Thora Hilmars rouses the world back to life in her stunning video for Of Monsters and Men.&nbsp;Shot just before lockdown, the promo is inspired by the Icelandic "dark season" and the aftermath of madness.&nbsp;Performing in a neon-lit warehouse, the group attract a series of unique characters, all of whom are waking up to their new realities.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Thor Eliasson captures a sense of wonder and awakening through contrasting the artifice of the inside world with the abundant nature of the outdoors, reflecting on what life means to each of us and how we live out our days on this planet.&nbsp;

Following her video for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/04/17/%C3%B3lafur-arnalds-remember-thora-hilmars" target="_blank">re:member</a> earlier this year, Icelandic director Thora Hilmars has now directed a follow-up for her countryman, the BAFTA-winning artist/composer/producer&nbsp;Ólafur Arnalds, for unfold.As Hilmars explains below: &quot;The videos are connected. They both take place in a post-Apocalyptic world and their stories are intertwined. But the atmosphere in each video is vastly different.&quot;&nbsp;Ólafur Arnalds comments:&nbsp;&ldquo;This is my breaking out-of-a-shell album. It&rsquo;s me taking the raw influences that I have from all these different musical genres and not filtering them. It explores the creative process and how one can manipulate that to get out of the circle of expectations and habit.&rdquo;&nbsp;

BAFTA-winning artist, composer, musician and producer Ólafur Arnalds has unveiled his new track re:member, with a video from director Thora Hilmars, in which a young man must prove himself in a machismo culture - and has a special place in society. In fact, he&#39;s the Youngest Person Alive.The track&nbsp;features groundbreaking new software, Stratus, developed over two years by&nbsp;Arnalds&#39;&nbsp;and&nbsp;audio developer Halldór Eldjárn, which transforms the piano into a self-playing, semi-generative instrument. And&nbsp;the video&nbsp;is a poignant counterpoint to the track, where the young man undergoes a dangerous initiation with his buddies, in a world where procreation has apparently ended.&ldquo;The video touches on elements of masculinity and how men communicate their feelings,&quot; says&nbsp;Ólafur Arnalds.&nbsp;&quot;But also the hope and joy we can find in each other when we manage to connect with each other or something that we share.&rdquo;

After a long time focussing on their commercial work, Arni and Kinski show what music videos have been missing with this lovely&nbsp;showcase&nbsp;for Norwegian singer Aurora.The Icelandic directing team made their name with unforgettable videos for their countrymen&nbsp;Sigur Ros more than a decade ago. Now they have returned to their homeland to provide&nbsp;the setting for I Went Too Far, and to frame a powerful symbol of the emotional torment and regret&nbsp;at the heart of the song: a seemingly endless ladder, emerging straight out of the sea, and from a mossy cave.Beautifully shot by DoP Kevin Phillips &ndash; who travelled from Mexico to work with Arni and Kinski on the project &ndash; the locations provide the video with that unmistakeable otherworldly quality that not only works for their visual device, its perfect for the elfin Aurora. She&#39;s quite&nbsp;otherworldly too, and (as with her previous videos) she&nbsp;gives a tremendously heartfelt performance here. She could turn out to be the real thing.&nbsp;&nbsp;

In it, we join a young woman in her disorientation,&nbsp;as she steps out of the vehicle armed with her flashlight, before&nbsp;finding a key on the ground....Then spotting her lover who was with her&nbsp;in the car, she runs towards him&nbsp;but he runs away from her, leading to a series of perplexing shots where she struggles to make sense of where she is. Unfortunately, their vehicle rolls&nbsp;away from the pair,&nbsp;leaving both of&nbsp;them alone in the darkness.&nbsp;
