Following the success of last year's Glue Song, Jake Erland directs a charming single-take promo for&nbsp;beabadoobee.Full of ballerinas, a butler and, of course, Bea herself,&nbsp;the video for The Way Things Go has an artistic, painterly aesthetic, with some truly outstanding art direction and styling.&nbsp;It's an unexpected yet brilliant change of vibe for Bea, who worked closely in collaboration with Erland on the idea, and shows a fascinating ambition for bold concepts and situations that will challenge&nbsp;her as an artist.&nbsp;A must watch, and one that will certainly&nbsp;be on repeat over the summer period.&nbsp;

Directing duo&nbsp;NWSPK create an effortlessly slick promo for Ragz Originale.With a breezy, nostalgic aesthetic and a focus on pure performance, the video feels filmic and intimate, which is reflected in both the shoot style and format, as explained below:"We wanted to create a flowing endless movement to reflect the smooth vibe of the track," say NWSPK."We eventually settled on a mix of slowly spinning camera moves, taking inspiration from classic Spike Lee films such as 'Mo' Better Blues&nbsp;and his signature dolly shots."Ragz is always adamant on shooting 16mm film which is a joy when the artist&nbsp;pushes for this as much as we do. This helped us create a classic New York/Brooklyn 90s/00s feel which there are nods too in the track, but still felt uniquely UK R'n'B."

Jamie T has a nighttime romp through the city, in Niall Trask's promo for 90s Cars.&nbsp;Sitting in the passenger seat of a car, we see a bruised-up, bloodied&nbsp;Jamie chill out&nbsp;as a blur of nighttime scenery passes by.&nbsp;Stopping by the river for an impromptu performance, the narrative of the video is left mysterious and secretive, instead focusing on the cinematic driving vignettes.&nbsp;

The Safdie Brothers meet&nbsp;Blade in Milo Blake's surreal, visceral video&nbsp;for Biig Piig's Fun.&nbsp;This intense horror-drama begins at full-throttle with Biig Piig playing one half of an outlaw couple, who are deep in&nbsp;an argument after a robbery gone wrong. Then a dark energy engulfs the couple, transforming them into vampiric alter-egos of themselves.With menacing new auras, chaos then ensues - with a lone medical worker carrying blood supplies as the pair's hapless&nbsp;victim.&nbsp;In terms of the nature of the narrative this is&nbsp;quite the metamorphosis for Biig Piig, who steals the show in vampire villain mode.&nbsp;Meanwhile, the surreal aesthetic and horror concept has the wider impact of visualising the idea of toxic love, and how the darker side of our personalities&nbsp;can run riot in the heat of an argument.It's another&nbsp;intriguing step forward for Milo Blake - this time into a&nbsp;tangibly creepy netherworld&nbsp;- with the help of excellent cinematography by&nbsp;Deon Van Zyl, and a kinetically breathless edit by&nbsp;Lainy Black.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Emmanuelle Soffé directs Poppy Ajudha's Playgod, a powerful pro-choice statement prompted by the recent Alabama abortion bill and other pressures on women’s freedom across the globeThe song questions the right of men to lay claim to women’s bodies, and Soffé's video&nbsp;grounds Ajudha’s anger in a series of low-lit scenes, with a chorus of women exploding into movement in time with the song’s ferocious chorus, making a physical expression of women’s grief and rage.Elsewhere, scenes depicting Ajudha in Virgin Mary-esque stylings show the grief that even Mary herself feels for Christian ideologies being warped in the name of ‘God’, while a glitter-laden performance from the singer depicts the sanctity of the female body.[imgtoken data:1]"When I first heard this track, with just a few hours to write a script, it struck me that the most powerful way to approach a video concept for a song like this was through simple and raw expression of emotion," says Soffé.
