What surely began&nbsp;as a &#39;Kurt and Courtney&#39; joke is actually now a proper thing, with an album called Gotta Sea Lice&nbsp;on the way. And here&#39;s the second video flowing from the Barnett/Vile collaboration by Danny Cohen.Like the first, for <a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2017/09/06/courtney-barnett-kurt-vile-over-everything-danny-cohen" target="_blank">Over Everything</a>, this is a dual location shoot, of Courtney Barnett in Melbourne and Kurt Vile in Philly, with&nbsp;Sherwin Akbarzadeh the DoP in Oz, and Doug Durant DoPing in the States.The parallel theme is there too, but this time it&#39;s a pair of concurrent&nbsp;home documentaries (shot on Kodak 16mm film) of Kurt and Courtney in their home patches, doing nice stuff with their respective families,&nbsp;proving that they are probably the best uncle and auntie&nbsp;in the USA/Australia.&nbsp;So not very much like the original Kurt and Courtney at all.

Kurt and Courtney (no, not that Kurt &amp; Courtney) clash over six-plus minutes of glorious guitar jangle with Over Everything. And this is a fine video by Danny Cohen, who starts proceedings with a simple but ingenious premise.As things progress, Cohen lets some glorious locations do all the talking. This was shot in the musicians&#39; respective home grounds around Melbourne (Barnett) and Philly (Vile).

Maggie Rogers shot to internet fame after a video of a stunned Pharrell reacting to her song Alaska&nbsp;from an NYU masterclass surfaced last year. Part of Pharell&#39;s praise came from Rogers&#39; embracing the traditional folk imagery and sound and combining that with dance music. It&#39;s an aesthetic that&#39;s translated here in Zia Anger&#39;s video for Dog Years.Imagery of nature in the setting of a camp combined with a choreographed dance and procession, with Rogers performing into a mic that trails off into an unseen input. The muted colours&nbsp;of nature in the autumn enhance the ethereal sounds that turn the song and video into a living, breathing performance postcard.

Devonte Hynes&#39; musical vision as Blood Orange&nbsp;is accompanied by a self-directed, free-flowing video for Augustine, shot in New York City.&nbsp;We see Hynes and his friends dance on rooftops, congregate on stairs, and go for jerk chicken (one of his friends being Julian Casablancas of The Strokes).&nbsp;All of this is&nbsp;intercut with footage of Hynes alone in an apartment, composing and performing with various instruments as well as singing in front of a hand-painted flag of Sierra Leone -&nbsp;a reference to both his father&#39;s birthplace and the name of his latest album Freetown Sound&nbsp;(Freetown being Sierra Leone&#39;s capital city).The low-contrast, analogue film&nbsp;look and muted colour palettes in this video work incredibly well with the locations, making the whole thing feel like a very stream-of-conscious visual. Not so much a story here, but a series of visual fragments that help tell the wider story of Devonte Hynes and his music.
