Andreas Nilsson's video for Miike Snow's <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/2012/02/13/miike-snow-paddling-out-by-andreas-nilsson/" target="_blank">Paddling Out</a> was nuts. Now comes the second part of the Jean Noel saga, and its even more bonkers. 
The alien spaceship which abducted Noel and subjected him to bizarre plastic surgery to turn him into a rocknroll Lionel Messi, has crashing to earth, creating deadly havoc in a playground. Now there are dozens of rocknroll Messis running around the crash site in the desert - and lots of cops with doughnuts.
It's all the unique comic brainchild of Andreas Nillson of course. Meticulously crafted, wondrous in its lunacy. And presumably part three is coming...

In Trigger Happy Hands, his short film-cum-video for Placebo, Andreas Nilsson brings us the story of Bubbles, who witnesses an act of terrible violence, and eventually is egged on to avenge that act by his new friends in the Militia. But then, what do you expect from a bunch of clowns. 
It's a thought-provoking allegory of outsiderdom which is, as you'd expect from Andreas, darkly comic and memorably weird. Co-written by Nilsson and Jeff Tetreault, shot by Mattias Keonigswierser and edited by Ben Campbell at Cut &amp; Run, the film was created in collaboration with Placebo's label Dreambrother and Atticus Clothing in another of those modern brand-sponsorship funding deals. 
And there are two cuts - the full-length ten minute short film and shorter pop vid version, both here.

You've seen the posters, now watch the video. Hot Chip, New Order's Bernard Sumner and remixers Hot City team-up for Didn't Know What Love Was, and Andreas Nilsson has directed the peach of a promo. 
All kinds of surreal stuff and nonsense of the Andreas variety involving multiple versions of the Hot Chip chaps, hairy drummers and switch-editing. But the star of the show is Barney Sumner, with shadow in tow: unashamedly middle-aged, but well cool. 
It's all part of Converse's <a href="http://www.converseblog.com/uk/music/" target="_blank">3 Artists, 1 Song</a> series - developed with creative agency Anomaly New York - as part of their bigger commitment to music. And there's a second Converse-sponsored video from Terri Timely on its way.
