first victim on the beach before making her way to a house party, where Honeyblood just so happen to be the entertainment. It&#39;s a low-key masquerade ball in a house awash with blue and purple light, where the sea witch&#39;s true hideous appearance begins to be revealed to the viewer.Of course, as any good fable-cum-horror story, the Sea Witch ensnares a victim to lure back to the beach, and then&nbsp;to the ocean floor... Darkly comic, weird and fun.
