Martin J Pickering directs a gentle, dreamlike promo for Scottish folk artists Scott William Urquhart and Constant Follower, that evokes the power of imagination in childhood.Pickering's video for&nbsp;Watching The Black River Run - from&nbsp;folk guitarist Urquhart and Stirling-based group Constant Follower's collaboration&nbsp;on new album&nbsp;Even Days Dissolve -&nbsp;tells of a little girl’s adventure, when the paper boat she makes disappears down a stream and into a river, with her favourite doll sitting inside.Then the little girls becomes the passenger in the boat, travelling through stunning landscapes and connecting with the natural world. With a sense of&nbsp;nostalgia for a simpler time, and a heavy dose of magical fantasy, it's an uplifting work that perfectly encapsulates the music.&nbsp;

In the final instalment of Martin J Pickering’s video trilogy for Morcheeba’s new album, the journey from the ocean (in <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/02/02/morcheeba-sounds-blue-martin-j-pickering/69267" target="_blank">Sounds Of Blue</a>) through the darkened landscape&nbsp;(in <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/03/31/morcheeba-moon-martin-j-pickering/70193" target="_blank">The Moon</a>) culminates in a forest filled with smoke, mysterious figures and mythical creatures, for Killed Our Love.This is based around a band performance, and Morcheeba's charismatic frontwoman Skye Edwards.&nbsp;But there's a sense of the surrounding forest coming alive, with folk creatures, and watching eyes. Only the lunar powers that be can decide where she will end up…The cinematography of DoP&nbsp;Luke Biggins, and&nbsp;the VFX work of Matt Bowmer,&nbsp;pays&nbsp;homage to Sin City and gothic aesthetics, and the performances are top-notch. Keep your eyes peeled for the final part of this absorbing and haunting&nbsp;project.&nbsp;

Martin J Pickering directs a haunting promo for veteran dream-pop duo Morcheeba.Reminiscing about singer Skye Edwards' first experience of free diving, the concept intertwines elements of surrealism and theatricality, presenting an otherworldly environment that seems to live and breathe on its own.&nbsp;The use of luminscent fabrics and clever projection mapping creates a magical version of the ocean, whilst several other materials are recycled to represent different elements in the vibrant,&nbsp;on-screen world.&nbsp;DoP Thomas English uses off-kilter angles and smooth transitions to represent the ocean waves, smooth yet discernible, whilst the art direction adds an extra layer of polish to the concept.Skye was also heavily involved in the look of the video, having made her own dress from scratch, finding the boat, building the mast and choreographing a dance to encompass each of these things.

Collaborating again with Kav &ndash; guesting on this track for Robson &ndash; Martin J Pickering directed this cinematic performance-based video.Shot by Mark Pickering, on the Movi Pro rig, in and around the Barbican and the back streets of Shoreditch, the video has striking, contrasting visuals of brutalist architecture and colourful urban graffitied streets.All in all, a great example of low-key, guerrilla-style filming on the fly by the Pickering Brothers.

"Pane tells the story of a young man starting out at university," explain the directing duo. "Our main character has had a tough upbringing and has never had a party before so he decides to throw one. However, before he does he needs to experience some other student parties first..."
