<a href="https://stinkfilms.com/united-kingdom" target="_blank">Stink Films</a> have announced that&nbsp;Andzej Gavriss, who directed the acclaimed and award-winning videos for Aigel's You're Born and Sansara's We Will Become Better, has joined the commercial and music video roster in Europe, US and Asia.The Latvian director&nbsp;has become renowned for his imaginative and highly cinematic take on storytelling, with short films such as Malaria, about homelessness in Los Angeles, and last year's Eleusis, about a rock star's incarceration in an unorthodox rehab centre.After well-received videos for Korn and Aigel - featuring the mysterious rejuvenation of the Russian ruler - his greatest acclaim has come with We Will Be Better, which challenges homophobic sentiment in Russia&nbsp;with a love story of two men told through dance. The film was the latest of his collaborations with&nbsp;Evgeny Primachenko of WK Amsterdam, conceived as a short film which was then developed into a music video for Russian band Sansara.In the last two years his work has won many international awards, including Director of the Year at Shots, Grand Prize and GOLD for Direction at CLIO, Silver at Cannes Lions, Gold Screen at YDA 2020, Wooden Pencil for Direction at D&amp;AD, and Best Cinematography in a Music Video at Camerimage. His most recent awards include Gold at 1.4, Silver for Direction at Eurobest, and Bronze at Epica.&nbsp;“For me the creative comes first. Following his award-winning video for <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2020/03/23/aigel-youre-born-andzej-gavriss/63910" target="_blank">Aigel's You're Born</a>, and the experimental short Malaria, Latvian director Andzej Gavriss's latest project is a big step forward into cinematic narrative -&nbsp;a&nbsp;dark, boldly imagined story of a damaged rock singer, on a rehab program like no other.Filmed in Ukraine, and co-produced by 2332 Films,&nbsp;Eleusis is a tremendously atmospheric fantasy-thriller, where the catatonic pop singer Ivan is delivered into the custody of a mysterious sanitorium which guarantees the creative rejuvenation of its patients - but at a terrible cost.The rock star (Ivan Dorn) must suffer ordeals at the hands of the Nurse Cratchet-like mystic (played by Natalia Kara) who leads a coven of maidens to send him into delirium, and make him suffer nightmarish dreams - all made breathlessly plausible by the mesmerizing quality of the production.&nbsp;With both an extraordinarily grand&nbsp;location and excellent cast - including&nbsp;the Ostapenko brothers, three identical triplets who play the sanatorium's security detail - Gavriss builds his story on a movie-like scale, ably assisted by a talented team including production designer Julija Fricsone Gavriss and cinematographer Jacob Moller, to its harrowing climax.Eleusis is over twenty minutes in length, and it is a riveting watch from first to last.&nbsp;And surely&nbsp;it is the calling card to ensure that Gavriss's future lies in feature films.[imgtoken data:1]&nbsp;[imgtoken data:2][imgtoken data:3]&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;

Andzej Gavriss's short film for the charity Houseless Not Homeless combines imaginative fantasy and grim reality to explain how 'houselessness' can happen&nbsp;among people who call America their home.A hardworking businessman is hit by a double-whammy of misfortune, losing his job and then bitten by a malaria-infected mosquito, and thereby&nbsp;plummets from the commanding heights to the streets - via a nightmarish fever-dream in the arid desert.&nbsp;The LA-based Latvian director -&nbsp;who has made a big impact with his video earlier this year such as <a href="https://www.promonews.tv/videos/2020/03/23/aigel-youre-born-andzej-gavriss/63910" target="_blank">You're Born for Russian artist Aigel</a> - has created an unusual and memorable charity film. The use of the&nbsp;infected mosquito as a metaphor for everyday misfortune is inspired, and that allows Gavriss to create a powerful vision to dovetail with reportage photography to illustrate the crisis and&nbsp;the film's real message: over half a million people who call the United States their home are 'house-less' in 2020, and something needs be done about that.&nbsp;

In&nbsp;Andzej Gavriss&#39;s video for&nbsp;James Arthur&#39;s Empty Space,&nbsp;Tom Felton plays a man who is haunted by the past, and destroying himself in the process. It turns out he has good reason.This is a powerful, character-driven drama set in 1990s Los Angeles, where a distraught Felton looks back to a relationship with the radiant love of his life, played by Rachel Kim Cross.&nbsp;The happiness of the flashbacks counterpoint Felton&#39;s misery and self-destructive urges which we discover come from his overwhelming sense of guilt.The world created by Gavriss is elevated by the work by cinematographer Nick Bupp and the art direction by Julija Friscone Gavriss, encapsulating the 90&#39;s vibe and enriching the story even more. And ultimately this proves to be a parable about the bad things that&nbsp;can happen when you are compelled to film your life.
