Arlo Parks 'Hurt' by Molly Burdett
Promonews - 4th Sept 2020
Molly Burdett's latest video for singer-songwriter Arlo Parks explores feelings of loneliness and insecurity, whilst emitting a sense of confusion and disconnection.
Arlo’s dream-like voice acts as a guiding force for Saidu, the boy in the video. Shot during lockdown in an abandoned Jewish boarding school, Burdett depicts Arlo as the narrator, using low angles to place her in a position of silent power. Surreal imagery reinforces the sense of the boy's turmoil in a hyper-real setting.
