(One look at your Facebook&nbsp;posts from four years ago should be an unwelcome reminder of this).Ill Studio knows this, and they make it their duty to make that teenage rebellious streak look as epic in reality as it does in your head. Quick cuts, fantastically composed visual snippets and a heap of classical art all coalesce into something that&#39;s just the right side of pretentious to really inflate a young man&#39;s ego.

Fleur Fortune&#39;s compelling&nbsp;short film for Travis Scott is a neo-futurist, dystopian look at near-death experiences.Shot in Detroit, the clip starts off by essentially establishing Scott as an unlikeable figure, and one in need of redemption. A brilliantly executed long takem shot in a car interior as it moves through the Detroit streets is the build up to a narrative-altering event, and one which takes this video from gritty, realistic short film territory straight into the realm of transformative experience.A masked figure walks forwards as the world moves backward around him - buildings crumble. We assume that it&#39;s Travis himself, as he&#39;s visited from people in the earlier part of the narrative. An out-of-body experience? Purgatory? Something else entirely?The video has a strange symmetry to it, with scenes from the first half of the 15 minute short being mirrored and echoed cleverly in this much more fantastical second act. It&#39;s an ambitious and enigmatic work - being shown exclusively on&nbsp;Apple Music for 90 days - that invites repeated viewing.[imgtoken data:1]

French animation team Mrzyk &amp; Moriceau present this throwback animation for The Avalanches.Presented in a style that may or may not have been inspired by the likes of Fritz The Cat (with a little bit of additional French sophistication), we&#39;re taken on an incredible psychedelic subway ride in which we see a revolving cast of incredible characters and as much visual innuendo as you can cram into three and a half minutes.&nbsp;I mean, there&#39;s not much subtlety in a möbious hotdog, but it looks cool.The whole clip feels like an incredible stream-of-conscious fantasy ride as each scene melts effortlessly into the next. Mind the gap.

Let&#39;s not mince words here: Helmi has made an incredibly brutal video and mission statement for French rapper Ichon.Fils de Pute &ndash;&nbsp;which translates as &quot;Son of a bitch&quot; &ndash; has a physical narrative that you certainly don&#39;t need to be fluent in French to follow. Based on the turbulent relations between police forces and people of colour worldwide, the video sees Ichon sat in a chair in a police station - chained to the floor. He&#39;s on the receiving end of a line of questioning that quickly escalates into something physical and violent. We watch on in horror as one cop brutalises Ichon whilst the other passively watches.&nbsp;We&#39;re reminded that this isn&#39;t fiction as we see names and pictures of young men such as&nbsp;Eric Garner and Abou Bakari Tandia, who all&nbsp;died while in police custody. And then, very suddenly and graphically, there&#39;s a twist in the tale.Masterful special effects, camerawork and fight choreography really help to sell the impact of this video. A fearsome, brilliant piece of work.

Thomas Rhazi&#39;s video for Alt-J&#39;s Pusher takes its inspiration from a great British democratic tradition of soapbox politics, and sends it into a dark,&nbsp;bleak place.As the camera circles an expanse of open ground a man climbs onto a box to begin to speak to the assembled smattering of homogeneous raincoat-wearing men. And as the circle tightens, the man becomes more passionate, and then desperate...As with previous videos from Alt-J&#39;s second album This Is All Yours, band frontman Joe Newman was involved at the conceptual stage of the Pusher video. And his&nbsp;involvement which has allowed Thomas Rhazi to reach for his powerful, thought-provoking,&nbsp;unquestionably bleak climax.&ldquo;The original idea was Joe&#39;s one,&quot; says Thomas. &quot;It was about a guy breaking his neck in a very poetic way. And also tender, and thought-provoking.&nbsp;Fleur &amp; Manu&#39;s latest video, for the Sydney trio Movement&#39;s track Ivory, is a frank exploration of sexual intimacy between a young couple. It&#39;s all about&nbsp;sex - but it&#39;s also about love.&nbsp;A young couple, nude, recline on a bed, and then they begin to perform sex. It is real and natural,&nbsp;but then it becomes frozen, abstracted &ndash; literally framed - where both parties view themselves from without,and then becomes lost in surrealism. &nbsp;This is brave work - and frankly, very French - with courageous performances from the boy and girl. Maybe it will be the&nbsp;most controversial of the year so far - for all the right reasons.&nbsp;

It&#39;s a brave thing to give the brands and the bling&nbsp;a bit of a&nbsp;slapping in this day and age, but Helmi gives it a go in his video for&nbsp;Bonnie Banana feat. Waltaa&#39;s Champs Elysees. It&#39;s a satire on the materialism that pervades modern youth culture - and a brilliant visual bombardment to boot.&nbsp;The aesthetic is street culture, with a heavy nod to the 90s. But most importantly Champs Elysees - both song and video - is all about the importance of appearances,&nbsp;and how it quickly turns into materialism and vanity. And drugs.&nbsp;Interestingly, Helmi and&nbsp;Bonnie and Waltaa developed the song and the visuals at the same time - a very unusual process, but highly effective. Chronicling runaway consumption with hard video FX works a treat. And appropriately the song that says &#39;everything&#39;s for sale&#39; is available to download for free, on weirdata.net.&nbsp;
