Ben Lankester returns to music videos with an intense and riveting study of a fiercely committed boxer for Big Ideas.The band is the new project by&nbsp;Nathan Nicholson and Adam Harrison - of The Boxer Rebellion -&nbsp;and Lankester himself, on board as creative director and responsible for the visual identity of the project. And the video for the debut release The American Dream is a powerful statement of intent, featuring a charismatic performance by the boxer and actor Tom Benett.With superb cinematography by Carl Burke, Lankester focusses upon&nbsp;the boxer's punishing training regime, his manic drive to be the champion, and the devastating&nbsp;impact it has upon his mental wellbeing.&nbsp;The story is told more as a psychodrama, which puts character and metaphor ahead of typical narrative; and Lankester and Burke draw upon the rich heritage of boxing in film to show a man brought low by his commitment to the American Dream.&nbsp;The end result is a video that punches well above it's weight.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;

Suede marked their comeback earlier this year with a triumphant show at London's&nbsp;Alexandra Palace in March - and the video for For The Strangers (the single from the band's new album Bloodsports)&nbsp;is comprised of footage from that show, directed by Ben Lankester.At the core is the band's frontman&nbsp;Brett Anderson, of course –&nbsp;&nbsp;as charismatic a performer as ever, and arguably looking better than ever. But as director and editor, Ben Lankester captures the atmosphere and emotion of this momentous gig – a decade on from the band's acrimonious split – and then makes it work as a fully-fledged promo for the recorded version of the song.That's hard to do well, and he's made a very great job of it.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Irish brothers Hudson Taylor join Ben Lankester in Paris for their first ever video, busking in various spots throughout the city.Lensed by DP Matt Shaw with Ben on an additional Bolex camera, Mr Lankester had this to say about the production:&quot;The video was shot on 16mm in Paris over 24 hours. &quot;Our poor French driver darted all over the city in rush hour traffic as we chased the light and our loader changed rolls in the back.&quot;The boys were terrific, delivering consistently great performances all day long&quot;.

Ben Lankester takes the emotional Sea Of Regrets by Leeds band I Like Trains and turns in a beautifully brooding promo with a compelling performance from actor Segun Akingbola."The video was shot over a week in Brighton, suburban and inner-city Paris, Calais and finally London," Ben explains. "It wasn't easy: our car was broken into on our first night in Paris and we had a brief run-in with the French police on a beach in Calais."Most of the budget went into travel and accommodation costs. This meant we shot in France with a crew of just two, with myself, Matt and Segun sharing scummy hotel rooms, while we backed up footage and tried to keep up morale." But the result is a very affecting story, which suits the track extremely well.

Ben Lankester shot this video for Sweet Sweet Lies' No One Will Love You in Marine Square on Brighton seafront - and invited lots of people to take part in a big dance lesson."We sent out a call to friends, family and fans of the band and encouraged everyone to spend their Saturday afternoon learning to waltz," Ben explains. "We managed to make this for £1k, so a huge thanks to everyone involved for pulling in and making it happen."

A simple, very watchable tale of furniture-wrangling for the almost certainly East London-based Clapton Fox, by Ben Lankester. 
Ben, who shot this himself on a 7D and a couple of Canon lenses, wisely focusses on limpid beauty Georgia Frost (insert Clapton Fox joke here - ed) and her stroll through peaceful, idyllic Hackney. 
But there's also some fine stills portraits in this of stall holders in Dalston Market by Edward Lovelace - shot on an old Olympus OM-1 using (wait for it) 35mm film. Wonders.

It was mostly shot in Sussex countryside - the girls come from a local school - and Ben and company have captured the lovely sense of a timeless English summer's day (courtesy of a 5D), while the performance element was shot in Edinburgh. 
Ben has previously directed atmospheric videos infused with nature for Dorias Baracca and Air Formation (both also on the Club AC30 label) but this is his best yet.

It was certainly the right time of year for the track Low December Sun. This was shot by Andrew Litt and D.A.R.Y.L. on RED. in winter-bleak conditions for the track in Butchers Wood in South Down's countryside near London-on-sea.
