James Slater directs a gothic fantasy for indie-rock outfit Pale Waves.&nbsp;Taking place in a nondescript church, the performance video is simple in concept, but executed to perfection, with vocalist Heather Baron-Gracie as the constant focus as a radiant goth bride.&nbsp;DoP&nbsp;Jon Muschamp's lighting adds an ethereal feel to the aesthetic, with effervescent bursts of colour inspired by stained glass windows and blue-tinged key lights to create a cold, almost haunting atmosphere.&nbsp;The production design is also a highlight, utilising scattered practical lights and candles to elevate the enigmatic concept.

Mat Whitecross returns to music videos with this&nbsp;gently quirky&nbsp;promo for Smith &amp; Burrows.The duo, made up of Andy&nbsp;Burrows, formerly of Razorlight, and Editors' Tom&nbsp;Smith, are each shown walking through Parliament Hill on Hampstead Heath, being observed on their way by otherworldly puppets, watching&nbsp;from hidden vantage points.&nbsp;Building to a great crescendo, the pair happen across a huge group of these creatures, who have gathered to hear the duo perform in the middle of the forest.&nbsp;It's a true feat, and the puppets - care of the famous Little Angel Theatre in Islington, North London - are wonderfully designed; a combination of fairy tale beasts and acid-trip hallucinations.&nbsp;

Liam Gallagher and Christmas - on the face of it, not the likeliest combination. But Anthony Byrne manages to reconcile this&nbsp;apparent contradiction in his video for All You're Dreaming Of.Not that Yuletide is explicitly mentioned here, but Byrne keeps things simple yet seasonal, with Liam being his unsmiling, arguably Grinch-like self in a couple of reasonably festive settings. Working with editor Chris Roebuck, he has layered images over each other to inject a dreamier atmosphere. And as with his previous video for Gallagher, for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2019/08/30/liam-gallagher-one-us-anthony-byrne/60493" target="_blank">One Of Us</a>, the director best known for his work on Peaky Blinders completed this one in black and white.Ultimately it's Liam's heartfelt delivery of the song that gets the seasonal spirit flowing - and also sparks memories of his great inspiration John Lennon, who died 40 years ago this month.And as all the proceeds of the release will be donated to the charity&nbsp;<a href="https://www.actionforchildren.org.uk/" target="_blank">Action For Children UK</a>, Liam really is more like Santa than that gruff exterior suggests.

Myles Whittingham directs a very personal story of survival in his promo for Bugzy Malone's Don't Cry, featuring Dermot Kennedy.&nbsp;Alluding to Malone's&nbsp;near-fatal crash back in March - which left the artist with life-threatening injuries -&nbsp;the concept is presented as two parallel storylines, one anchored in realism and one in fantasy.&nbsp;Representing the fine line between life and death, we see a vicious boxing match, with Bugzy battling against a more powerful&nbsp;opponent, then cutting to see him&nbsp;fighting for his life for real, surrounded by paramedics and flashing blue lights.&nbsp;Matthew Taylor's cinematography is outstanding, aesthetically dividing the two vignettes through the use of contrasting camera movements and strong colour palettes. The boxing match in particular is suitably impactful - directed, shot and edited to be as cinematically brutal as possible.&nbsp;Action-packed, high energy and beautifully crafted, it is a visceral experience which is also reflective - with Kennedy adding his vocals from a hospital corridor, as if he is waiting for news about Bugzy.&nbsp;
