Geej Ower has delivered a series of beautifully-realised mini-tales from the city, in this ambitious short film for&nbsp;Thea Gustafsson, aka Becky and the Birds.For five songs on the upcoming &#39;Album EP&#39;, Ower sketches different female experiences - the young traveller lost in her headphones/music; the girl in a relationship;&nbsp;the independent-minded skater;&nbsp;the mother, forced to remember a traumatic loss;&nbsp;and finally Thea/Becky herself, in a break from a moment of intimacy.Shot on film - beautiful job by Nick Morris - this portmanteau-style film has the fantastic quality of sketching life as it is now, through a range of storytelling techniques.&nbsp;Ower really shows what she&#39;s capable of here, and it&#39;s a marvellous&nbsp;showcase for Gustafsson&#39;s music.

Geej Ower has created a perception-challenging video for Naughty Boy &amp; Laura Mvula&#39;s Dancing Machine. A statuesque figure is seen alone in the Thames underpass, but they are not initially what they seem to be.What first appears to be a woman in a glittering shift is revealed to be a male. But the outfit does not define him. It becomes a secondary element to his performance, guiding the viewer through a sensual and emotional journey, the camera stalking his every move.It is so hypnotic it merges with this cover version of a Jacksons&#39; hit from the 1970s, so throughly reworked by Naughty Boy and Mvula it&#39;s virtually unrecognisable from the original.

Geej Ower&#39;s second video for Punctual is a splendidly evocative portrait of a British seaside town and two girls who live there.Like her previous video for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/07/07/punctual-what-i-love-geej-ower" target="_blank">What I Love</a>, Ower makes something fresh and very uplifting from some familiar elements. Here she captures a sense of nostalgia and youth through the people, textures, details and colour, making the overlooked and somewhat tired seem beautiful and artistic.

Geej Ower has created a properly&nbsp;heartwarming video for Punctual&#39;s infectiously feelgood What I Love &ndash; and that&#39;s all down to a very talented kid in a yellow sweatshirt and big cap called&nbsp;Okiki.With bundles of personality, energy and dance skills, Okiki may not have reached double figures yet, but he commands the screen on his own, as he saunters and dances through the Peckham estate where he lives, before heading for a rooftop of his block, to hook up with his equally delightful sister Elizabeth.The final drone shot places&nbsp;the kids as specks of joy in the bigger landscape of the imposing Dawson Heights estate in South East London, with the whole of London beyond. It&#39;s not only a breathtaking shot, but a poignant moment.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Geej Ower has directed a&nbsp;compelling promo&nbsp;for&nbsp;Jono McCleery&#39;s&nbsp;This Idea Of Us, capturing the intensity of a relationship through movement,&nbsp;that was&nbsp;produced as part of a short film project in Margate, organised by&nbsp;Stephen Bass of Moshi Moshi Records.Greatcoat Films were invited to take up residency for a week by Bass&nbsp;as part of his PRAH Foundation artists residency programme.&nbsp;Greatcoat produced three short films with three of their favourite directors, responding to the project&rsquo;s theme &ldquo;Stories From The Sea&rdquo;.&nbsp;The films include a narrative and a documentary short film, together with this film, directed by Ower and shot on 35mm by Charlie Goodger, which provides a haunting&nbsp;accompaniment to&nbsp;Jono McCleery&rsquo;s beautiful track.&quot;The narrative follows one man&#39;s psychological torment battling with the memory of a past relationship,&quot; explains Geej Ower. &quot;It&#39;s an emotional and physical story as our character attempts to rid himself of his past.&quot; &nbsp;
