"We wanted to portray this aspect of reality through a sense of metamorphosis where the more the video progresses the more Laurel’s reflection changes until she doesn’t recognise herself. To me, subtle moments like this feel quite close in representing that transient journey.[imgtoken data:1] "This psychological narrative is driven from Laurel’s subconscious as she escapes a party and ends up finding her power again. When we fall into Laurel’s dream world where time-freezes, all the girls have weapons to protect themselves in some way."This feels like quite a rebellious image that links to the contrast in the lyrics of being a ‘good girl’ and a ‘bad one’ as women are stereotypically told to be in line and sweet. So it was fun playing with that and showing female energy in an empowering way."

Blake Claridge directs a poignant and&nbsp;meditative promo for modern classical artist Alexis Ffrench.&nbsp;The video for Guiding Light builds upon themes of love and loss, and depicts a woman standing on the shoreline, allowing the waves to wash over her bare feet, while&nbsp;an upright piano stands&nbsp;just metres away. Then Ffrench himself appears, playing the refrain of Guiding Light on the piano.&nbsp;The idea of connection to nature and to a higher power is elevated by the stormy, unsettled weather, and the subtlety of the performance allows viewers to impress their own experiences onto the concept and form their own attachments to the music."On the recce, the sun was out and I had planned things for the perfect sunset," explains Blake Claridge.&nbsp;"But this is England,&nbsp;so on the shoot day we were coming off the back of a storm and shooting in torrential rain. But it was perfect, and just created more drama to what was always going to be a pure and simple piece."

Favourite Colour: Black&#39;s latest video for British singer Jasmine Thompson is a peaceful, nostalgic portrait of youth.Cutting between a sparse piano performance in an old, hazy function room and the more colourful elements of youthful hijinks, the promo depicts young people doing what young people do best: having fun. Exploring abandoned places, playing sports and hitting up the fair at night is all standard fare for the cast in this video, but the smiles on their faces seem melancholic when contrasted with the sad nostalgia of the track and the slow-motion pacing of the edit - as if trying to hang onto every moment for as long as possible.

Jake Jelicich collaborates with Dua Lipa for this incredible raw live performance with a cinematic flavour.Taking the massive Martin Garrix EDM track and reimagining it as a live&nbsp;orchestral piece, the performance has a stack of sonic texture, which Jelicich expertly complements by taking advantage of anamorphic lens flares, and beautiful film grain (courtesy of some wonderful cinematography by Rina Yang).The end result is a graceful and atmospheric piece in which both camera and performer melt in and out of the shadows.

High Contrast, aka Lincoln Barrett, falls foul of an unsympathetic audience in Chris Turner (aka Favourite Colour: Black)&#39;s video for Shotgun Mouthwash &ndash;&nbsp;which features on the new T2 Trainspotting soundtrack. In fact he finds himself in a roomful of Begbies...Turner reveals that the video was inspired less by Trainspotting than Marina Abramovic. &quot;It came out of a conversation with Lincoln where he said he&rsquo;d always wanted to make a video where he gets beaten up by the crowd,&quot; explains Turner. &quot;This reminded me of the Marina Abramovic &#39;Rhythm 0&rsquo; experiment - so we set out to do something where Lincoln is attacked with increasing hostility by his audience.&quot;&nbsp;&quot;Due to the nature of the song, this was the first video of mine where I had to perform in it myself and not just singing but acting, with stunts, too,&quot; adds Barratt.&nbsp;&quot;So it was quite a challenging prospect for me but thankfully we found a great director in Favourite Colour: Black who was very collaborative and encouraging. The team he put together were fantastic and the rehearsal before the shoot with the stunt team was invaluable in making everything run smoothly on the day as there were so many stunts and they all involved me getting bashed about!&quot;It also helped that the set felt like a real movie shoot with a great cast of character actors who were very easy to bounce off and most of the time I didnt really need to act but rather just react naturally as they were so convincing. It&#39;s also crazy to see the clips from T2 Trainspotting in the video, cutting from shots of me singing to Renton and the gang &ndash; pretty mindblowing for someone like me who saw Trainspotting as a young teen and got their first taste of dance music and club culture from it.&quot;

Live 3D projection mapped masks of fire and colourful swirls against a slew of coloured backgrounds beamed right onto the silhouetted face of Empara herself - it&#39;s a truly engrossing watch and technology we&#39;d love to see more of in the future!Empara&nbsp;spent time with the software creators in Japan developing animations specifically for this video - apparently the first music video to use this facial mapping technology.&nbsp;The video was shot using sensors to detect and track the position and orientation of the human face, then video animation was projected onto it, adjusting accordingly in real time as the face moves.&nbsp;

Chris Turner - aka Favourite Colour: Black - gets together with his former assistant, and now up-and-coming director&nbsp;Tash Tung co-direct this surreal,&nbsp;disorientating video for electronic trio Wrangler, led by Stephen Mallinder, former frontman of Cabaret Voltaire, fearless synth and music video pioneers of the early 80s.Here Mallinder unhoods himself in a deserted place, and uncovers an unlikely&nbsp;murder scene, and a journey that leads disconcertingly back to its start.&nbsp;&ldquo;I never like music to have a single diagnosis, it should be what we each want to see and hear,&quot; says Mallinder. &quot;So it was fascinating to see how Chris and Tash&rsquo;s ideas and imagery in the video resonated with mine, and how the film worked so well with our music.&quot;&nbsp;The video was shot in Dungeness in Kent, and Mallinder continues: &quot;Also we all agreed it would be good to have a nod-of-the-head to the early Cabs videos I made with Peter Care, always walking and with me wearing - in this case rather disturbingly - eye make-up. I feel I am quite terrifying in the film which feeds into the unsettling nature of the track.&nbsp;And it was filmed in both Chris, and my, favourite place in England.&quot;
