Inside an industrial office setting, a group of workers tap away in a trance, as the surrounding technology slicks wet with some sort of slime, in&nbsp;Federico Barni's dark sci-fi spectacle for experimental electronic artist aircode.&nbsp;The abstract imagery and slow-moving camerawork reveals the mystery piece by piece, never giving away the whole truth, but enough of it to make it feel haunting and otherworldly.&nbsp;"This is a music video, but also a cinematic science fiction short of sorts, about a mysterious and potentially sentient liquid computer machine," says Barni about the concept, which blends the futuristic dystopia of The Matrix with something contemporary and unsettling.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Teenage love fails to run smoothly in Ethan &amp; Tom's excellent take on a high school musical for Tendai.A frosty moment between Tendai and his girlfriend - played by&nbsp;Sephora Parish - is played out in the halls of a London school, in a series of well-crafted sequences that involve a sizeable supporting cast.It's of a piece with the directing duo's facility with experimental camera techniques, with a constantly moving camera, which ends up rotating around the couple.But this is also arguably Ethan &amp; Tom's most sophisticated video so far in terms of execution, with an element of dramatic tension and a proper pop video feel in terms of scale and look. A real step-up for the talented directing duo.

A day from Hell just won't let up, in&nbsp;Hector Dockrill's tragic promo for Chase &amp; Status and BackRoad Gee.&nbsp;&nbsp;The video for When It Rains features actor Jack McMullen as a down-on-his-luck everyman, trying to go about his day to day life to disastrous effect.&nbsp;It all starts with an antagonistic phone call and a cigarette lit the wrong way, and builds to a high-octane climax full of suspense, blood, chase scenes&nbsp;and the opportunity for the character to finally get the nicotine hit he's gagging for.&nbsp;Brilliant work which anchors on McMullen's performance and a Dockrill's keen eye for narrative.&nbsp;

CC Wade captures Griff and Sigrid's backstage antics, in the light-hearted yet incendiary promo for Head On Fire.&nbsp;To mark this team-up of two inspiring&nbsp;pop performers, the Wade brothers let them loose in a deserted theatre to just have fun - which gets slightly out of hand. They have the run of the place, they mess around dressing up, climb rigging - and then set fire to the place. All without missing a beat of their performances.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]Celebrating their friendship and not taking themselves too seriously, it's great to see Griff and Sigrid kick back and let loose - and show a slightly dangerous, even pyromanic&nbsp;streak.&nbsp;The visual feels like the perfect&nbsp;partner to the upbeat track, skirting with edginess - and the talented CC Wade, best known for their work with the likes of King Krule and other hipster types.&nbsp;make good on this opportunity to make their mark in the pop world.

Noah Lee creates a palpably resonant dreamworld, full of quirky visual tricks streaming from the subconscious of&nbsp;his subject, the intriguing Celeste, in the video for Tonight Tonight.Once Lee sets the scene by putting Celeste through the mini-hell of not being able to light her recalcitrant cigarette, the video progresses&nbsp;into the psyche of the character our songstress embodies. The&nbsp;film meanders through dive bars and Alice-in-Wonderland-esque hallways filled with butterflies and complicated individuals.It’s definitely the film’s distortions on common realities that make its dreamworld feel somewhat familiar - an authentic imagining of a subconscious mind. It's also framed in a&nbsp;film aesthetic, and with use of lenses that creates an aura that manages to be glamourous and&nbsp;romantic as well as surreal.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;&nbsp;

An ominous presence tracks a number of individuals on the streets and fields of East London, in Brock Neal Roberts' gripping promo for Eli Brown &amp; Talk Show.&nbsp;Paying homage to gritty British cinema - in particular <a href="https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alan_Clarke" target="_blank">Alan Clarke</a>'s influential masterpiece Elephant -&nbsp;the video for Trouble is focussed on the individuals who walk briskly through an deserted urban landscape - when they are not congregating in legendary Bethnal Green caff Manzi's -&nbsp;aware that they are being followed by an unknown, unseen force, with tension and fear building throughout.&nbsp;The video is deceivingly&nbsp;simple, with a concept that packs a punch and gets under your skin, with great use of locations, excellent casting and Neal Roberts working with DoP&nbsp;David Foulkes and editor Beth Roberts to build the spooky feel&nbsp;of a nightmare. Louis Bhose pays homage to those classic teen films of the 80s made by the guy in the songtitle, then gives it a good old twist.&nbsp;In his darkly comic promo for Maisie Peters' John Hughes Movie, Bhose presents a world in which Maisie is an&nbsp;outsider, desperate to get the guy but always missing out.&nbsp;When she is at home, she is stalked by a raunchy couple who can't seem to get a room - their own one, anyway. And just when it seems all hope is lost, Bhose delivers an unexpected yet brilliant twist.&nbsp;Washed with neon lighting and gritty textures, the video is a welcome step outside of the mainstream, and boasts a perfect balance between vintage and contemporary aesthetics.&nbsp;
