Sasha Nathwani launches a new phase of his music video directing career with this scintillating showcase for Tamil-Swiss singer-songwriter Priya Ragu, which combines elements of South Asian cinema and Kill Bill in a eye-catching style the director dubs 'Tamiltino'.Having celebrated&nbsp;South Asian fashion and culture in her previous videos, the video for&nbsp;Adalam Va! - which&nbsp;translates loosely as Let’s Dance -&nbsp;raises the bar in terms of visual elegance, choreography and pure physicality,&nbsp;with Priya mastering an eye-catching array of intense martial arts moves and energizing dance routines, created by the choreographer Supple Nam.The eye-popping action and performance elements also dovetail wonderfully within the striking splendour of&nbsp;Strawberry Hill House &amp; Garden, a place&nbsp;that is also clearly influenced by subcontinent architecture.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Adalam Va! is a most vibrant cocktail of electro-pop and soul-stirring South Indian sonics, with Priya’s voice rising like a beacon of positivity. “Adalam Va! is about hope in the darkest of days," she says. Luis Hindman directs promo full of yearning for Joesef - set on two different crowded dancefloors.Following previous collaboration for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2022/02/23/joesef-its-been-little-heavy-lately-luis-hindman/75129">It's Been A Little Heavy Lately</a>, the video for&nbsp;East End Coast sees Joesef drifting through&nbsp;an atmospheric&nbsp;club packed with a mixed crowd of revellers and kissing couples. He is seemingly the only one alone among this hipster crowd, reflective and lipsyncing to the melodic song.The fact that he is pining from a lost love from his hometown of Glasgow is brought home by the introduction of another, slightly less crowded dancefloor, of a gay club - this one distinguished from the other also by the blueish tinge in the grade and a different aspect ratio - with Joesef himself in a smooch with a boy.[imgtoken data:1]It's an evocative&nbsp;display of love and loss, told through an atmospheric and hyperreal aesthetic, beautifully shot by Sam Meyer. Joesef also gives an excellent downbeat performance amid the fevered atmosphere&nbsp;of the London club, and Luis Hindman handles this tricky juxtaposition of the two settings, to bring out the emotion of the song, really well.&nbsp;Joesef told Attitude Magazine that the video was very important to him. "If I'd seen a wee guy from the east of Glasgow necking a lad in a music video back in the day I'd have felt a bit less alone."

Maxim Kelly takes South London band Tiña down the pub for a heart-to-heart and some magic realism for their single Closest Shave.&nbsp;Taken from the band's acclaimed debut album Positive Mental Health Music, Kelly matches the breezy blend of surrealism and humour in the track&nbsp;with his inventive take on a one-shot video. It's a dreamlike journey into a cinematic London, a combination of the familiar and the off-kilter, that begins in a rain-lashed car park, past the band sheltering in a doorway, and then heading into the cozy indoors of the pub.With the song describing a chat between&nbsp;lead singer&nbsp;Joshua Loftin and his dad, and lyrics describing the world as “nervous like a big dinner plate”, Kelly makes the flamboyant frontman the&nbsp;focus of proceedings, popping up in different sequences, including talking to his actual dad Rufus in the video, surreally veering into an underground walkway, before completing a pub performance with the band, to an audience of men, slow-dancing with each other.Kelly&nbsp;used various methods to create this 'one-shot' - without calling upon motion control. Kasper Häggström creates a brilliantly absurd satire for this&nbsp;previously unreleased Radiohead track.​A spectacularly surreal&nbsp;premise is delivered in the Norwegian&nbsp;director's&nbsp;characteristically precise and measured fashion&nbsp;-&nbsp;people in suits are standing in fields, moors and woods - like grazing animals - being rounded-up&nbsp;by a trio of&nbsp;farm hands. And this leaves the viewer plenty of room to ponder the significance&nbsp;and symbolism of&nbsp;they are witnessing.[imgtoken data:1]Ultimately, it turns out that these creatures are being returned to what would be regarded as their natural habitat - a timely comment on the post-lockdown moment and rush back to 'normality'. But by this point you may be sighing with relief.Radiohead have taken Häggström into a darker level of comedy&nbsp;than&nbsp;we have seen in his previous videos, which is a fascinating development. He looks like a very good match for the great alt-rock&nbsp;band.&nbsp;&nbsp;
