Dua Lipa is back, and we are with her all the way on what turns out to be a frenetic and stressful night out.From bar, to masked ball to night club, Dua's night on the town with the girls - which starts with her dealing forcefully with unwanted person, represented by a POV camera&nbsp;- Nabil's video for Don't Start Now is&nbsp;breathlessly fastmoving, where the artist is trying to keep her composure and have fun in a series of&nbsp;crowds. And the overall effect is decidely claustrophobic.From the eyes in the paintings that follow&nbsp;her around the room at the masked ball, to the spotlight upon her in the club crowd, to the face briefly spotted in the bathroom, Nabil offers hints at the mindset of the artist, having to deal with the ups and downs of her stardom. There's certainly plenty of material here for the fans to get their teeth into.&nbsp;

What seems at first like a conventional music video quickly turns, via&nbsp;a trippy taxi ride and an&nbsp;unpredictable traipse to a bizarro&nbsp;hotel, into something quite different.&nbsp;Nabil&#39;s new&nbsp;9-minute short film-music video&nbsp;for Vince Staples is a journey through he psyche of the rapper.&nbsp;Shot over four&nbsp;days in sweltering Dominican Republic, with photography&nbsp;by British DoP Rina Yang,&nbsp;we follow Vince as he saunters off the set of his latest convenvional&nbsp;music video set, and then things go strange. He crosses paths with dancing tribespeople, before meeting an off-kilter cab driver with special powers.Strange&nbsp;sounds and visions distort his understanding of what&#39;s real, as&nbsp;Vince arrives at a seedy hotel where lost artists are holed up in smokey rooms.&nbsp;And as screaming fans pop in and out of existence,&nbsp;the bamboozled&nbsp;rapper&nbsp;ends up taking extraordinary measures. Is Staples paying the heavy price of fame?&nbsp;We&#39;ll leave the&nbsp;interpretation up to you.&nbsp;

Nabil reunites with Foals, and tries his hand at interactivity with this visually impactful&nbsp;360-degree video for&nbsp;the band&#39;s Mountain At My Gates.It&#39;s a high-octane&nbsp;performance video&nbsp;which sees lead singer&nbsp;Yannis Philippakis multiplied as he navigates all over the screen. Storms, dogs, birds, brutalist buildings&nbsp;and jagged mountains create an epic backdrop to the starkly black and white video shot entirely on the GoPro Spherical system.&nbsp;Editor Gareth McEwen&nbsp;at Speade Editing reveals that putting the different elements of the video together&nbsp;was a very difficult but very rewarding process.&nbsp;&quot;Cutting in 360 is a brain melting but utterly absorbing experience,&quot; he says. The possibilities it provides for editors, and for filmmakers as a whole are endless, and I could bore for Britain with my &lsquo;imagine this, imagine that&rsquo; rants.&quot;Offline wise, you work with the image, &lsquo;unwrapped&rsquo; in that the point on the far left and far right of the screen are the same point, behind you.&nbsp;Thus it&rsquo;s a case of constantly bearing in mind that what&rsquo;s happening at the side of the screen is just as important as what might appear in the middle.&nbsp;None of that &lsquo;picture safe, title safe&#39; malarky here.&quot;Nabil is a&nbsp;very&nbsp;clever director and he completely nailed it on the shoot. As well shooting some cracking static performances, he had Yannis&#39; moving takes to lead the viewer&rsquo;s eye. Plus some great texture shots with the birds, dog and the extras, not to mention the effects that would come in post. There wasn&rsquo;t a pixel on screen that hadn&rsquo;t been considered.&quot;Excellent fun, and very rewarding to edit. All I need now is an Occulus Rift headset so I can truly make the most of the full visual experience.&quot; &nbsp;

Here at Promo News, we&#39;ve been waiting patiently for the release of full uncensored director&#39;s cut of the&nbsp;Vince Staples video for Señorita.&nbsp;Forget the watered-down version on&nbsp;YouTube, because Ian Pons Jewell&#39;s bleak satire on modern America has to be experienced as it was meant to be seen.Shot in an austere&nbsp;black-and-white, the video sets up a bleak, dystopian world in which the inhabitants&nbsp;of an&nbsp;American ghetto are overlooked by gun-toting guards in tall watch towers. The residents are&nbsp;prisoners - as if in a cage - but set out anyway on a dangerous act of defiance.&nbsp;A&nbsp;man recites Future&#39;s hook,&nbsp;holding up a prayer&nbsp;book&nbsp;with the Vince&nbsp;Staples&nbsp;logo embossed, leading a group of marchers who are gunned down one by one...And if this commentary on the state of modern America wasn&#39;t extreme enough, the ending deliveres a final, disturbing blow.&nbsp;

And when the guy in the black robes and the big book turns up, your number may be up...

Like with many art forms having the most interesting concepts is key and then knowing how to execute them in a way no one else can; priceless. Nabil is that person. Each project is individual. They stand alone yet within themselves are cohesive. It is this talent that has encouraged artists such as Kanye West,&nbsp;Frank Ocean, Bon Iver and Foals to repeatedly&nbsp;employ Nabil. You just don&#39;t know what you will get.In this case&nbsp;the contrast of the English countryside and an American low rider set the tone matching the collaborative clash of James Blake and Chance the Rapper on Life Round Here. Somalian pirates, booty shakers and a priest walk onto set. Although it sounds like a joke, it&#39;s just another day in the life of Nabil. We were lucky enough to catch up with Nabil and find our what makes drives him to succeed, his thought process for this project, and what track he want to work on next with James Blake...You&#39;ve worked with James Blake before, did that make it a lot smoother process this time round?Yeah it definitely helped. &nbsp;We got along well on the last one and I&nbsp;think because he was happy with that process it definitely created some trust. &nbsp;Plus we go out for pints in London town which helps. &nbsp;&nbsp;Did shooting in the rain affect your plans at all?A lot of factors that day affected the shoot &ndash; a short day with Chance, hitch problems on the loader, rain&hellip; &nbsp;But somehow it all came together and we worked with what we could -&nbsp;which was about an eight-hour shoot.You openly love juxtapositions, did the genre-crossing nature of the track influence you when creating the concept for the video in this case?Definitely. I had Chance and James in London for one day, so I&nbsp;thought lowrider, English countryside, black and white, black and white, and a little more black and white. Put it all together and see what happens.. &nbsp;&nbsp;All your work is diverse. Would you say individuality is important in your approach to creating a promo?I would say there is nothing particular to my approach except I&nbsp;want to make something awesome!
