A regular, middle-aged couple end up mixing with with models and fashionistas on the sort of luxury holiday you only see in a Calvin Harris promo, in the latest Ed Sheeran vid.Andy McLeod gently skewers&nbsp;the emphasis on youth, beauty and luxury in music videos - a good foil for the sentiment of Ed's Beautiful People. The sensible couple try their best to enjoy the opulent lifestyle they have been randomly dropped into, slightly bemused by the boisterous, wasteful behaviour of the young people around them. But after exhausting&nbsp;stints on a yacht, a stretched limo and private jet, they decide to pack it in and get back on the omnibus for a bit of peace and quiet.The video features a handful of comped-in,&nbsp;blink-and-you’ll-miss-it cameos from Ed Sheeran. The self-effacing singer has always taken a backseat in his own promos, often relying on a stand-in or avatar. More recently, this decision is paying off in a series of increasingly high-concept narrative pieces.

The tempestuous&nbsp;Florence Welch and director Vincent Haycock are back with a new instalment in a&nbsp;series of videos for her upcoming album How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful, and once again&nbsp;reality transforms into something far more theatrical,&nbsp;as Florence is caught in an intense struggle with her self-destructive alter-ego. Acting up like a monstrous tantrum-throwing&nbsp;inner child, this alternative Florence is played by&nbsp;Deena Thompson, who also featured Welch and Haycock&#39;s lovely video for&nbsp;<a href="https://vimeo.com/123356471">St Jude</a>.&nbsp;For Ship To Wreck,&nbsp;the setting moves to London, but the visual style and themes established in the previous videos remains -&nbsp;flowing camerawork, passionate relationships evoked through drama and modern dance.This has a&nbsp;stronger&nbsp;focus&nbsp;on Florence&#39;s personal demons, shot through with wry humour, as she storms through life in a&nbsp;flurry of violent outbursts and&nbsp;sleeping pills...

Making his first foray into music promos, Favourite Colour: Black &ndash; its the name commercials director Chris Turner is using for his vids &ndash; works with the mighty Hurts on this eyepopping, epic promo to Miracle, the first single from their second album&nbsp;Exile&nbsp;(out March 11).FC:B marries the band&rsquo;s widescreen synthpop with this dark and dramatic journey through a post-apocalyptic shopping mall, peppered with religious imagery and fearless half-clad dancers &ndash; beautiful, with loads of personality to boot &ndash; ending on a rooftop with the Hurts hashtag-like logo in flames. A highly impressive music video directing debut by anyone&rsquo;s standards.
