Ed Sheeran is at one with the elements,&nbsp;in Mia Barne's touching&nbsp;promo for Boat.&nbsp;We see Sheeran performing in the middle of the sea, battling a tirade of incoming waves as he works to keep his footing.Before long, various objects get caught up in the water, including broken records, teddy bears and stationery.&nbsp;The cinematography is surprisingly intimate and conversational throughout - with Sheeran's eyeline always down the lens and the camera up close and personal, it feels as if he is pouring his heart out to a friend, and it makes for a beautiful visual.&nbsp;It's the perfect track for a stripped back yet perfectly executed promo, and Barnes brings it to life with an emotional yet still playful concept.&nbsp;

Mia Barnes directs a heartfelt promo for Ed Sheeran's Eyes Closed - the first release from forthcoming album Subtract.&nbsp;Hanging out at a bar with only a few strangers for company, the video opens with Ed drinking away his sorrows, attempting to bury an unhappiness lurking within him.&nbsp;Before long, he begins to see a giant, fuzzy blue monster - a representation of the sadness that he carries around with him. And it starts to shadow&nbsp;him everywhere he goes.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]The portrayal of such emotions as a rather loveable furry creature perhaps suggests&nbsp;that when you hold&nbsp;onto negative emotions for so long, they almost become comfortable and familiar, adding a layer of meaning to the poignant visual. But of course it's also a very astute way of portraying a negative emotion within the recognisable Sheeran universe.It's a true feat of visual effects,&nbsp;not only with the main monster design but for&nbsp;several other characters with their own emotional creatures, and Ed's stirring performance is the glue that binds the dreamlike, tender promo together.&nbsp;

Dave Meyers directs a high-concept fairytale fantasy for&nbsp;Megan Thee Stallion's team-up&nbsp;Dua Lipa.Based on a concept by Megan Thee Stallion, the video follows two men as they wander into an otherworldly forest, before encountering the artists as you've never seen them before.&nbsp;Dark, sultry and enigmatic, the pair are introduced in the throws of a chaotic abode, which has gyrating legs for doors and a neverending spiral of spiky teeth lining the walls inside.&nbsp;The video only gets more absurd and visually complex from there, and the sheer scale of the concept - and the staggering amount of VFX&nbsp;work - pays off in an explosion of glossy set pieces and first class performances.&nbsp;It's jawdropping work - but that is what we have come to expect from the&nbsp;remarkable Dave Meyers and the brilliant team around him.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]

Never one to do things by halves, M.I.A is electrifying in her presence, effortlessly pulling off the Midsommar-inspired outfit whilst handling an unruly wave of farm animals.&nbsp;Stunningly bonkers and high concept, the visual is a testament to its many collaborators and creative minds - totally sporadic and spontaneous, but everyone contributing to the&nbsp;ultimate vision.&nbsp;

Dave Meyers directs an emotional and pertinent&nbsp;visual for Anderson Paak's Lockdown.Reflecting on racial injustice, police brutality and the global pandemic, the video is an introspective exploration of how society has reached its tipping point, and a call for systematic change.&nbsp;Featuring cameos from&nbsp;Dominic Fike,&nbsp;Andra Day, Jay Rock, Syd of the Internet and .Paak's son Soul Rasheed, amongst others,&nbsp;Lockdown is made up of several performance vignettes, stylised in a subtle way with offbeat angles and composition, but pared down from some of Meyers' more fantastical work. The intimate performances are the focus here, and the video ensures&nbsp;the issues at hand remain centre-stage.&nbsp;The animation at the end of the video, detailing the names of those killed through police brutality, is a striking wake up call: "The People Are Rising". All cast and crew salaries were donated to Beam, Dream Defenders and Color Of Change.&nbsp;&nbsp;
