Stephen Agnew&nbsp;of Never Ending Fun returned to his native Northern Ireland for this passion project for Aborist&#39;s&nbsp;song Twisted Arrow, and to document, with only slight embellishment, the&nbsp;locals&#39; love for the ways of the American West.&nbsp;It&#39;s&nbsp;an underrepresented aspect of life in the Province,&nbsp;captured in a charming and heartfelt documentary that was&nbsp;shot over St Patricks Day weekend.

The problems of empty-nest&nbsp;middle-aged couples is an unusual&nbsp;subject for a music video, but with this one for Tropics&#39; Rapture, Chris Toumazou takes it on, and does a very impressive&nbsp;job.It&#39;s the portrayal of an ordinary, council flat-dwelling couple left in an emotional void&nbsp;when their only son leaves home. The gritty realism of the situation is emphasised by&nbsp;the cinematic look - it&#39;s shot on 35mm. But in keeping with Tropics&#39; soulful ballad, it&#39;s ultimately&nbsp;a lot more sweet than downbeat, as the midlifers make tentative steps at rebooting their relationship.&nbsp;Chris and&nbsp;Tropics (aka Chris Ward) and good friends, and their previous video together, for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2013/07/05/tropics-home-consonance-chris-toumazou" target="_blank">Home &amp; Consonance</a>, was nominated for an MVA.&nbsp;There&#39;s a good interview with Tropics about the video &ndash;&nbsp;and his new musical direction &ndash;&nbsp;on <a href="http://noisey.vice.com/blog/the-new-tropics-video-is-what-happens-when-your-parents-leave-home" target="_blank">Noisey</a>, although the interviewer is a bit obsessed with &#39;fruit porn&#39; - see picture above.&nbsp;

Shot on location at the Crumlin Road Prison in Belfast, Lucy Tcherniak contrasts very poignantly Hudson Taylor&#39;s acoustic ballad Weapons, with the brutal reality of life as an inmate.&nbsp;Starring Liam McMahon and a cast of locals playing the other prisoners&nbsp;and screws, producer Ben Falk explains:&quot;Lucy cast Liam after seeing his performance in Steve McQueen&#39;s &#39;Hunger&#39;, and quickly discovered there was no challenge she could throw at him that he wouldn&#39;t rise to.&quot;They worked very closely on developing the narrative, under continued consultation with ex-offenders Michael Diamond (playing Liam&#39;s cellmate) and Kieran King (playing the lead screw) whose input was invaluable in creating something authentic, basing many of the scenes on their real life experiences.&quot;
