Molly Burdett's latest video for singer-songwriter Arlo Parks explores&nbsp;feelings of loneliness and insecurity, whilst emitting a sense of confusion and disconnection.Arlo’s dream-like voice acts as a guiding force for Saidu, the boy in&nbsp;the video. Shot during lockdown in an abandoned Jewish boarding school, Burdett depicts Arlo as the narrator,&nbsp;using low angles to place her in a position of silent power. Surreal imagery reinforces the sense of the boy's turmoil in a hyper-real setting.

It shows that both have considerable charisma, and the effect is powerful.And just when you&#39;re used to the split screen technique, Thomas mixes it up to show that these girls really are stronger together.

Zac Ella&#39;s return to music videos for The Magic Gang requires you to keep your eyes peeled at all times.It may start as&nbsp;a tried-and-tested sitcom trope - son brings girlfriend to meet his parents and have squirm-inducing dinner - but things get progressively darker and weirder. And make less sense as the visual continuity errors start appearing.So pay attention, and see if you can pick up on all of the purposely-placed continuity errors throughout the video - some really easy, and some really hard. There&#39;s a lot - and they&#39;re listed at the end.&quot;Yeah - it&rsquo;s pretty much inspired by <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pGHJ4loOVCU" target="_blank">The Krypton Factor&rsquo;s observation round</a>,&quot; says Ella. &quot;This could quite easily have gone down the colourful slapstick route but it drifted into the dark with a sober approach to the cinematography.&nbsp;&quot;We was pretty fortunate to get all the cast we reached out to - including Brass Eye&rsquo;s David Cann and Eastenders&rsquo; Maddy Hill - which some&rsquo;s up the dark-hearted comedy we were aiming for. &nbsp;That and a bloke in a dress always helps.&quot;&nbsp; &nbsp;

And Eoin Glaister gets plenty of comic mileage out of that scenario in this video for Kele from Bloc Party.&nbsp;This is the latest of a fantastic run of videos by Glaister in 2017. After his ambitious trilogies for Aquilo and All We Are, we have come to expect great performances from his work - by humans. Now he shows he can turn bulldogs into stars. A bloody marvellous video.

But he has messed with the wrong girl.Fred Rowson does a very good job here in creating a dramatic situation that deals with a serious issue&nbsp;&ndash;&nbsp;and showing just how feasible this is &ndash; while retaining conventions of the pop video, including performance.&nbsp;&quot;Ever since Bree and I shared a mutual love of Kanye West on the dance floor, I knew I wanted to make a music video for her,&quot; he says. &quot;We dedicated this to perverts everywhere; your days are numbered.&quot;

Pleasure becomes an artificial commodity in Zhang + Knight&#39;s sprawling, sinister clip for Ghostpoet.Initially shot overseas before running into some trouble (more on that in a few days time), the video depicts a haunting pre-apocalyptic world in which most of the finer things in life have become synthetic substitutions for the real thing. Pollution seems to be at a lethal high point, morale at a lethal low. A smog covers most of the promo, and slowly creeps through the characters lives - a constant ghostly reminder of a potential near-future.With moody&nbsp;compositions that feel like something out of a Gregory Crewdson book by way of Black Mirror, Zhang + Knight have crafted a world that&#39;s haunting in its nihilistic projections.
