Lewis Cater follows the enigmatic promo for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2023/01/26/shinedown-dead-dont-die-lewis-cater/80130">Dead Don't Die</a> with another Shinedown collaboration - this time for A Symptom Of Being Human.&nbsp;The video deals with the unique yet universal challenges that are part and parcel of being human, touching upon anxiety, the cost of living&nbsp;and the overarching search for meaning in the everyday.&nbsp;Visually representing the highs and lows of life, the video focuses on a young girl, who discovers a book in a grand library with completely blank pages. She soon projects her fear and anxieties onto the page, until a breakthrough moment shines a light on the brighter side of life, and the friends who help her navigate the storm.[imgtoken data:1]The slick, filmic aesthetic perfectly contrasts the golden light of the library with the cold, clouded gloom of her fear vignettes, and the central performance helps marry the different setups to great effect.&nbsp;&nbsp;"There’s something quite magical about filming in London in December and we quite literally captured this underneath the festive glow of Westminster," Cater explains. "We were blessed with such an amazing team who stepped straight onto this after we wrapped on the Dead Don’t Die video."

Director duos The Rest and UNCANNY team up for an 'exercise in patience and self reflection' in the video for slowthai's Selfish.&nbsp;The video sees the artist trapped in a glass box, with nothing but paint, paper and his own reflection as company.&nbsp;Swapping out his often-cheeky persona for a much darker, introspective side of his character, the video is full of angst, fear and confusion, which is mirrored by the bubbling tension and explosive release in the cinematography.&nbsp;Opening with a slow, contained tracking shot to establish the environment, the camera soon launches into a frantic sprint from side to side, enveloping the mayhem that is unleashed on the inside of the box.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

A robot boyband take the world by storm in Maxim Kelly's alternative history of computing and artificial intelligence for Hot Chip - in which music video takes an even more important role...&nbsp;&nbsp;For Broken, taken from the band's recently released eighth album Freakout/Release, we follow the engaging story of Jerry Fairchild, creator of the Fairchild 7000, and its role in turning computer nerds into music video directors (including one named Jon Glazer). That is the introduction&nbsp;to the 'proper' video that features anonymous, frequently multiplying android pop stars, busting moves in a familiar white-syc studio.&nbsp;[imgtoken data:1]As in some of his previous work - perhaps most notably the video for shame's Nigel Hitter - Kelly reworks obscure vintage corporate film footage to create the foundations for his concept.Then he has created his robot boyband by adding cool robot mask prosthetics&nbsp;to a trio of denim-clad dancers presenting them in a pop video, rooted in the classic form. Charlie Sarsfield directs a compelling promo for George Ezra's Dance All Over Me, which sees George in a large studio space, performing as a group of dancers begin to multiply behind him.&nbsp;Transitioning from wide shots to extreme close-ups, the camera glides around the space smoothly, capturing a hypnotic amalgam of movement and performance.[imgtoken data:1]"Since watching his early videos, I’ve always wanted to work with George and actually doing so has been quite surreal," says Sarsfield.&nbsp;"The idea stemmed from taking inspiration and techniques traditionally used in hip hop videos from the likes of Kendrick Lemar and Pa Salieu, where people in the background begin to multiply."We wanted it to feel like George had walked onto the wrong set, surrounded by dancers. As the track progresses, the choreo really comes to life, almost as if the music inspired them to move."George liked the idea of having line dancing, featuring LOTs of dancers and the routine was masterfully put together by Suzzette Brissett. She puts her fate in the hands of the deity Aquarius when betting it all, securing her inevitable victory."It was an amazing experience getting to direct this music video," says&nbsp;Douek. "The song is about being a bad-ass bitch - inspired by the eponymous TV personality - and that natural stardom is something the artist emanates. The aesthetic for the film was inspired by Tashan’s Swiss and Indian heritage and transports us to a surreal future where amber skies tower over cyber cities."The rich colour palettes and inspired art direction help bring the concept to life, and the setups are&nbsp; seamlessly&nbsp;integrated through clever visual effects work.&nbsp;"The VFX were created by the amazing Felix Geen to move between the reality of the poker game and the metaphorical fantasy of intergalactic travel," continues Douek.&nbsp;"We managed to pull off a really ambitious shoot with an incredibly talented crew. Raja Virdi directs and shoots the first music video in a new campaign, for regular collaborator Holly Humberstone.The suitably haunting visual for Haunted House is centred on&nbsp;Holly's family home, with both of her parents making guest appearances.The video is built from surrealistic elements, with a dark and dangerous aesthetic shining through in the cinematography, whilst a&nbsp;custom rig which spins Holly upside down adds an otherworldly vibe to the concept.&nbsp;A perfect amalgamation of art direction, lighting, camera movement and Virdi's top-notch directing skills, this is a brilliant interpretation of the stirring track.

Holly Humberstone runs through the grounds of a deserted factory before picking up her guitar to perform three songs in the latest collaboration between the young singer-songwriter and Raja Virdi - here co-directing with Holly's creative director Josh Sanger.Called On The Run, this 14 minute&nbsp;live performance film, combines Holly's solo playing of songs from her&nbsp;Falling Asleep At The Wheel EP with a dramatic edge, that follows on from her last video, where she left a car on fire in a field.It's a hugely effective showcase of her musical talent, and another example of how Raja&nbsp;Virdi continues to push creative boundaries of the live video genre.
