24kGldn goes on a wild ride in Austin Peters' promo for 3,2,1.&nbsp;Reflecting on a relationship falling apart, the video presents a pastiche&nbsp;of hallucinatory performance vignettes, focusing on the artist's relationship with a mystery love interest, played by&nbsp;Charlotte Free.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Chris Probst matches the high-energy affair with plenty of fluid camerawork, and a spattering of intense visual effects adds a layer of absurdity to the concept.&nbsp;

Nick Roney's first video since the UKMVA-winning video for Cayucas' Girl&nbsp;tells the story of Chipper, a mechanical squirrel pop star, years after his novelty has worn off,&nbsp;who has one remaining adoring fan.In his video for Real Estate's Paper Cup, the innocent, bright-eyed lad turns up into the sleazy games emporium, to see his beloved Chipper perform - who turns out to be a grinning Disney-esque robot, with the essence of something human deep within.&nbsp;But he has become&nbsp;like&nbsp;a monster in a carnival sideshow, badly in disrepair, on the point of collapse&nbsp;- and the lad is about to be stripped of his innocence.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;In this director's cut, Roney's black comedy on the&nbsp;life after pop stardom is particularly&nbsp;unsettling, with elements of classic&nbsp;grand guignol&nbsp;horror. It's a departure from the videos for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/02/14/lemon-twigs-i-wanna-prove-you-nick-roney/46130" target="_blank">The Lemon Twigs</a> and Cayucas where Roney and members of his family have played important roles - sometimes for laughs, and sometimes not. But like in all good horror, there is also a sense of something rooted in the personal going on here. And once seen, it stays with you.

Zhu heads on down to Area 51 for Came For The Low, directed by&nbsp;Jack Murgatroyd &amp; Zhu himself.&nbsp;Cast your mind back to September 20th 2019. It was a scorcher in the UK, but aside from the better than usual weather, everything was pretty much same old. The same can't be said on the other side of the Atlantic.&nbsp;On that date, an event was set up to "Storm Area 51" to see what was lurking in the secret (but not so secret) military base in Nevada. With hundreds of thousands promising to attend, the actual turnout on the day was pretty minimal. For this music video,&nbsp;Jack Murgatroyd &amp; Zhu headed out&nbsp;with the idea to put their&nbsp;own creative interpretation on what they&nbsp;knew would be the absurdity of internet culture at its finest.Intercutting live action performance and narrative setups&nbsp;with vintage&nbsp;stock footage, the montage forms an exciting and frenetic concept. Action-packed and cinematic, it's an exceptional&nbsp;project, and we wouldn't be surprised to see the directors join forces for&nbsp;another video in the near future. Perhaps somewhere a little safer than a military testing site next time though...&nbsp;

Billie Eilish is a choking fallen angel in this oily creature feature, directed by Rich Lee. This part-sequel to <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HUHC9tYz8ik">Bury a Friend</a> feels like the spiritual culmination of the various themes and motifs that circulate in Eilish’s artistry: the use of the abject, the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DyDfgMOUjCI">gallows humour</a>, the <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2018/10/30/billie-eilish-when-partys-over-carlos-lopez-estrada/55713">black viscera</a>, and the burdensome injustices handed to the youth.It is testament to Eilish - the salience of her mythology and her unshakeable fanbase - that this single and video are even allowed to exist. <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79fzeNUqQbQ">Gyrating in front of a crucifix</a> may have done Madonna more good than bad in 1988. But conventional wisdom tends to decree that, if you have the profile, and you’re itching to piss off American Christians, do it gently. And with enough cynicism to give yourself some plausible deniability. But thanks to this eagerly macabre video, and a couple of choice lyrics (“even God herself … will want the Devil on her team”), the young star has developed a <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/music/shortcuts/2019/sep/09/is-billie-eilish-a-devil-worshipper-hell-no">reputation as a Satan worshipper</a>.But Eilish’s stunt mangling of Christian symbolism belies a more urgent message. Timed to coincide with the 2019 Climate Action Summit, the video is an environmental call to arms. This hellish vision of the future alludes to both oil spills and the 2018 California Wildfires.This is Rich Lee’s second monster movie released this month. Eilish’s shuffling angel is a cousin of Lana Del Rey’s vengeful giantess in <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2019/09/11/lana-del-rey-doin-time-rich-lee/60720">Doin’ Time</a>. The two videos share a similar crew, including Christopher Probst, ASC and Production Designer Brandon Mendez. The pyro, wings and oil were all achieved using partially practical effects.

David M. Helman strips it all the way back for this gritty, instinctive performance video, starring French-British rapper Octavian and Smoke Purpp in a throng of phone-waving supporters.Last seen directing an ambitious four-part video project for shey baba, Helman has gone back to basics for this visual, designed around the simple social dynamic of a filmed performance. The video is shot on 35mm, but it takes cues from the rough-and-ready style of old school SBTV freestyle videos -&nbsp;lit entirely by phone torches.In spite of this lo-fi process, the video looks luminescent, thanks to inky photography by Hayden Mason and a nuclear grade by Houmam Abdallah.

There&#39;s&nbsp;a girl, a payout at an Indian reservation casino, an assignation&nbsp;at a gas station.But mainly Helman keeps the narrative tantalisingly out of reach, so we focus on Max&nbsp;and his existential loneliness.
