Charlie Robins directs a hypnotic promo for The Comet Is Coming.&nbsp;Unabashedly wild and atmospheric, the visual sees a small group of people driven insane by an enigmatic force, visualised in the form of a circle.&nbsp;Kept purposefully vague, Robins combines live action with elements of animation, demanding&nbsp;viewers to come to their own conclusion as to what's happening. One thing's for sure, it's not your everyday scenario.[imgtoken data:1]"This was always going to be pretty nuts," says Robins. "I had a great conversation with the band about the new album called Hyper Dimensional Expansion Beam. That name was enough of a jumping off point, and I just threw a load of crazy shit at it. It felt right to be weird and post-apocalyptic but also disorientating and fucked up. I wanted to make people feel a bit sick in all honesty. "The music is so crazy yet intricately put together, there is something beautifully chaotic about it which fit very well with some post and camera techniques I’ve been developing for a while."I worked very closely with the immense team at Agile (particularly the post guys!) to make this film happen. What a seriously talented, generous and wonderful bunch of humans they are."&nbsp;

Fenn O’Meally directs a touching promo for&nbsp;Lil Silva and Sampha, combining modern and archive home video footage, filmed in&nbsp;London and Jamaica.&nbsp;The concept for new track Another Sketch&nbsp;creates a symbiotic relationship between the past and the present, connecting the two worlds and sketching a visual and cultural history, placing the act of congregation at the heart of it all.[imgtoken data:1]Utilising a mix of both newly-created and vintage footage, the film explores&nbsp;the characters and zeitgeist of each time period, through&nbsp;a celebratory, emotional lens.The video is book-ended with the text 'he waves back home', and it's&nbsp;a wonderful way to encapsulate the entire concept in one short phrase.&nbsp;"This project has a special place in my heart," says O'Meally. It's no mean feat to match the scale and ambition of Introvert, the first track from Little Simz's forthcoming&nbsp;second album. But Salomon Ligthelm has done it with this extraordinarily powerful video - imaginative, inspirational and, above all, just as&nbsp;epic as the song.Introvert is&nbsp;visceral essay about black people's lives,&nbsp;fuelled by fear,&nbsp;exhaustion, frustration and political awakening. Ligthelm's brilliant work captures the essence of the powerful emotion driving Simz's track with a stunning collage of choreography, performance, archival news footage, classical painting, home movies, and a brilliant sense of Simz's home city.The video was shot across a range of London locations, including some very grand ones -&nbsp;the Natural History Museum and Wallace Collection, as well as Peckham and Crystal Palace sports complex. Ligthelm uses a&nbsp;chopped-up, collaged structure to reflect the landscape it maps, with a succession of stunning images and sequences, shot on a mix of formats - but&nbsp;predominantly Super 16mm and 4-perf 35mm film.Ligthelm first worked with Simz on the&nbsp;Top Boy&nbsp;promo for season 3, and at the end of 2020 they talked about collaborating on a video together for her new music. The result, Ligthelm's first work since joining Prettybird in London,&nbsp;is an absolute classic of the form, where every department has excelled.Wonderfully shot by&nbsp;Joel Honeywell, brilliantly edited by Elise Butt, the riveting combination of photography, choreography and editorial, as well as direction and performance, echoes the work of director Mark Romanek, and Beyoncé, no less. Danish director Nina Holmgren has created a gorgeous showcase for the rising singer Justine Skye, that's also a knowing commentary on our obsessive relationship with screen technology - and features some notable members of Skye's celebrity fanbase.In the video for Intruded - which is bookended by two other tracks from her debut album Space &amp; Time - Skye is the glamorous figure in various scenarios that riff upon corporatism, surveillance culture, outmoded yet classic technology and voyeurism.Whether she's surrounded by rows of CCTV cameras, or banks of TVs and DV cams, Skye is the cool, self-possessed, high-fashioned presence in a&nbsp;range of visceral textures, from vinyl to leather to silk.[imgtoken data:1]The cameras carry multiple images of the singer from the range of cameras, and also of the notable others - Timbaland, who produced her album, Lil Yachty and Bella Hadid, the latter uttering random phrases.Holmgren was influenced by the pioneering video artist Naim June Paik, with at least one explicit nod to his screen-based artworks. And this is something of a work of art in itself. A wonderfully crafted work by a director with a forceful eye.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
