This green screen shoot sees the band put in a cool graphically designed space of the song's lyrics and with great choreography from Natricia Bernard. Well worth a watch.

Emeli Sandé teams up with Dawn Shadforth for the promo to her new single My Kind Of Love. Shot over two days, the first in a training hospital the second on the Sussex coast, this emotional story of two sisters, the younger played by Laya Lewis from UK TV show Skins, draws on some of Emili's personal experiences. 
"During my time studying medicine, I found it hard to write, but one of the things that inspired me were the patients and the interaction that they had with their loved ones during their time of illness," says Emeli. 
"When people arrived at the hospital, money and status became irrelevant and only health mattered, which sparked an honesty between people which was amazing. This interaction, declaration of support and love, was the inspiration for 'My Kind of Love' and something I wanted to try and portray in this video."

It was shot in Eltham Palace, with Ed Rutherford behind the camera, styling by Aldene Johnson, and Dawn working with editor Thomas Grove Carter for the first time.

Douglas, whose also just directed new vids for Manic Street Preachers and Pet Shop Boys, is on a roll. And Faris quite possibly wears a white tux better than anyone since Bryan Ferry.

To herald the welcome return and new musical direction of The Horrors, an epic video by a resurgent Douglas Hart.Douglas uses old-school effects - involving magnets! - to give an edge to a classic Velvets-at-The Factory vibe, and turns a regular performance vid into a momentous eight-minute wig-out.In fact it nods at lots of great rock and roll happenings through the ages - including to good old Jesus And Mary Chain and early Primal Scream, in which Douglas was a prime mover back in the day.So what goes around, comes around (again) and the Horrors have discovered a kindred spirit. Douglas is doing their next one too.Douglas Hart on making the video for The Horrors' Sea Within A Sea"Having the luxury of meeting the band to talk over the idea, to look at photographs, to look at movies, did not happen on this job - when does it ever! I did have a phone conversation, and they said that they wanted something colourful and psychedelic - and that the song was eight minutes long!"It's not uncommon for the 'P' word to be used in briefs from bands and record companies. The challenge becomes how to create something psychedelic without resorting to the cliché of trapping the band in a giant lava lamp."So instead of soft undefined swirls of colour we started with sharp graphic architectural images and both brightly coloured polka dots. I then ran these hard images through a regular, non-flat screen TV with a cathode ray tube."While I reshot the images for projection I ran magnets around the edge of the TV. This bends the actual cathode rays away from the screen and along the magnetic fields of the magnets... it also monkeys around with the colours. This was a trick used by very early video artists - before anyone invented machines to colourise and terrorise TV and video images."We also talked about seeing our favourite bands performing on the kind of shows that they didn't fit in, and how the contrast of a presenter who obviously hated the band added to the excitement of the performance - we were both big fans of Public Image Ltd on American Bandstand."I tried to find someone who looked like he could work on Sky News. So many people have said "I know that guys face...he's on..." and they name some show or network. He is, in fact, a friend's father."I'm glad that they didn't do a video edit, as it gave me a chance to build some dynamics. We could build up the rhythm of the back projections and the rhythm of the cut over the eight-minute duration. This video was a great example of using old production methods (the magnets on the TV) to give an aged look. It's a look that many bands want, especially since the birth of Youtube, because they search out their favourite bands and fall in love with the look and feel of the medium of the clips."The actual images we projected were easily created using Final Cut Pro and After Effects. So we combined the best of both worlds to create a non-lava lamp video that is proud to be associated with the 'P' word."

So here is your first video of the season of good cheer, with a recreation of the spirit of Christmas past for The Wombats by their old chums Thirtytwo, featuring lots of eye-watering knitwear and an post-modern celebrity cameo by Les Dennis.
Actually it's a rather good start to all things festive.
A combination of the Wombats' proper indie pop songwriting and the old home-movie stylings of Is This Christmas get quite close to the reality of the whole business - a moment of excitement, followed by hours of tedium - until the boys decide to play with their presents.
Look, if we all work together, we can get through this...

Ben &amp; Jos, who have already done good things with Black Ghosts and Lethal Bizzle, have thrown pretty much everything into this and it works. And it looks like Come To Daddy man is still stuck in the telly.

Young Knives' Up All Night by thirtytwo

Directing team DARYL's latest and possibly most high-profile video so far is a gritty tale set in the murky world of London boxing, particularly distinguished by some excellent photography by DoP Ed Rutherford and wincingly real fight sequences.
DARYL say they were influenced by the documentary-cinematic approach of Shane Meadows and Lynn Ramsey for the video. "We wanted everything to look filmic but with a real and raw feel, trying to create a balance between some of the more classic boxing films such as Raging Bull and Cinderella Man, with real footage of real fights.
"Ed Rutherford was outstanding, creating exactly what we had asked and more. The guy is flawless. We were aware that the videos success would rely heavily on the casting in order to accomplish the type of atmosphere we were trying to execute. The lead guys, both real boxers, totally nailed their scenes. They had to fight each other for real for most of the day, so we owe them big."
