Director

Nick Carter

Nick Carter's video for musician and DJ Dimension and singer Karen Harding is a stripped-back live performance elevated to something cinematic and expansive.Set within AIR Studios' iconic Lyndhurst Hall in North London, the film leans into contrast - pairing the scale and grandeur of the space with an intimate, emotionally-led performance of Guardian Angel. Strings, live instrumentation and Harding’s vocal take centre stage, while Dimension’s production is reinterpreted with a softer, more human touch. It's an expansive, absorbing visual, which allows viewers to meditate on the performance through gently lingering shots and a breezy edit. Lovely work. [imgtoken data:1][imgtoken data:2]

Reimagining

Dimension, Karen Harding 'Guardian Angel' by Nick Carter

Dimension,-Karen-Harding-'Guardian-Angel'-by-Nick-Carter

Nick Carter directs a striking visual interpretation of Sara Landry and Alt8's hard techno anthem around dancer Aimée Ruhinda's vibrant performance. With a combination of dynamic choreography and performance by Ruhinda - who embodies the music's driving intensity - and the atmospheric industrial setting, Carter creates a powerful synergy between sound and movement, with visuals that mirror the underground roots of the track, as both the director and DoP.With a visual palette dominated by shadowy tones, interspersed with vivid flashes of light that punctuate the track’s crescendos, the video for Heaven not only amplifies the track’s emotional impact but also cements Sara Landry’s place as a defining voice in hard dance.[imgtoken data:1]

Sara Landry, Alt8 'Heaven' by Nick Carter

Sara-Landry-'Heaven'-by-Nick-Carter

Nick Carter and Obaro Ejimiwe - aka Ghostpoet - co-direct a thought-provoking promo for the artist's track Oh Lord!Taken from the twice Mercury Prize-nominated artist's new EP Am I The Change I Wish To See?, the song was inspired by a moment of contemplation about what it would look like to see Black people enjoying themselves in Heaven. And for its part, the video takes the viewer on a communal journey that transcends the conventional depiction of Heaven.Instead of portraying the final destination, it envisions an intermediary space - a spiritual halfway point where the essential inner work required to reach Heaven is carried out. This space encourages viewers to think, connect, forgive, show love, and find self-acceptance- elements we often struggle with in our daily lives.Imbued with an aesthetic inspired by Romanticism-era art, the video is atmospheric and arresting, feeling almost liminal in its presentation. With a heavy focus on art direction and textural, abstract cinematography, it's an absorbing visual that leans into the themes of the concept.[imgtoken data:1]
