Domino and Untold Studios pair up with Convivial and Outernet London to create cutting-edge, aura driven visuals for acclaimed artist and producer, Georgia.Creative-directed by Phil Lee and directed by Edie Amos, the collection of videos use facial and sonic recognition to generate real-time visuals, which represent human emotions through colour.[vidtoken data:0]Using the latest technology, these films capture Georgia’s emotions and voice as she performs live, translating them into beautiful, ever-changing patterns, which are then emitted across LED screens.&nbsp;The interactive visuals were created by Convivial Studio and are inspired by aura photography, which is the central visual theme of the&nbsp;album campaign.&nbsp;The technique gained popularity in the '70s with the AuraCam, and involved using an analog camera and hand sensors to capture electro-dermal and temperature readings, resulting in a polaroid image with coloured fields surrounding the person. Jack Whiteley returns to music videos - his first since a deliciously kooky number for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2019/04/12/aldous-harding-fixture-picture-jack-whiteley-aldous-harding/58231" target="_blank">Aldous Harding</a> earlier in the year - to undertake an surprising, sizzling makeover for erstwhile earnest indie-rockers All We Are.&nbsp;In keeping with the change&nbsp;to a&nbsp;funkier sound on their forthcoming third album, Whiteley has introduced a new element to the band's previously worthy profile - sex. But then delivers the naughty stuff&nbsp;in a charmingly tongue-in-cheek package for the album's first single L Is For Lose.It's a hot, sultry, even sweaty&nbsp;August night in Miami in about 1985 - shot in a studio, rather like a music video of the era. The band have the mock edgy attitude, like from a Pat&nbsp;Benatar video.&nbsp;But unlike the 80s, its embellished with garish&nbsp;animation that delivers&nbsp;the lyrics - created by Whitelely's regular collaborator Joe Wills - that seeps and blisters through the screen.&nbsp;It's a lurid aesthetic that's something of an acquired taste - but once acquired, you can settle back and enjoy, together with the various pleasures to be had from All We Are's change in musical direction.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Jack Barraclough collaborates with animator Venla Linna to create this excellent video for Seamus Fogarty, where the harrowing tale of Carlow Town is told through expressive choreography from Fogarty and bandmates, and with complementary animated drawings.Barrowclough sticks to a black and white palette with the band - where their unlikely recruitment to choreography is part of the fun &ndash; while Linna&#39;s animation starts out as graphic lines, then becomes more figurative and the story takes a chilling turn, even recalling Gerald Scarfe&#39;s legendary animation for Pink Floyd&#39;s Another Brick In The Wall at one point.

Kieran Evans&#39;&nbsp;beautifully photographed film for Seamus Fogarty&#39;s new track uses the simple premise of a journey from land to sea as the backdrop to weave a vocal performance and a typographic treatment of the lyrics.Shot in the Isle of Sheppey in Essex, the combination of natural beauty and old industry is brought together in the great black and white cinematography, shot by Evans himself. Fogarty&#39;s journey through these landscapes under a cloudless summer sky is counterbalanced with closeups of his face, and lines from the song printed on clear celophane.&nbsp;Travelling along hidden paths and well-trodden tracks, the singer&#39;s journey reflects his lyrics - and eventually lead us to a vast, empty sea.And a word of warning - this video starts with over a minute of Evans&#39; imagery with no sound at all. So your headphones aren&#39;t broken.

Veteran rock &#39;n roll rebel&nbsp;Peter Perrett&#39;s lacerating critique-cum-love letter addressed to the USA now has a great visual accompaniment directed by Focus Creeps which revels in its old school video aesthetic.Shot on 16mm, bursting with colour, and with the Perrett performance in East London supplemented by the judicious use of stock footage, How The West Was Won has the weight and the gorgeous look of a Nineties video by Peter Care made on fifty times the budget.&nbsp;In a way this seems an unlikely approach for Perrett, with his ghoulish look and leery vocals, but it works a treat. There&#39;s great work here by a crew including DoP Nick Morris, editor Megan Thorne, and colourist Joseph Bicknell, in a video that displays the collective effort of videomaking on its sleeve. But the biggest props go to Focus Creeps for the bold vision.

Layla Atkinson and her team at Trunk have created an impressive labour of love for folk legend Shirley Collins&#39;s Pretty Polly.Shot on film over two days with a locked-off camera and no edits or cutaways (during the hottest September weather for a century), this handmade piece of puppetry has too many moving parts to comprehend. A wonderfully authentic feeling handmade show with painted sets, creative use of lighting and charming use of traditional &#39;Jig Doll&#39; puppets. And that&#39;s perfect for Collins&#39; version of an 18th century ballad from the Appalachians.<a href="https://vimeo.com/185965429">As this behind the scenes video illustrates</a>, Atkinson and her team have delivered a very complex piece of work, and yet made it look so simple.[imgtoken data:1]

Shirley Collins, a legend of British folk music, has a new album coming out - her first for 38 years, no less. Maverick filmmaker Nick Abrahams has directed the video for the first single Death And The Lady - and he&#39;s also making a comeback of sorts. This is his first video since Sigur Ros&#39;s <a href="http://promonews.tv/videos/2012/09/28/sigur-r%C3%B3s-ekki-m%C3%BAkk-nick-abrahams" target="_blank">Ekki Mukk</a>, featuring Aiden Gillen,&nbsp;four years ago.&nbsp;In the Sigur Ros film&nbsp;Gillen rambles through the countryside, accompanied by a talking snail, the voice supplied by Collins, who took the part after being approached by Abrahams.&nbsp;This film is in some ways a companion piece to that, continuing to explore the oddness and ancient magic to be found&nbsp;in rural England, and the cycle&nbsp;of nature.With his collaborators, including DoP Ole Birkeland and artist Cathy Ward, Abrahams embraces the song&#39;s theme with imagery of skulls - one of the locations was the ossuary, or crypt, at St Leonards Church in Hythe&nbsp;- and &#39;hooden horses&#39; of ancient Kentish custom. But it&#39;s also a celebration of life, and we witness birth even within the symbol of death: a chick hatched in a bird&#39;s nest found in an ancient skull.&nbsp;And there is&nbsp;Shirley Collins&nbsp;herself, now 81, a serene and happy presence in the film, and with the help of Abrahams, a revived voice breathing fresh life into traditional&nbsp;English folk music.[imgtoken data:1] &nbsp;&nbsp;

Pablo Maestres doesn&#39;t direct music videos very often. His last one was the wonderfully surreal clip for&nbsp;<a href="http://www.promonews.tv/videos/2015/04/21/fur-voice-fantas%C3%ADa-pablo-maestres" target="_blank">Fur Voice&#39;s Fantasia</a>, multi-nominated at the MVAs in 2015.&nbsp;Now he&#39;s back with a video for&nbsp;Wild Beasts - his first for a British band&nbsp;&ndash; which shares the dreamlike quality of the Fantasia video, but with a more nightmarish edge.In the <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iY7hnGmK9pE" target="_blank">BTS film</a> for the video, Maestres describes how he took the meaning of Big Cat as being a power that is beyond one&#39;s control. From that he extrapolated a road movie, with the band travelling around the Catalonia countryside&nbsp;in a classic &#39;70s Ford Granada Ghia, evading unknown forces. The element of music-inspired surrealism is present from the start: models in magazines and posters lipsync the chorus of the song.With the story building from a series of memorable set-pieces, this is a beautifully crafted work. The&nbsp;ambition of the production&nbsp;is reflected in the shooting schedule - 12 locations in two days - interrupted by an incredible storm, prior to the climactic scene in a carpark where Wild Beasts&#39; singer Hayden Thorpe is confronted by a snarling wolf - which was evidently shot for real. Lets hope&nbsp;it&#39;s not another two years before the hugely talented Pablo&nbsp;Maestres&#39; next music video.
