What is that murky liquid rising up around Ash and her dancers?The artist and director are in perfect harmony in their drive to create art that crosses over the line of good taste, and will generate a good deal of actual disgust, even from those who admire it greatly. New director Sam Aminzadeh has made an auspicious music video directing debut with an delightful video for London singer-songwriter Murkage Dave, shot by the legendary DoP Robbie Ryan.The video for World I Want To Live In expresses the positive message in Murkage Dave's gospel-influenced song, in a studio set-up where a group of disparate individuals come together to express themselves collectively through dance.Dave is the charismatic centre that holds this group together, performing the song which reflects upon the stress that social media can cause, to him and to everyone else. The simple but expressive dance moves of the group - a collaboration&nbsp;of professional dancers and non-professionals - symbolises a common strategy, or therapy, to deal with the stress;&nbsp;finding a route to make that improved world that Dave is talking about.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;Aminzadeh has been working as an assistant to some eminent directors over the past few years, including Daniel Wolfe, Kim Gehrig and Grant Singer. With this accomplished debut&nbsp;he shows he has a very promising future as a director&nbsp;himself.

It's a reunion for De Wilde with Nighy - he appeared in her 2020 feature Emma.Filmed in Ukraine in 2021 with Ukrainian filmmakers and artists and featuring Ukrainian folk art by Katerina Konovalova and designed with production designer Volodymyr Radlinskiy, Free&nbsp;follows the previous three music videos King,&nbsp;Heaven Is Here&nbsp;and My Love,&nbsp;by de Wilde. &nbsp;

Following the breathtaking video&nbsp;for <a href="http://Florence + The Machine 'King' by Autumn de Wilde">King</a>, Autumn de Wilde continues her collaboration with Florence + The Machine in&nbsp;this untamed promo for Heaven Is Here.&nbsp;Taking things back to where they started in the previous video, Florence appears with the same group of dancers,&nbsp;this time appearing as one of them,&nbsp;losing the purple shroud and the supernatural aura of her previous incarnation.&nbsp;The performance is feral, impulsive and assertive, and the overall atmosphere&nbsp;feels incredibly raw and authentic. This is certainly the&nbsp;spiritual successor to King, which feels otherworldly and transcendent whilst building upon the abstract narrative and themes of the music.&nbsp;As mentioned in our review of the King,&nbsp;many of the people involved in making the&nbsp;video, from the Ukranian production company Radioaktive and other freelance film crew, are&nbsp;now fighting for the survival of their country, and their lives. Our prayers are with them and their fellow citizens.

Shot in Fukuoka, the video features a group of young people slowly venturing out into the empty city and, upon discovering each other, joining together in a celebratory dance that’s a joyful allegory to the (hopefully) ending of the pandemic and humanity slowly opening up again.Featuring dancer and choreographer Yurina Goto and her team of dancers, 不可幸⼒ (Fukakouryoku) by Vaundy tells of a messy and dirty world; of a humanity consisting of scared, lonely, fragile and sensitive humans. One in which our insecurities and peculiarities are something that we all share. The song invites us to celebrate, love, and hold hands.

Sivan <a href="https://www.theguardian.com/fashion/2019/apr/06/troye-sivan-youtuber-singer-actor-fashion-queer-pride-laura-snapes">spoke glowingly</a> of his experience on My My My, an opportunity for to be visibly and unapologetically queer. Sam Smith already made a foray into the ballroom scene for Promises. But in this video, he is front and centre, fresh from lessons with Parris Goebel, the choreographer behind Justin Beiber’s internet-busting video for Sorry. You’ve never seen a mainstream, male songwriter vogue quite like this.

The Decemberists have released a powerful new video for Once In My Life,&nbsp;directed by acclaimed director and photographer Autumn de Wilde, and starring her&nbsp;brother Jacob de Wilde.The song is the lead track on the band&rsquo;s eighth studio album I&rsquo;ll Be Your Girl, which was released on Capitol Records this Spring.Autumn speaks movingly about how important the project was to her below, and Colin Meloy from&nbsp;the band says that&nbsp;they were immediately drawn to her idea featuring her brother Jacob.&nbsp;&ldquo;In my mind, the song is a meditation, a plea to the cosmos that I imagine everyone, at some point or another, has made,&rdquo; he says. &ldquo;We&nbsp;asked our old friend and collaborator Autumn de Wilde to pitch an idea and she came to us with a simple but powerful story: a depiction of her brother Jacob, a man who has lived with physical and intellectual differences his entire life, dancing in the streets of Los Angeles. The song, in this light, becomes more than just a &ldquo;celebration of sadness,&rdquo; (which I have sometimes called it) but suddenly a longing holler to the universe against one&rsquo;s perceived otherness.&ldquo;This idea is particularly close to me as I&rsquo;ve witnessed how the world sees my son Hank, who is autistic. This fabulous video for French-African outfit&nbsp;Tshegua from Pantera - that&#39;s the Buenos Aires-based directing collective, not the &#39;80s metal band -&nbsp;features&nbsp;Sarah Sekongo as a young woman establishing a normal life for herself in the Ivory Coast despite her outwardly invisible but profound disability.This is a beautifully made piece of work, that fully immerses you in her world, and through that, the music of Tshegua - the music that Sekongo cannot herself hear.&nbsp;With photography by the redoubtable Steve Annis, this is a story that seeps into the viewer&#39;s psyche and brings joy. Marvellous.&nbsp;&nbsp;

After his biggest movie hit yet with Baby Driver - the film that was inspired by his late 90s video for Mint Royale - Edgar Wright makes a surprise return to music videos for Beck. And it also could be about to be part of something big.The video for Colors (the title track from Beck&#39;s latest&nbsp;album)&nbsp;is a suitably dazzling display of colour and choreography, with Beck and co-star Alison Brie as the monochrome core within an army of &#39;aliens&#39; performing a&nbsp;Busby Berkeley-like dance routine - choreographed by Ryan Heffington, who also created the brilliant choreography at the start of Baby.&nbsp;This is all presented in alternate keys of blue and yellow - the primary hues on the wonderful&nbsp;Colors album cover, by British designers Jimmy Turrell and Steve Stacey.It&#39;s also <a href="http://apple.co/ColorsMusicVideo" target="_blank">exclusive to Apple Music</a>. Not the first of its kind, for sure, but this new Beck video is an important flagbearer in the&nbsp;new drive by Apple to increase the take-up on its music service, via exclusive music videos and a generally much improved music video service. Two others, for A Tribe Called Quest and Kylie Minogue, are part of this initial rollout of exclusives for&nbsp;this service touted as having<a href="http://variety.com/2018/biz/news/apple-music-adds-thousands-of-videos-including-new-ones-from-a-tribe-called-quest-beck-kylie-minogue-watch-1202738947/" target="_blank">&nbsp;recently added &#39;thousands of videos&#39;</a>. It&#39;s what Apple is describing as &quot;the best music video-watching experience available anywhere&quot; and &quot;ad-free&quot;.Not, of course,&nbsp;free-to-view. Swedish singer songwriter Zara Larsson&#39;s Don&#39;t Let Me Be Yours&nbsp;has been paired with cool, uplifting visuals by&nbsp;Daniel Kaufman.&nbsp;Taking the form of a performance video, it&nbsp;also follows a&nbsp;loose narrative of a teenage&nbsp;racecar driver, reflecting back upon afternoons of car repair with&nbsp;her dad. The clip is very watchable, with&nbsp;plenty of spins,&nbsp;high-speed action, and a&nbsp;bashed up car caught on fire&nbsp;at the end, but more than just entertaining it also manages to emanate a strong nostalgic&nbsp;mood that works perfectly alongside the track.&nbsp;
