Gabriel Moses directs a powerful short film for Little Simz.&nbsp;The promo for No Thank You feature segments from five songs from the new album, and presents a powerful sequence of emotional vignettes, each tied to the lyrics of the track in an inventive, elevated way.&nbsp;The thematic landscape of the album centres on distrust in record labels, mental health and generational trauma, and these themes are weaved into the spectacular imagery across this ten-minute film.&nbsp;Switching between a heavily&nbsp;abstract, sometimes surreal style, and stripped back performance to camera, Simz is here to get her message across in a bold, unabashed way, and this surprise release is another example of her unmistakeable talent across music, visuals and music culture as a whole.&nbsp;

Sasha Barbin and Ryan Doubiago's new video for M83 is a spectacular sequel to the acclaimed videos that the French producer released a decade ago.&nbsp;In 2011, M83 released a trilogy of videos for the album Hurry Up, We're Dreaming&nbsp;- directed by Fleur&amp;Manu. These films, produced by Division, told the story of a community of children gifted with supernatural powers who escaped from a school where a covert government force kept them locked up."To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the album, M83 wanted to illustrate a fourth piece, a fourth chapter that would take place in the same universe. But rather than setting it ten&nbsp;years later, we wanted to go back to the origins," explain the directors, Barbin and Doubiago.&nbsp;"That's why this story acts as a prequel to the trilogy - taking place ten years earlier in order to highlight the first moment one of these children uses their supernatural gifts."On the way to the hospital and moments before his birth, the child’s parents are victims of a horrible car accident. The unborn child is forced to use his powers to save them from within the womb. The idea was to show the literal birth of a superhero."The cinematic, stylised aesthetic encapsulates an emotional narrative and high-stakes drama scenes, whilst the use of slow-motion&nbsp;helps elevate the emotional pull of the concept. The visual effects also play a key role in both the narrative and the overall concept, and&nbsp;Mathieu Jussreandot does a brilliant job in this role.&nbsp;

Two families come together to celebrate the christening of its newest member, in&nbsp;Hannah Rosselin's brilliant promo for Mykki Blanco.&nbsp;Representing an amalgamation of Blanco's dreams of a successful personal and professional life, the video celebrates the idea of family and togetherness - an increasingly poignant theme given our last year of isolation.&nbsp;Sometimes hectic, at times completely absurd&nbsp;- with a matriarchal figure emptying her bladder on the street as the opening image - the video's main focus is on the freedom to be unabashedly ourselves.&nbsp;Shot in Paris, DoP&nbsp;Cesar Decharme leans in to the concept's celebratory energy, using handheld camerawork and clever transitions to match the magical vibes.&nbsp;

William Laboury, winner of a Best Video Newcomer Award&nbsp;with his Bonnie Banane video at last year&#39;s UKMVAs, returns with this absorbing and ingenious video for Agar Agar, addressing the perils of VR in one of the most entertaining ways yet.A girl &ndash; played by Garance Marillier, acclaimed young actress from French movie&nbsp;Raw &ndash;&nbsp;dons the VR glasses which takes her into a digital forest, where she becomes the magnificent dog that she pines for in her bedroom. Then the real world and its VR equivalent run in tandem, as her canine avatar runs through verdant digi-forest while she blunders blindly through her Paris neighbourhood.It&#39;s a cool idea, and Laboury seamlessly ratchets the action up from the humourous to something more thrilling, without losing the dreaminess that matches the song.
