A man has some painful memories reconfigured in Elliot Simpson's promo for Joel Corry and Becky Hills.&nbsp;In the same faux-utopic vein as previous&nbsp;collabs <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/11/11/joel-corry-ft-mabel-i-wish-elliot-simpson/73789">I Wish&nbsp;</a>and <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/03/11/joel-corry-x-raye-x-david-guetta-bed-elliot-simpson/69885">Bed</a>, the sci-fi concept in History proposes a world in which memories can be altered and 'put right', via a personal home visit from Joel,&nbsp;Becky and their futuristic arsenal of gadgets.&nbsp;The narrative perfectly blends the borders of surrealism and reality, and gives the artists a chance to flex their acting muscles in addition to some very filmic performance setups.&nbsp;Seamless and slick, the video is equal parts Black Mirror and pop promo, and is a real visual treat.&nbsp;

Elliot Simpson&nbsp;devises an entertaining&nbsp;split-screen narrative for Joel Corry's Head &amp; Heart, featuring MNEK, as he explores the importance of having a positive outlook on life.&nbsp;In both halves of the screen a young man goes about the same daily routine - but&nbsp;one side of the screen he is incredibly miserable, and unsuccessful. In the other, he's happy, popular and a big success.&nbsp;And while the 'head'&nbsp;side of frame is desaturated, awkward and hopeless, the 'heart' side is rosy, optimistic and fun.DoP&nbsp;Stefan Yap matches the two concepts in terms of framing and camera movement, with alternate lighting setups and styling used to contrast the mood and tone. Meanwhile, performers Joel Corry and MNEK also occupy the split screen too.&nbsp;Ultimately the two versions of the young man - actually played by twins Luke and Solomon Adlam&nbsp;- meet at the climax of the video. In the end, there is only one of them, with a more balanced worldview and attitude...

Elliot Simpson satirizes our obsessions - and probably predicts what is just around the corner - in his enjoyable video for DJ and producer&nbsp;Joel Corry, set in a rehab retreat for a select few&nbsp;who are addicted to their smartphones.The psychological impact of smartphones has become a common theme in music videos in the past year or so, but this has the benefit of being more comedic than doomladen, and Elliot Simpson creates&nbsp;a cast of likeable characters, struggling to readjust to the challenge of life without phones, and having to work very hard on their non-screen-based social skills.&nbsp;Joel Corry fits in well into this ensemble cast, playing a counsellor in the facility&nbsp;- a suitable role, as he is not only a DJ/producer but also a&nbsp;fitness instructor in real life.And let's face it, smartphone addiction rehab is surely coming in real life, very soon...&nbsp;
