Kelela has us under her spell throughout&nbsp;A Message, her latest promo directed by Daniel Sannwald&nbsp;(the man behind i-D&#39;s frenetic visuals for M.I.A.&#39;s&nbsp;Y.A.L.A.) and&nbsp;shot by Jake Scott.&nbsp;The video commands our attention through its staccato of poignant,&nbsp;slow-stuttering beats paired with the&nbsp;gripping,&nbsp;intimate&nbsp;portraiture of Kelela&#39;s performance.&nbsp;In the video, Sannwald&nbsp;plays with light and&nbsp;bathes&nbsp;Kelela&nbsp;in hues of red, purple and black representing&nbsp;the stage that comes before lust, the darker realisation of love.&nbsp;Capturing the moment&nbsp;Kelela&nbsp;cuts off her trademark dreadlocks, the video ends&nbsp;with the LA-based singer-songwriter being transformed into an animation manga-style character, created and directed by&nbsp;Fantasista Utamaro.A Message&nbsp;is taken from her forthcoming EP&nbsp;Hallucinogen, produced by music wunderkind Arca.&nbsp;
