Luke Casey &amp; Alex Leese's third video for&nbsp;Beabadoobee&nbsp;is a breezy, hazy performance video for Sunny Day.&nbsp;Exuding late summer&nbsp;vibes and a retro aesthetic, the video sees Bea jump from her floral-inspired bedroom into a fantasy garden just outside, full of stop-motion mushrooms, eccentric flora and a guitar-playing frog.&nbsp;It's a suitably nostalgic visual for a track that sounds like it's been pulled out of 2006 (or even 1996), and Bea radiates a relaxed, understated energy throughout.

Hot off the heels of the release of his acclaimed feature film Boiling Point, Philip Barantini directs a heartfelt promo for Sam Tompkins.&nbsp;Thematically exploring the artist's relationship with his Dad, Tompkins transforms into a middle-aged version of himself in the video for Hero - complete with thinning hair and a wife and son of his own - and gets to grips with the challenges of ageing whilst battling his own demons.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Tompkins' character leaves home early one morning, and drives to a cliff, where he contemplates ending it all - before reminiscing over a photo he has in his pocket, remembering a day with his family.&nbsp;The final shots see the artist remove his makeup and interact with the crew, breaking character before going to call his Dad for real.It's a poignant and relatable concept, brought to life by Barantini's sensitive&nbsp;direction and ability to extrapolate pure emotion from the cast.&nbsp;"When Sam and his team sent the brief for Hero I was immediately drawn to the honesty, and how powerful the message was," says Barantini. "I really hope anyone who is struggling might find the strength to reach out when they watch it. It was a joy to work with such a passionate bunch of people on this too."

Blake Claridge directs a poignant and&nbsp;meditative promo for modern classical artist Alexis Ffrench.&nbsp;The video for Guiding Light builds upon themes of love and loss, and depicts a woman standing on the shoreline, allowing the waves to wash over her bare feet, while&nbsp;an upright piano stands&nbsp;just metres away. Then Ffrench himself appears, playing the refrain of Guiding Light on the piano.&nbsp;The idea of connection to nature and to a higher power is elevated by the stormy, unsettled weather, and the subtlety of the performance allows viewers to impress their own experiences onto the concept and form their own attachments to the music."On the recce, the sun was out and I had planned things for the perfect sunset," explains Blake Claridge.&nbsp;"But this is England,&nbsp;so on the shoot day we were coming off the back of a storm and shooting in torrential rain. But it was perfect, and just created more drama to what was always going to be a pure and simple piece."

Barnstorming indie band Wet Leg are reimagined as bath-loving aliens beamed down from outer space, in Fred Rowson's loveably&nbsp;eccentric promo for Too Late Now.&nbsp;Wrapped in bath towels, the band venture out into Croydon to experience the Earthly delight of a good hot soak for the very first time, reflecting the lyrics, “I just need a bubble bath to set me on a higher path”.During their pursuit they encounter the addictions of bubble bath and the relaxing qualities of cucumbers - which involves a certain amount of suggestiveness, in the already characteristic Wet Leg style&nbsp;-&nbsp;eventually finding true nirvana in the form of a very pink hot tub, drawing a conclusion to the space-invaders’ pilgrimage.Filmed across two days in South-East London and on a rather muddy Kentish farm, DoP Rik Burnell worked closely with Rowson to achieve the ‘fly on the wall’ aesthetic, shot on a very very long lens with minimal lighting.[imgtoken data:1]<blockquote>I was slightly stunned to shoot the first Wet Leg video that they didn’t direct themselves.</blockquote>"Wet Leg may be the coolest band of the year, but, surprisingly, they are also 2021’s year’s most innocent gang of outsiders," comments Rowson. "Tasked with documenting their first experience of exploring an urban centre outside of Ryde [on the Isle of Wight] I was shocked by their naivety, and nearly lost them on numerous occasions, not least when Rhian nearly went under a bus. Twice."Thankfully, no indie kids were harmed in the making of this movie, and the quintet instinctively found their way to the safety of a rural setting. Thank God. "Seriously though. I was slightly stunned when Hester and Rhian asked me to shoot the first Wet Leg video that they didn’t direct themselves. Pressure, considering that their previous two were, for me, the best of the year. But, from conception to shoot to edit, this was a mad, magical collaboration that’s up there with my favourite music video experiences."Thank you to Domino and John Moule for trusting us to get on with it, and thank you as always to the team of Terminators at Blink - Rosie, Seb, Laura: you gave up your lives and made this happen in less than a week.
