Jay Green reunites with Kam-BU to deliver a biting and very timely state-of-the-nation satire to accompany the rapper's fierce polemic against the current Conservative government.&nbsp;Kam-BU's lyrics for Eton Mess speak about how current government legislation treats the working class population with contempt, and how the Tory party is making a mockery of the British political landscape. In the video, the artist is working in a corner shop, while the latest in a series of puppet prime ministers - Richard Fibber - is making false promises on TV.[imgtoken data:1]Inspired by the most famous of all puppets, Green has Fibber's nose get ever-larger and longer, Pinnochio-style, as he spins out more lies, and makes more backroom deals. Meanwhile Kam-BU is the disillusioned everyman who stands up to him and the government, taunting him online and off.&nbsp;And with an&nbsp;uncanny sense of art representing life, the lying&nbsp;and cheating soon catches up to the man in charge.With a captivating, fast-moving style, including superb use of both prosthetics, VFX and animation, Green packs a huge amount into the less-than- two minute running time - and sends a message of hope that good people can still bring bad people to account.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Jamie Benyon directs an affecting video for South London band Bears In Trees.A young man, struggling with his mental health, gets a small box delivered to his front door. Within that is a drive that contains footage of him and a girl in happier times, on a day trip to Brighton.&nbsp;Benyon&nbsp;shifts between the digitally-shot present-day and the Super 8mm-shot home movie footage of the day trip to build the story, and effectively weaves them together in a well-crafted narrative that features strong performances by the main protagonist&nbsp;Elliott Eason&nbsp;and&nbsp;Jackie Tamayo. The changes in format also works&nbsp;well with the unconventional folk-like structure Little Cellist, that switches&nbsp;between vocal and speech elements."Bears In Trees created a beautifully poetic song, which demanded a powerful story and distinct images to convey the piece’s particular tone," says Benyon. "We settled on a surreal world, employing reversed digital photography whilst intercutting with the nostalgic feel of Super 8, to replicate the experience of memory."Making the music video to the Little Cellist has been one of the most challenging and creatively fulfilling filmmaking experiences in my career and I think we created something really special."

Sophie Muller directs a haunting promo in reverse for regular collaborator Birdy.&nbsp;Following the stripped-back seaside vision for Surrender back in January, the video for Loneliness encompasses the same vulnerability and wistful performance style, with a more conceptual and experimental aesthetic.&nbsp;With cinematography by Robbie Ryan and art direction from Alison Dominitz, Muller&nbsp;mixes contemporary, dilapidated locations with vintage patterns and materials, giving the project a universal and timeless feel. The desaturated colour palettes elevate the melancholic atmosphere, and are reminiscent of their previous collaborations, and one of the director's most iconic visuals, Nelly Furtado's Try.&nbsp;The use of reverse footage adds another layer of surreality to the promo, representing the themes of loss and loneliness, and the feeling that things aren't quite what they seem.&nbsp;

slowthai and Skepta reinterpret some of the most iconic horror moments in cinema history, in The Rest's ominous promo for Cancelled.&nbsp;Opening with an homage to the early Noughties&nbsp;Budweiser commercial&nbsp;Whassup?&nbsp;&nbsp;- itself a spoof of Scary Movie -&nbsp;the video soon descends into utter chaos, as the artists embody characters from American Psycho, Texas Chainsaw Massacre and more.&nbsp;The tongue-in-cheek performances and slowthai's cheeky demeanour help take the edge off what could be quite a grisly concept, instead landing it squarely into parody territory.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Pieter Snyman cleverly intertwines elements of nostalgia and contemporary aesthetics to create a fresh style and look, which perfectly encapsulates the various narrative strands and iconography.And as this the just Part One of two videos, no doubt there is much more knockabout fun and madness heading our way in the near future. We await with bated breath...

slowthai's latest banger MAZZA - featuring A$AP Rocky - gets an off-the-scale trippy and super-stylish visual treatment from regular collaborators The Rest, with the rappers in adjoining hotel rooms, dealing with the effects of munching on a couple of&nbsp;questionable apples.Having directed some of slowthai's best-loved music videos - including BB, Gorgeous, Ladies and North Nights - and serving as his long-time creative directors - The Rest (that's Alex Motlhabane and Lewis Levi) have upped the ante on production design and VFX to overcome the difficulties of shooting in COVID times.&nbsp;The directing duo&nbsp;shot the artists in separate shoots in the UK and US, weaving their performances together by virtue of the coordinated looks of the rooms, frenetic shooting style with super-wide lenses, and the reality-warping VFX. The result is&nbsp;an insane trip of featuring bulging eyes, floating sofas and hallucinogenic room service, with two of the most watchable rappers on the planet.[imgtoken data:1]

That makes this a very rewarding, genuinely cinematic experience.
