Two masked invaders threaten the serenity of Mitski's Victorian garden, in Maegan Houang's&nbsp;otherworldly promo for Stay Soft.&nbsp;The dreamy concept introduces viewers to a luxurious fantasy world of rare plants and topiary, with the focus on a sweet but spooky Venus flytrap, who Mitski routinely feeds with a small drip of her blood.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;When two invaders snatch the artist from the garden, a mysterious string of vignettes depict the struggle to overcome them, transcending into a hazy dance scene and some brilliant silhouetted action scenes - resulting in two sacrifices to feed the&nbsp;flytrap.&nbsp;Wonderfully bizarre and beautiful, it's another fantastic collaboration between&nbsp;Houang and this intriguing artist&nbsp;(they also recently worked together on the video for&nbsp;<a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2021/11/26/mitski-only-heartbreaker-maegan-houang-jeff-desom/73983" target="_blank">The Only Heartbreaker</a>)&nbsp;that feels as editorial-esque as it does abstract.&nbsp;

Andrew Donoho brilliantly blends CG and live action in his promo&nbsp;for George Ezra's Anyone For You, using Extended Reality (or XR)&nbsp;technology to drive the concept, and frame another winning Ezra performance."To parallel the idea of George being 'anyone for you', I captured him in five natural environments with a distinct atmosphere to match his ever-changing appearance," explains Donoho, who also acted as VFX artist for the video.&nbsp;"We filmed the video in an XR stage [in Los Angeles] using entirely CG backgrounds, rendered live on a 80 foot screen, to playfully give his backgrounds their own digital identity crisis.[imgtoken data:1]"As his artificial worlds break down like a person changing themselves for love, we introduce one of my favourite techniques of all time: a live, digital feedback loop of George projected behind George ad infinitum over the walls and floor."Ezra brings his customary playful energy to the project, and is mesmerising to watch throughout - especially when that feedback loop of his performance takes over the screen, perpetually repeating over and over like an infinity mirror.&nbsp;The combination of artificial and real elements feels fresh and seamless, and Ezra's bubbly presence heightens the carefree mood.&nbsp;

Young Replicant rounds off his visual trilogy for Sam Dew, with the intriguing promo for DJ.This is the third video for Dew by Alex Takacs aka Young Replicant, in a series for the singer's debut album Moonlit Fools, which&nbsp;follows a network of mysterious workers, unseen by anyone, who deliver bubblegum card-like messages in the middle of the night. These then act as catalysts for emotion, stirring up heartache or desire in the recipients.The delightful first video for NTWFL sets the scene for this enigmatic scenario.[vidtoken data:0]&nbsp;Then in Gone, we begin to see the same action from a different perspective, adding characters and deepening the mystery in a classic noir style.[vidtoken data:1]The video for DJ brings Sam Dew more to the forefront in a performance setting without compromising the overall dreamlike quality. A woman is drawn by the card of Dew to a screen in a carpark where she finds him and is then transported to a deserted beach, where another&nbsp;screen blots out the night sky.Posing abstract questions about our purpose on Earth in the age of technology, and what might be stopping us from becoming our best selves, the video is painted with a melancholic aesthetic, mixing intimate, slice-of-life vignettes with jarring reminders of technological influence, in the form of these omnipresent screens and displays.&nbsp;Young Replicant has long been able to establishing a visual universe and internal logic to his work that is entirely unique, and he has refined that further in this trilogy. It's a lovely thing - while also being a terrific&nbsp;showcase for Sam Dew's talent as a vocalist.

Frozen moments capture an instance of unknown trauma in Isaac Ravishankara's super video for Active Child.“At its core All Eyes On You, is a devotional piece for companionship," says Active Child about the song. "A testament to one's sacrifice in the pursuit of love, even if becomes unhealthy. There’s a beauty in the submission of self to someone else in hopes of creating a pure partnership in life.”The camerawork is the star of the show in Ravishankara's take on the song, with&nbsp;long, fluid takes that feel&nbsp;like an out of body experience. The camera explores&nbsp;the space around our characters, as they are stuck in freeze-frame in different situations. The visual effects work here is seamless, and the slow unravelling of the narrative fits perfectly with the stylistic cinematography choices.Performers&nbsp;Reshma Gajjar and Larkin Poynton are both very strong, and you will struggle to take your eyes off of them as you start to hypothesise about what could be going on. It's a question that you might still be left with at the end, but this project is ripe for repeat viewings, so you have more than enough opportunity to think of your own theories.&nbsp;

Even he doesn&#39;t know where it&#39;s going to end up, but it&#39;s probably going to be messy.
