The Shantics&#39; lead singer Jimmy Morris has taken it upon himself to shoot the video for Heaven- a real homemade homage to the classic rock &#39;n roll frontman that we see all too rarely now.&nbsp;It&#39;s just Jimmy strutting his stuff, performing Heaven, in front of a simple but graphic backdrop, shot on a locked-off, lo-fi digital camera. He&#39;s got a bit of the&nbsp;Jaggers, the Iggys, and the Davids (Johanssen and Lee Roth, that is)&nbsp;about him. But he happens to be in a generation that doesn&#39;t usually do that stuff, which makes this all the more surprising.And when Jimmy takes his vest off... well, that&#39;s just pure&nbsp;&#39;Diet Coke&#39;...

A boy and a girl embark on a classic pre-romance rite of passage - the mock-serious chase - in and around the&nbsp;unmistakeable streets and buildings of Havana, in Brett Simon&#39;s&nbsp;video for Snow Patrol&#39;s Empress.Beautifully shot by Dustin Lane, winner of Best Cinematography at last year&#39;s UKMVAs, the action and chemistry between the young actors is captured with the fresh yet classic style of the French Nouvelle Vague. It&#39;s a superb&nbsp;accompaniment to a properly rousing Snow Patrol song - the second single from the band&#39;s new album Wildness is their best in ages.Brett Simon has created imagery for the whole album, to be unveiled when it&nbsp;comes out later this month. The Empress video seriously whets the appetite for that.

William Baker, Kylie Minogue&#39;s influential creative director for many years, and now working with the Killers, makes a significant step as a music video director with this blissful dream of a video for new pop star Nuuxs.The video for Real Love (from her Pearl EP), in which Nuuxs and pals take a trip to the country on a beautiful English summer&#39;s day, and pair off with each other, was inspired by&nbsp;Sofia Coppola&rsquo;s The Virgin Suicides and Ryan McGinley&rsquo;s photography - with a nod to the eroticism of Bertolucci&#39;s The Dreamers.It&#39;s also the first result of Baker&#39;s signing as director to new production outfit, Iron Age Pictures, set up by producer Matthew Clyde.
