Kojaque and Spencer Young direct a shadowy promo for Casio.&nbsp;Journeying through personal stages of reflection and the restrictions of identity, the video depicts Kojaque and a group of friends - including featured artist Maverick Sabre - wandering through a desolate industrial landscape, accompanied by a glowing figure - Kojaque's ghost-like alter-ego.&nbsp;&nbsp;It's an eerie yet poignant concept, and is remarkably dreamlike in its aesthetic. The use of gritty textures and a monochromatic colour palette enhances the surrealist vibes of the project.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Rob Akin directs a&nbsp;melancholic&nbsp;portrait of stifling loneliness&nbsp;within a marriage, in his video for Jorja Smith's Home.&nbsp;The concept of 'home'&nbsp;can mean different things to different people - for some, it's a physical location, for others, it's a feeling of warmth and safety within a relationship.&nbsp;In the video, Akin explores&nbsp;emotional disconnection between a woman and her husband. On the outside, it seems they have it all - a beautiful home, a happy child and a lavish lifestyle. But beneath the surface, deep cracks are forming, and Smith bears witness to the turmoil, in her role as a Nanny within the family dynamic.&nbsp;It's a poignant emotional rollercoaster, with Akin's subtle direction emphasising the role of the unhappy wife, played by&nbsp;Kattreya Smith. Jorja Smith - who was the&nbsp;creative director on the project - also does a top-notch job with her supporting role, flexing her acting chops in an inspired yet naturalistic manner.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Ian Roderick Gray was nominated for a UKMVA for his last collaboration with Charlie Winston - a live video&nbsp;of the singer-songwriter performing <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2020/05/04/charlie-winston-lost-memory-ian-roderick-gray/64634" target="_blank">Lost In The Memory</a> at a villa in the South of France. Now they collaborate again in another memorable location - La Frette Studios in Paris - for Here I Am.As the director&nbsp;explains below, the idea was to document the recording process of the song at La Frette and give it the dynamism of a music video. Subtitled, 'The Anatomy Of The Song', Gray has demonstrated how layers of sounds and intrumentation were added to the track via a simple method of a continual circular camera motion.&nbsp;Starting with Winston laying down the vocal track, he is then joined by each accompanying musician in turn to build the sound of Here I Am: tabla player&nbsp;Aref Durvesh, singers&nbsp;Maria Marolany and Marieline Marolany - and then finally legendary cora player&nbsp;Toumani Diabaté.[imgtoken data:1]

Savvas Stavrou returns to his native Cyprus for his latest video for Jamie McDermott, aka The Irrepressibles, to visualise the themes of unrequired love and heartache in The Most Beautiful Boy.Evocative imagery capturing the intense&nbsp;friendship of two young boys is counterpointed with the anguish of one of the boys, now an adult soldier. He is mourning the loss of his friend, but this&nbsp;'present-day' scenario is more figurative than the journey into the past: the child's body he carries is a symbol of his loss, his pain is expressed through sharp movement.Stavrou and his DoP Luciana Riso make excellent use of the island location too, spanning lush greens for the nostalgic sections of boyhood adventure, to the arid whites, and rocky beaches of the soldier's world.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]

Lola Young teams up with director duo The Rest for the second time, in the hypnotic video for Pick Me Up.&nbsp;Inside a dimly-lit bedroom full of rich textures and luxury furnishings, Young peels away her outer layers, settling into a series of conceptual performance setups.&nbsp;The visual is a shift in tone from the affecting narrative of the previous video <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2019/12/06/lola-young-blind-love-rest/62255">Blind Love</a>, and it highlights another side of the exciting young artist. But another kind of fierce emotion is on show, this time with a physical manifestation.Clothes fly from the air, falling into the shadows as Young's eyes are fixed on the camera. The hypnotic performance is punctuated by whip pans and unusual textures, which DoP Sam&nbsp;Meyer&nbsp;utilises to great effect."There's&nbsp;a&nbsp;running theme&nbsp;and a&nbsp;series of poltergeist-like moments that happen throughout the video which are inspired by the last third of the song which has&nbsp;elements that feel a little 'spooky'," says The Rest's Alex Motlhabane. "We wanted to match that trajectory and have things go a bit off-kilter and hallucinatory towards the end."
